If you are a lover of cheese this is a must stop. The owner is a lovely lady from France that is absolutely passionate about cheese. I purchased some Swiss double cream Brie, Cotswold, salted French butter and a few other items that were extraordinary. This is a small local shop. There is a coffee house in the building as well. What a cool place! Stopped by here when I was working in this beautiful little town of Phoenix. I bought a couple of fantastic flavorful cheeses! This place truly feels like you were stepping into a different country, of course that could be because of the beautiful French accent that the proprietor has! This is a wonderful cheese shop. There is also an amazing little shop inside the cheese shop, with great espresso drinks and amazing made-onsite pastries (try the vegan brownie!). There is also free wifi and tables to sit at. I highly recommend. read more

The Oregon Cheese Cave - Outside at the Cheese Cave - Cheese Shops Near Me - Phoenix, Oregon

I attended a pop up event that the Cheese Cave did at one of the local farms, which has a gorgeous screened in wine tasting room. I bought a cheese plate with some candied nuts, fruit, some of which was fresh from the farm that hosted, and three generous servings of very flavorful cheeses. I specifically asked for some bold flavors, and I do not have any food allergies, but sounds like there was a gluten-free cheese option available as well. When I visited the Cheese Cave location last, I saw that there are some made to order waffles with some different toppings available for purchase, so I think I will try that next time. I'll keep you all posted as to how that goes, and I'm excited for it as the waffle looked scrumptious when another customer ordered it. read more

Customer service has always been viewed as important over my lifetime. These days, especially post COVID, it feels more like customers are a bother and the norm is to do the bare minimum to get a paycheck. So now it throws me off when someone goes above and beyond, and the owner off this business did exactly that for me today. My daughter and her husband went to Ashland overnight to celebrate their wedding anniversary. I wanted to do something special for them. I thought it would be fairly simple since Ashland has wine tasting and all the gift stores you could imagine. Boy was I wrong about that. I called no less than eight or nine places and not only did no one do that, or deliver, it seemed that no one could even make a recommendation as to who I should contact. I finally contacted Barbara at the culinary kitchen store in Ashland. My last attempt at this point. Barbara Gave me the name of this company, Oregon cheese caves. I contacted the owner (I didn't get her name) and she was amazing. I gave her a price range and idea of what I wanted. Wine, cheeses, crackers, meat, and I wanted it delivered to my daughter's hotel room as a surprise. This woman's business was located in Phoenix, but she said she had to go to Ashland to pick up her son so delivery was no problem. We spent over an hour with her texting me photos of different items and explaining what they were and Took time to ask what my daughters was. All the while she was handling customers in her shop. She put together a wonderful mix of items. She boxed it all up and took the time to write a note that I asked her to write. I don't get the impression she does delivery on a regular basis so I was very impressed. The prices On the items were very reasonable and she packed it up nicely including the note she wrote and delivered it to my daughter's room. I visit Ashland often and never heard of her business. Believe me I will be venturing out the next time I'm there to visit her business. Phoenix is only 8 miles outside of Ashland. This woman and the woman at the culinary kitchen store have restored. This woman now has a lifelong customer. And I happen to love wine and cheese and all the good stuff that goes with it! read more

My best friend ordered a tray from here for an event, and I couldn't wait to order my own! I didn't have an actual event so I went in the store and told her I was looking for the same spread but just for me. She was MORE than accommodating, messaged about my preference and also sent me a picture to make sure I approved. I didn't need to the picture because I knew I would get the best cheese and products. I had my first cheese platter for 2 from the Cheese Cave and sharing it with a Vegan. Melodie prepared a delicious selection of 2 vegan cheeses and 1 goat cheese for me. My daughter raved about the vegan cheeses and I actually enjoyed them too. I'm not a fan of goat cheese but I plan on adding it to another dish so it worked out well. The platter was generous in the cheese sizes and came decorated with nuts, olives and jam. A full package of crackers was included. A great deal and a great treat! But if you'd like to browse and buy from a selection of Oregon and World cheeses, curated by a host speaking in a French accent, then where else are you gonna go? If you are in the mood for a little snacky-snack, then the Waffle Cheese bowl (or is it Cheese waffle bowl? I can't remember) is a recommend for ya. I also advise to engage with the host to get advice on pairings and cheese profiles, based on what you like. The top reason to go to OCC is really the knowledge therein. Stopped by for the Open House today. Wonderful cheeses, local and international (& some vegan). Had my first ever cheese waffle. It was light and subtle savory flavors (I got the savory choices, she has sweet, as well). What a wonderful lunch! The French wheat beer was amazing! And then, Philippe, her baker, came in with his morning's labor. Fantastic! Also, thrilled to hear he used Dunbar Farm flour. I have never had a brioche where I could actually perceive the flavor of all the ingredients and had wonderful texture. Definitely returning with friends! My husband and I moved to Phoenix about 7 months ago and every time I drove by here I was so curious. We recently started walking our dog there on Saturdays for he grilled cheese truck and Phillipe the local baker. We finally ventured inside and oh my goodness were we in heaven. The selection is beyond incredible and the owner is so so kind and knowledgeable! I took home some garlic pickles the first time and let me tell you, I would fight someone for those bad boys. Literal slices heaven. Everything we have brought home from there whether cheese, pickles, jams, etc... we've never been disappointed. We have also heard that the owner does really amazing cheese and wine pairings that we are gearing up for but for right now we are just happy to e able to support a small business who's owner genuinely loves what she does and has a gift for it! Melodie is a top notch human and cheese connoisseur. She also has cute gift items, beautiful wine and beverages and amazing cheese fruit and waffles (you have to try it to see what I mean). Two friends and I ended our ladies day at The Oregon Cheese Cave. What a wonderful treat. We were welcomed and educated by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable businesswoman of a fairly new establishment in Phoenix, Oregon. Tasted several delicious cheeses and came home with a Roquefort.
