We love cheese, so this was a logical stop along the highway for us. They make the cheese locally, plus have other cheeses and items sourced from other places. You can get samples of their cheeses to help you decide what to purchase. They also have some unique grilled cheese sandwiches, soups, and beverages for purchase. A small gift shop area is fun to look around. Some patio seating out front to enjoy your sandwich. It would've been fun to get a tour of the cheese making process, but it wasn't in production when we were there. Fun!
I do not like blue cheese. I'll get that out of the way first. But Rogue Creamery with their world renowned cheese? There's no way I could resist visiting. On a weekday morning right during opening, as soon as I opened the front door, I could smell funky blue cheese wafting through the entire shop. Rogue Creamery doesn't make many types of cheese - just a couple of blues and cheddar, nestled in a single refrigerated display case, but they also offer other cheeses from several different outside suppliers. To complete a cheese plate, they also sell an assortment of charcuterie items like jams and honeys, and plenty of items in the fridge. Of course, since we were traveling, we couldn't exactly buy much, so we went with one of their famous grilled cheeses: Classic Rogue Grilled Cheese ($8) - This sandwich includes a drizzle of honey on both faces of bread followed by a sprinkle of blue cheese. and then a veritable mound of cheddar, which is then sandwiched together and pressed in a panini press. The amount of cheese included creates an awesome cheese stretch. The sandwich is rich and fatty, and the bread, cheese, and honey blends creates a somewhat salty, funky and sweet bite. While the bread is toasted, I don't believed it's buttered, so it isn't that crisp. I'd like to see some additional crunchy elements in the sandwich - perhaps some toasted nuts? I dislike blue cheese immensely, but it's surprisingly mild and sweet in this sandwich, being blended and balanced with the cheddar. Would I get this sandwich again? Probably not, due to the blue cheese, but it was great to try! Rogue Creamery Rogue Gold Pepper Spread Spicy, 8oz ($7.25) - This seems to be Rogue Creamery's version of pimento cheese, colored orange by addition of plenty of red colored piquillo peppers. That adds a delightful mild spiciness along with a flavor that is kind of fruity and very peppery, different from pimentos. The cheese is high quality and there isn't any liquid precipitating out of the spread. It's easy to spread while still having plenty of soft cheese shreds. It's a great replacement for pimento cheese and I ate most of it spread on biscuits and baguette slices. (5/5) PS: Make sure to look at the best buy dates. The first couple of containers in the front looked kind of funky with oils/liquids precipitating out of the cheese. Turns out those were expiring/best by the day I went. Further back there were much fresher looking ones packed the previous day, which is what I chose to buy. Note: Do not follow google directions for parking - instead, the parking lot is a little bit to the South, right in front of a wine tasting bar and bakery. Bathrooms - Single unisex

If you like blue cheese this is a must stop and you have to have a grilled cheese sandwich. Very helpful staff helped us take some blue cheese home and of course made up a couple of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had. Blue cheese grilled sandwiches.
Wow. This place is so amazing. Stopped in for lunch and perused the small, neat store. I got a grilled cheese (the #1) and tomato soup - it was heavenly. Staff told me it's 2/3 cheddar, 1/3 blue, and honey to give it some sweetness. They also showed me their trophy for best blue cheese in the world - so cool! I sat outside and enjoyed my meal on the little table. I'll definitely be back again when I visit Ashland.

The most incredible, delicious cheese you will find. We literally only found out about this creamery after seeing a sign on the side of the freeway and ended up stopping by two weeks later on our way home. 100% worth the diversion. You can come here and eat a meal, get food to go, or take some cheese with you. They had two different grilled cheese options, so naturally we tried them both. The classic was of course delicious - fresh, flavorful cheese with those perfect cheese pulls. While I'm not a fan of fig, we also tried the special grilled cheese that had like a fig jam on it - was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it even with the figs. The sweetness complimented the cheese just right. And they also have tomato soup - delicious and a must with any grilled cheese. Definitely take home some of their cheese. We grabbed some of their special Rogue River Blue cheese. Not available year round, but it is the best blue cheese I've ever had. If you like blue cheese, this is a must buy. Staff here are absolutely wonderful - so friendly! Great stop for any cheese lover. We don't live local but wish we did so we could stop by again for more of their incredible cheese.
Saw this place on our drive up to Seattle and was intrigued. Apparently they have a very storied history about being one of the leading creameries in America. So stopped by here on a whim on the way back home, and glad that we did. Got the grilled cheese with the tomato soup as everyone recommended. And honestly one of the best grilled cheese I've ever had in my entire life. Also had to get some of the Rogue River Blue Cheese to take home, which is a limited release blue cheese (that I didn't know at the time was highly renown). After the first bite, it definitely earned its fame. Delicious. If you're ever around the Medford area and need a quick bite, I highly recommend the pit stop.

We stopped by on a Sat, so it was not packed w customers and we were able to take our time inside the store. We drove out RV, so there is parking on the right side of the store on Front St. Definitely worth the drive to experience this World class cheese awardee from 2019-2020. By the way, most of the cheese are all organic.
A cheese shop putting out some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches on the planet. We came to Central Point OR for one reason and that was this sandwich. Totally worth it. It's grilled to order and hot off the sandwich press. Filled with mild & slightly nutty cheddar, Oregon Blue cheese that's very mild and ultra creamy, and then drizzled with some local clover honey to create that magic in every single delectable bite. It's warm, gooey, cheesy, pungent, creamy, and sweet. Definitely one of the best things I put in my mouth in Oregon. The shop is filled with other goods as well, basically everything you'd need for an epic picnic. Local cheese and other cheeses from around the world. And there's a window allowing you to see the production itself. Overall a wonderful stop and if you happen to love cheese you might want to add this to your Oregon list.
Super friendly staff will walk you thru their cheesy offerings. They also sell a variety of products from other cheese makers, as well as other goodies to pair with your cheese like Olympic Provisions and Molinari meats. We shared a classic rogue grilled cheese ($8) and 12oz tomato soup ($6). While super satisfying, including the bread they used, I personally would have loved more blue! We picked up some of the Rogue River Blue (made with AUTUMN milk, wrapped in Syrah leaves soaked in pear spirits - mind blowing) and the new BluZu (soaked in yuzu-infused sake) and are looking forward to enjoying them at home. There are some indoor seating as well as outdoor tables. There was a steady flow of patrons as soon as they opened, so can see them getting super busy and probably a bit of a wait to taste if visiting later, especially on a weekend or holiday. read more
All of thier cheese is phenomenal! The service wasn't as great as I would like but I still walked away with almost $60 in cheeses . I most certainly would have purchased more Cheese had I had the right service /education on the available Cheese in their showcase. In addition, I had planned on buying a grilled cheese sandwich, but it looks like they had cleaned up everything and I didn't see any evidence of any sandwiches being made and I was there around 2:30pm on a Tuesday. I look forward to trying one next time . I'm really looking forward to putting the Caveman Blue or the Crater Lake Blue in a burger with barbecue sauce and grilled onions The Cotswald has chives in the cheese and is an amazing cheese thst would be magnificent on top of a baked potato or in mashed potatoes.. While I was in the creamery I met another woman that had driven all the way from San Diego just to get some cheese! Now that's dedication and shows the loyalty for their Cheese.. The creamery has a very well organized shop inside including various pastas, jams and sauces. Outside there was a lovely seating area. Since I had purchased some wine earlier and forgot a wine key to open them thankfully they had them available for sale. Advice on parking there is no parking out front or back. Last year, I ordered more than a hundred dollars in cheese from Rogue Creamery. I wanted their award winning Rogue River Blue for my son-in-law who loves cheese and that alone was $80. I ordered some other cheeses to try as well like lavender and chocolate stout. After it arrived, we all got together and made a lovely cheeseboard as a family and had a great time. At that time, I started a five-star review in my drafts on Yelp and I never got around to finishing it. When I realized I would be passing by the creamery on a recent road trip, I knew I had to stop. My first experience with them had been so amazing, I could not wait to visit. From what we could tell, the parking for the creamery is in the lot of a different business that is adjacent to it but it was a bit confusing for us. We travel with our dog and pets are not allowed inside so my husband and I took turns looking inside. The cheese area is quite small and there is another small shop area attached that sells miscellaneous kitchen items as well. There is a window where you can look into the creamery but no one was working when we came and there was a couple seated in front of it blocking the view anyway. They had one cheese out for sampling but it was quite plain and I did not enjoy it. The employee was not very welcoming and overall, we were pretty disenchanted. Still, we decided to get the "Classic" grilled cheese and tomato soup because it's one of my favorites and hard to mess up. We were told it would be brought out to us so we waited outside with our pup and after quite some time I asked my husband to go back inside and see if it was ready. There were only 5 other people at the shop and 3 were women already seated outside and eating their food so I really don't know what took so long. I love grilled cheese and tomato soup and I was incredibly disappointed in their take on it. The grilled cheese was made with a blue cheese and some sort of spicy honey. The flavors were a mishmash of sharp and creamy and sour and sweet and we did not enjoy it. The soup was also a big let down. It was thin with chunks of tomato and overpowering spice instead of creamy with a warm natural flavor. I realize everyone has their own tastes but I really wish I hadn't stopped here as it literally and figuratively left a bad taste in my mouth. While I might order from them again in the future, should they expand their line, I doubt I would stop here in the future. read more

We needed some blue cheese so headed over to Rogue Creamery. Always the best blue's around. The staff are always helpful when trying to choose a couple of cheeses. They not only offer their own cheeses but other favorites. We also like that they support other local businesses such as wineries and candy makers. If you want a good grilled cheese sandwich they offer those also. They are small but tasty. It is a small shop but they have a lot of items to choose from. read more

Ohmygosh. I found this place when I looked to see if there was a cheese factory type place on our trip home and it does not disappoint! We love blue cheese and they've got it. We were helped by an incredibly kind and patient and knowledgeable person. We left with 4 blue cheeses and a wedge of parmigiana reggiano as well as a cheese board and a super cute cow magnet. You must go if you're a blue cheese lover. read more

Food: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: n/a Food:5/5: Wow.....more like OMG. I ordered the classic #1. Which is a grilled cheese. My mind and my tastebuds were blown away. This place makes their own cheeses and is known for their blue. The sandwich I had was a perfect grilled cheese. It was oozing with flavor. The cheese has a blue like creaminess but it does not overpower. You even get a hint of sweetness in each bite which is amazing. This was the best grilled cheese I've ever had in my life. It was one of those, it's so good I almost cries moments. Price: 5/5: for a sandwich, some blue cheese to go and a couple other items I only paid about $25. Honestly I would pay thst for the sandwich alone. But thankfully it's no where near that price. Service: 5/5: friendly staff, knowledgeable and also free samples! Ambiance: we did not dine in, we had to take it to go. However their patio is dog friendly which us always a plus. Overall: I might just drive from LA just to eat this sandwich again. read more

I love cheese. My daughter loves cheese. Everyone I know loves cheese, and I 'm bringing home the best! Visiting from CA and made the pilgrimage to Rogue Creamery to buy the best. The new Rogue Blue is just out and my family and I will be enjoying it as soon as I get home! The shop itself has picnic tables and a large variety of goodies to go with your selection. The display case has all the favorites and the service was wonderful. In addition to my stash, I ordered soup and a sandwich for later. The tomato soup with Oregonzola is terrific! Recipe? read more
World's best bleu cheese?! Sign me up! This was one place we had intended to visit while down in the Medford area, but I never looked up where it was located. Fortuitously, we happened to drive right by it on the way somewhere else, so I made a quick U-turn and parked in the adjacent gravel lot. Obviously, we were going to leave with a hunk of the Rogue River Bleu, which we did; a half pound runs you about $22, but absolutely worth it! We also "rescued" some garlic cheese from the bin on the counter, purchased a handy cheese knife, some crackers to spread everything on, and a couple of beverages, placing them in the cooler for the four-hour drive home. Happy to say that everything made it intact, and was still as tasty, potent, and fresh as as stinky cheese can be! We've been slowly rationing it out on all sorts of things, including the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches we had last night. Is there anything the blue cheese doesn't improve?! Lots of other snacks and treats are available here, such as chips, honey, hot sauce and the like. Staff were very friendly, approachable and helpful, and there was no line to speak of, on our Sunday afternoon visit. An absolute must stop for any cheesehead! read more

I YEARN FOR THIS GRILLED CHEESE!! We were in Ashland for the OSF and before we hit the road back down to San Francisco we had to make a pit stop at Rogue Creamery. Wife and I love cheese and we don't mind it FUNKY ;) It's been a week and I still think about this grilled cheese. Look, it's not covered in gold leaf, it doesn't have truffles and it doesn't cost $25 --- it's a freakin' deliciously approachable and affordable grilled cheese and we LOVED IT! Cute cheese shop/facility filled with tons of pre-packaged picnic items; including wine/beer. There's also a large window so you can watch them make the cheese! The staff were welcoming though I wish they were a bit less modest about their cheese. Not that I needed to be sold on it but as a first-timer I would have loved a more thorough run down on the whole operation and glorious selection. A regular walked in and was offered a sample, while the newbie (that's me) was left wondering which cheese(s) to pick. Neither here nor there, we had a great cheese experience. There were three grilled cheeses on the menu and the third was sold out (bummer as it had fig jam on it, mmmmm), so we opted for one of each of the other two (see pictures, Classic & Hopyard). At an average $6/sando these were FANTASTIC. Loaded with cheese, perfectly toasted, oooey-goooey with a smack of blue funk! They are cut in half, making it perfect to share :) Washed it down with a cold pilzner which was the perfect palate cleanser. If it weren't 100deg out that day we definitely would have added a tomato soup to the mix (sounded yummy). HOT TIP - if you're getting cheese to-go, like we did, be sure to be mindful of the moisture/liquid whey that the blue cheese will release. We didn't realize this and let's just say the car smelled like blue cheese for a few days (I could see some ppl liking this, lol). To sum it all up --- award winning cheeses, amazing grilled cheeses and just a very necessary stop if you're passing through the Medford/Ashland area. Also, if you're not a blue cheese fan FEAR NOT, they have a selection of other cheeses notably their own Cheddars!! Happy Dining... read more

My coworker recommended that I try the grilled cheese sandwiches here and swears their the best. As someone who loves blue cheese a lot, this grilled cheese lived up to the expectation. This was not a healthy post-hike food option at all, but delicious nonetheless. I only regret not having this with their tomato soup, as I'm sure the acidity from that would've helped to cut down the richness from the grilled cheese. I'll be back again for that combo! If I recall correctly, there are only two grilled cheese options: one is with blue cheese, and the other is with their cheddar I think--an option for those who don't like blue cheese read more

If ever near Medford and you love cheese. It's a must to stop to get their award winning rogue creamery blue cheese. They have a great selection of cheeses. Cute store inside with some local goods. Must try their grilled cheese sandwiches- it's so good. We tried both and they were great. We already ran out of their cheese- will need to figure how to get some ship to Vegas. read more
