On a weekday morning right during opening, as soon as I opened the front door, I could smell funky blue cheese wafting through the entire shop. Rogue Creamery doesn't make many types of cheese - just a couple of blues and cheddar, nestled in a single refrigerated display case, but they also offer other cheeses from several different outside suppliers. To complete a cheese plate, they also sell an assortment of charcuterie items like jams and honeys, and plenty of items in the fridge. Of course, since we were traveling, we couldn't exactly buy much, so we went with one of their famous grilled cheeses: Classic Rogue Grilled Cheese ($8) - This sandwich includes a drizzle of honey on both faces of bread followed by a sprinkle of blue cheese. and then a veritable mound of cheddar, which is then sandwiched together and pressed in a panini press. The amount of cheese included creates an awesome cheese stretch. The sandwich is rich and fatty, and the bread, cheese, and honey blends creates a somewhat salty, funky and sweet bite. While the bread is toasted, I don't believed it's buttered, so it isn't that crisp. I'd like to see some additional crunchy elements in the sandwich - perhaps some toasted nuts? I dislike blue cheese immensely, but it's surprisingly mild and sweet in this sandwich, being blended and balanced with the cheddar. Would I get this sandwich again? Probably not, due to the blue cheese, but it was great to try! Rogue Creamery Rogue Gold Pepper Spread Spicy, 8oz ($7.25) - This seems to be Rogue Creamery's version of pimento cheese, colored orange by addition of plenty of red colored piquillo peppers. That adds a delightful mild spiciness along with a flavor that is kind of fruity and very peppery, different from pimentos. The cheese is high quality and there isn't any liquid precipitating out of the spread. It's easy to spread while still having plenty of soft cheese shreds. It's a great replacement for pimento cheese and I ate most of it spread on biscuits and baguette slices. (5/5) PS: Make sure to look at the best buy dates. The first couple of containers in the front looked kind of funky with oils/liquids precipitating out of the cheese. Turns out those were expiring/best by the day I went. Further back there were much fresher looking ones packed the previous day, which is what I chose to buy. We picked up a whole roaster, some thighs, and a few boneless/skinless chicken breasts...and this quality of the chicken is astounding. Different texture, flavor, and not fatty. The roaster turned out SUPERB- the best we'd ever experienced, the thighs I cooked in the air fryer, and the flavor and texture- very light skin, no fat, was phenomenal. The chicken breast were also of like quality. YES, it's more expensive, but the quality and the HEALTH factor of Draper Valley Farms Chicken is well-worth it. (included pic of our roaster) Then just two days ago, on a quick shopping spree to pick up a few of their HIGH QUALITY items at the meat counter (always SO good!)- and I purchased one of their Burgers (Online Ketchup & Mustard Only) & fresh fries to-go from the deli. We got the tank filled and Sonia came out again with a gift of some delicious and mild, fresh sheep's and goat's milk cheeses. The sheep's milk cheese was heart-shaped and was garnished with various edible flower petals. We ate it too fast to take a picture. Here's a picture of some of the goat's milk cheese...packed in oil, garlic, peppercorns, and various herbs including rosemary, sage, thyme, and lavender...yummmmmm. I'm not sure if this is a retail shop or not, but if you get a chance to try Sonia's cheeses, I highly recommend them.

They have sausage, of course, steaks, seafood, poultry, jerky, the works. They have a hard jerky and a soft jerky. I thought the hard jerky was too hard for me, but the soft jerky was perfect. I picked up some of the brisket jerky, the Japanese jerky, and their original jerky. Some of the items they make themselves, some of the items are brought in, but everything is good. They also have wines, sauces, condiments, the works. They also have a full on lunch counter, and in the back, for the kids or the kids at heart, they even have classic video games. Not only donkey Kong, but things such as pole position! They are $.50 now, instead of just a quarter, though.... I had the mushroom Swiss burger, with coleslaw, instead of fries on the side. The burger was done, medium, as I asked, and it was delicious! The coleslaw was very good, it was lightly dressed, and it was like a vinegar type dressing. The dressing wasn't too strong, it was just right. Lunch was a very large portion. Besides the jerky, I also got a blueberry sausage, and a chicken apple sausage, those are going to be excellent. For the quality of the things that you get get, the prices are reasonable. I will continue to stop here whenever I am passing through town. Thank you.
