The atmosphere is perfect inside, low lights, soft music and the little path leading to the door is landscaped nicely. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, they even seated us without reservation. The food.... The food is phenomenal! Warm homemade biscuit, flavorful cozy soup, the dressings for salad were packed with flavor and the entrees soooooo good! So much flavor, thoughtful dishes that are clearly made with passion. This was our first time and we will be back again.

This is our favorite restaurant in Oregon. We have come three times now and we live in another state! The home made salad dressing is to die for. The filet was like butter and the best filet mignon I have ever had!!! And don't forget the desserts!

Our family voted Arbor House the BEST place to eat. Not only is the food the most delicious in the valley (Southern Oregon's best kept secret) the atmosphere and the BEST EVER SERVICE! We feel a part of the family when we're dining. Special every single time. A MUST! Tonight we had this halibut. The best I have EVER had.

We love this family run restaurant- and just had such an amazing dinner there tonight! Started with a special Caesar dip appetizer with bread - which was so warm and yummy. Great flavor! Their dinners come with soup and salad - tonight was a rich and flavorful potato leek soup. Then a house salad with 3 dressings on the side, all homemade and each so flavorful I had to try all three! I had their seafood pasta which had a just few fresh vegees mixed in with the shrimp & scallops - just like I love. Hubby had Coq au Vin chicken dish, cooked so well. Finished off our amazing meal with Key Lime pie and strawberry shortcake. This was a top notch meal enjoyed with a local wine. One of our favorite places in the valley for dinner. Even on this busy night they are all about great service and wonderful food! We always love it!

Perfectly cooked filet, veggies and Alfredo. Salad dressings were super taste also!

Wassss so good. I have been wanting to try this gem for a while and finally did. Should have sooner. Everything was cooked perfectly. Awesome portions. Super delicious. Great service. Can tell this is a locals hiden favorite for sure.

This place reminds me of the fish houses in Reedsport, minus the salt air and seagulls. Servers were patient as we perused the extensive menu, and attentive after we ordered. The bar had more ambience than the main room with rows of white tables. Trying to avoid bibs and a brown meal, I opted to try both the cod and shrimp tacos. Note to self: ask chef to skip finishing salt, as I had more than my usual 'restaurant water weight' the next day. The extra-thick napkins -as every woman knows-are worth keeping in purse or car if you aren't a particularly messy diner. {can I buy some?} I'd read about the marinara (East Coast style) as shellfish sauce; my partner thought it was ok, while I would have preferred the traditional cioppino broth or the white wine scampi broth that my sister raved about. Her mussels really should have included bread instead of just a spoon so as not to waste that broth. In a second visit, appetizers (including the won ton poke tacos) and a beer left no room for dessert. My partner spent his GC on 4 2# Dungeness Crab, which were cleaning thoroughly and steamed to perfection- Great feasting to start the new year. Will definitely check out the patio when warmer weather returns.

First of all the pancakes were the best I have ever seen at any Asian restaurant ever!!!! they were hot, thin, delicate, but strong and tasted great. The Moo Shu mixture itself was fine; however, no sauce was provided. I've never had that experience. Always before either plum sauce or hoisin sauce has been provided and it makes the dish wonderful. I would've asked for hoisin sauce, but I never saw my server again. She never came back to check on me until it was time to pay the bill. I am going to go back and give it another try but this time when I placed my order, I am going to specify that I would like hoisin sauce. As a chef at two James Beard-winning restaurants, a server, owner, and consultant, I have dedicated my life to the food industry and the people within it. I'm from Ashland, and I was so happy when places like this started showing up in my hometown. Good food and atmosphere can be so hard to find. Coming home to Ashland can be a true oasis for my family. My wife and I have made it our life's mission to make our daughter feel equal and included. Our daughter was born with a rare condition called AMC and does not have normal function in any of her limbs. She currently spends 3-4 days a week in physical therapy to continue building strength so her body and organs can function properly. We were visiting family at the park and suggested stopping in for a beverage and snacks to escape the heat after a long day. We typically plan everything ahead to ensure wherever we go can accommodate my daughter's wheelchair and needs. When we arrived, we thought, "Wow, perfect, she can wheel right in and up to one of the many open tables." Once we were "greeted" by the host, I realized we were not who she wanted to deal with. Three kids, three adults, a stroller, and a wheelchair. She looked like she wanted nothing to do with us, like we were dirt on her shoe. "No reservation," she said. I replied, "Yeah, so sorry, we figured since it was a Monday night right when you opened, and there were only two two-tops seated, we could probably find somewhere to sit." I reassured her we would not stay long enough to impact reservations at the larger front tables, which usually have reserved markers on them but did not at the time. We could all feel that she didn't want to seat us, and we left despite me practically begging to make something work for us, because I know she could have if she wanted to. Being from the industry, I understand what kids can do to an atmosphere, and I know a lot of restaurant workers don't enjoy dealing with other people's children. But when we went outside and my daughter cried and said, "They didn't want me there" So I loaded my daughter's wheelchair back into the car so I could carry her up the stairs at Brickroom, where one employee was working the entire place and took amazing care of us, I might add. We resorted to a booster seat for my daughter since she couldn't use her wheelchair there. She ended up falling out of the seat and slamming onto the hardwood floor. She cried and was embarrassed. The young man tending bar while also waiting every table rushed over with a bag of ice to comfort her. It was honestly touching how kind he was. When we left Brickroom, we had spent more time there than we originally intended to spend at Bar Juliet. As we walked back by Bar Juliet, we noticed the restaurant was still only about half full, and one of the large front tables had remained open the entire time from around 4:10 until 5:40 when we walked by again. I had to stop and ask the host why she couldn't have seated us considering that table never filled. Her only explanation was, "Our kitchen is slow getting food out." Such an incredibly weak excuse. I hope she understands she was wrong and that she made my daughter feel unwanted simply because accommodating us wasn't convenient for her. I have never left a review in my life, but I was so saddened and disgusted by this experience that I felt I had to.

The sauce that was served with my perfectly cooked steak and unbelievable potatoes is addictive. You just have to experience it to know. My waitress, Bri, was so kind and friendly, her energy was so appreciated. It's a beautiful and comfortable environment. I can't rave enough about this place. Highly recommend!

The service was just fine. On the other hand, the food was absolutely terrible. We ordered the…read morecrabcakes that said they were Dungeness crabcakes from Oregon. They were not they were made out of canned crab that not only could you tell came out of a crab. It was rotten. It smelled fishy, and the crabcakes didn't stick together like it was more like they shaped crab in a crabcake form, but it was not cooked nor was it good you could smell how rotten it was when it came to the table, we did not eat one bite of it. In fact, we sent it back because it wasn't good. Only to find that they left it on our bill actually expected us to pay for rotten crab after sending it back to the kitchen. While we sent a drink back that was wrong. The drink was more of a personal preference. It was too sweet and so that was on the bill. I guess that could be understandable to charge us for. But to charge us for rotten crab that you sent to our table and not even come out and apologize for it try to give us to pay for it was absolutely disgusting. If you walk down to the bathroom and you see how filthy the floor is, you can only imagine what the kitchen is like. I would not recommend this place to anyone nor will we ever go back.
