Everything looked wonderful. We ordered the brisket nachos and pork sliders. The brisket had great flavor but the nachos were lacking in the sauce area. It could be fabulous if they gave a large side of sauce for dipping or pouring. The sliders were meat only, had great flavor but the meat was dry according to him who smokes meat a lot. We had dinner around 6:30 so maybe the later time everything was dried out. I know folks who come regular so it might just be me. What a great find not far from our hotel in Grants Pass! We spent some time at the bar and got to chatting with the bartender who was extremely nice. My husband and I split a couple of their beers which were really good. Very friendly atmosphere and comfortable. We then ordered a pizza to go to take back to our balcony overlooking the Rogue River. The pizza I got was awesome, Linguica, fresh tomatoes & avocado. I don't often find linguisa (a portuguese sausage) and it was great on the pizza! Wild River pub owners and staff are SO nice and helpful. We were having a family reunion of sorts over a weekend that of course was happening during Grants Pass sidewalk chalk art event. A lot of the historic downtown businesses were either blocked off due to street closures or couldn't accommodate our reservation size. Wild River pub saved the day. We were able to reserve enough space for our reunion. We knew we would cause a scene as we haven't met this family member in 44 years, so it was going to be emotional....they had an area off to the side for us. It was perfect. They easily handled all our needs with multiple drinks and beers as well as food and snacks. Never missing a beat. Missed taking any pictures of the food, but the fried pickles were amazing. They are pickle spears, not chips but the breading stayed on and was crispy. Delicious. The pizzas also looked amazing, they offer gluten free crust as well, which was needed for one of our group. We enjoyed our time at Wild River pub between the food and drinks and the pool table. Can't wait to go back and sample more of their menu. read more

Some of the previous reviews concerned me, but I am so glad we gave this place a try. They have a good amount of gluten free items (salads and pizza). They have pool to play and kids can play with adults. They have a kids menu too. The southwest chicken salad was good and a bit spicy, the sweet chili wings were very good and worth ordering again. The kids pizza is large and enough for 2 kids to share. The service is basic counter service, but the bartender was very nice. I would have preferred a server for our table as I dislike having to get up for everything you need. But we would still come back and eat there again. The food was good and the pool table was fun for our child. This is a great place to host a large gathering as they have a big room to host a party. Otherwise the ambiance is a bit dark in the regular bar area, but fairly normal for a bar. The one downside is that the salad size is way too small for the price. read more

All three trips had the same issues ~ Ugh, Ordered pizza - with specific ingredients ~ NO BELL PEPPER (I'm allergic), NO GARLIC & ADD fresh MUSHROOMS,   All three times, Pizza was delivered with none of my requests. We return it and have them re-make our pizza and still with issues.   This last time there we ordered with our pizza a side salad and bread that was very stale.   When the re-made Pizzas are delivered, usually cooled down and still missing ingredients that I have requested. The pizzas literally tasted like it was just stuck in an oven for a few minutes. Very disappointing!   Nothing said from any Employee about the Pizza not being made as to my request.   This is not the first time that they made a mistake on our pizza. Came to this restaurant because they are 'dog friendly' - while I understand most restaurants do not allow anything but service animals - the air quality is 'very unhealthy' with the smoke being extremely thick. we are forced to sit outside instead of these people having a bit of any common sense or empathy. Don't waste your money here. What a shame to serve this crap to people and take their money. An appetizer of cheese bread was really a $9.00 slice of toast, real cute. The $16 salad was tiny, like a side and had rotten brown sprouts. The hot turkey sandwich was dry bread with 3 slices of turkey, one piece of lettuce and a single slice of cheese, microwaved, turning it into that gross hardened texture. The burger was dry, no flavor, and the meat was hard and chewy, like it was microwaved. Not a single plate was taken off the table, nor did anybody ever come to check and see how the food was....and honestly, serving wine from a box in a restaurant or even pub like bar is just lame. read more

Had GREAT Fish n Chips tonight ! I'm a purist when it comes to this dish. The fish is firm, and flakes exactly as I expect. The batter is light and crispy as it should be, unlike another popular place in town near the river. And great flavor as well. I have always enjoyed coming to the Pub after a long work week. However, since Covid it's just not the same. Before it was always relaxed but then you seated yourself and a server would come and greet you. No more. Now you walk up to the counter and place the order like a taco shop, we probably won't be returning and go across the street as we had been for past years. BUT... tonight the Fish n Chips were spot on. Another concern was we were able to watch the girl that brought the food to our table kept messing with the bun she had her hair in which left concern of our food. First off, I was surprised that Grants Pass even had a brewery. Secondly, they brew fairly good beer. I've only had their pizza once, and while not spectacular was still tasty. And that might describe Wild River in general, highly above average, but not quite great. So what are they missing? As a beer drinker, that signature beer, the one which reminds you, unmistakably, of Wild River. My personal favorite is the Octoberfest, and the honey wheat. But I've yet to try all of them either. There is definite room for improvement. However, if in Grants Pass I wouldn't recommend anywhere else, at least not for beer-lovers. read more

There was a waiting list, we put our names down, and were skipped not once, but twice. I'm really trying hard to not think it was due to a teeny little nose ring, or labret piercing with mg otherwise conservative outfit. Hey? I mean I even have a coach bag? A real one? And my bling itself can tell you that I'm good for the tab, so why skip a mom and her little boy who just want some pineapple pizza and dessert? (It wasn't due to party size either. I usually get the pub pesto pasta because I'm an addict. But I've tried most of the burgers and salads as well and I've always been satisfied. The pubfries and ranch are a must for any newbies. I moved away from Southern Oregon about 10 years ago, but every time I drive through town, I make it a point to stop at Wild River. When I lived in GP, I thought that Wild River was a little too expensive and didn't truly appreciate the quality of food. Now that I live in Washington, I just want a good old Wild River pizza or burger. The burgers are 1/2 lb angus patties, and are very tasty when cooked properly. I remember sometimes the burgers were overcooked, but most of the time they came to the table hot & juicy. My personal favorite was the burger with carmelized onions & cheddar on their homemade onion cheese bun. The fries are excellent, so good in fact, that I don't want to order fries at other restaurants just to be disappointed. I really liked the pizzas, especially the Mediterranean pizza with the artichokes and feta. I think I've mastered how to cook it at home (sans the wood fired oven) and my friends are impressed when I make pizza for them. The regular Wild River pizza crust was pretty good to me, it got a hint of flavor from the wood fire and the sauce.... oh my their sauce is the best! Not every meal was perfect, but every restaurant has problems. I will continue to eat at Wild River whenever I'm in the area. read more

This is a great place to stop for lunch. I've always had positive experiences with the staff and very prompt service. The food here is killer as well.
