Filet mignon with potatoes gratin
Tom E.

Great service, nice atmosphere with a fireplace and open circular floor plan. Filet mignon with blue cheese was flavorful and perfectly cooked.

The view from the patio.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I took my daughter and son-in-law here for a nice dinner away from the kids. Beasy's did not disappoint. We sat out on the patio. The view and weather were lovely. Started off with drinks and crabcakes. Then salads and bread came. We all ordered different things and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I got the filet and prawns and it was the best of all 3 meals. I did order my filet medium rare and it came medium well. Normally I would have sent it back but it was still very tender, juicy and flavorful. The server was nice but a little slow. I would definitely go back again!

Caprese salad. The mozzarella melted in my mouth and was absolutely to die for!

I was recommended by a few people on Ashland Peeps to try this restaurant. We had a very pleasant experience! Cost-wise, this restaurant is a little spendy. But it is worth every penny! We had two people, 2 cocktails each, a shared appetizer, each had an entree, and a shared dessert. After tip we had spent around 170 dollars. When we arrived, we were 15 minutes early but we were seated quickly. Our hostess was very friendly. We were greeted in a timely manner by our waitress, her name slips my mind at the moment, but that is not due to her lack of service. I would say she was just the right amount of attentive. Not overbearing and we never had to wait. Overall, I would say our service was great, and the restaurant was full while we were dining. Food was AMAZING! We shared steamer clams. The sauce had a little spice to it. Just enough! I opted for the caprese salad to start my meal and it did not disappoint! The mozzarella was heavenly. For my entree I had scallops. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce they were in was heavenly. My partner had an all natural filet mignon "oscar style". It came with Dungeness crab and house made hollandaise. It was to die for! I would say my overall experience was wonderful. The atmosphere, service, and cuisine was amazing. I can't wait to come back when the creekside terrace and deck are open in the summer!

She's incredible. We reserved a patio seat and loved it. Our server was Bryce (Brice?). She was very good and fun and when we expressed how much we enjoy visiting Cocorico, she told us how the owners treat them all so well and that they're like a little family and that everyone loves working for them. I could already tell that from our previous visits, but it was so good to hear from the source. Randy ordered the Oregeat Spritz which is not on the menu but can be made anyway. He loves it. He started off his meal with an order of garlic bread and the deviled eggs, a new to us app. I wasn't going to eat any but I couldn't resist. It's 4 overflowing halves and crazy yummy. And be sure to add some of the chips in the bowl to your bites. Mmm mmm MMMMM! He also ordered the pork chop for the first time and loved everything about the dish. I had the market fish which was halibut. So good. And then we shared the rice pudding which had Dulce de leche and candied hazelnuts - so good. Every experience we've had here has been excellent and it just feels so good to be around such good vibes. We can't wait to visit again in March!

In a dining landscape often cluttered with performative fussiness, Cocorico on North Ist Street…read moreoffers a welcome recalibration. Chef Nat Borsi's modern Mediterranean haven is a testament to substance over style, a place where "farm-to-table" isn't a marketing slogan but a palpable ethos. The menu, which deftly avoids the trap of being overextended, delivers singular triumphs. The Mushroom Bolognese is a masterclass in vegetarian depth, a richly savory ragout that satisfies on a primal level. The house-made pastas shine; the Lamb Bucatini offers meaty, soulful complexity, while the Seafood Pasta is a testament to the pristine ingredients of the Pacific Northwest. For the carnivore, the Roasted Chicken is a beautifully simple, perfectly executed dish that speaks to the kitchen's bedrock technique. With service that is as warm as the intimate, welcoming ambiance, Cocorico is not just a meal-it's a cornerstone of the Ashland dining experience.

SO happy we chose this spot! Service is stupendous:…read morefriendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, fun. The Kare-Kare is amazing: the peanut sauce was delectable, and the braised beef just seemed to melt away. Love the green mango salad. Julienne cut mango, perfectly ripened for the dressing for a not-too-sweet blend of flavorings. Perfect. Can accommodate gluten-free. I'll be back again very soon.

Should you eat here? My recommendation is:…read more Yes, if you've stopped by every "New American" eatery in Ashland and want to relive your youthful visit to the Philippines and can't find any other place. No, if you're expecting perfect execution of the classics. Half of what you'd eat here, is more along the lines of "Pinoy-inspired". If you go here, be aware: - There is no fish sauce on the table - There is no vinegar chili sauce on the table - There is no salt on the table - A lot of the dishes here are missing many, many traditional ingredients. Many of which can be pre-stocked ahead of time or grown locally, so there shouldn't be a good reason why these dishes shouldn't have at least 50% of the base requirements. Adobo Chicken Seasoned and fairly traditional tasing with a good bit of seasoning and flavor. IMO lacking some tanginess, but that's a family style preference and can change from place to place. Green Mango Salad Has all the ingredients of a green mango salad but lacks the most important ingredient; shrimp paste and a pinch of salt. Kare-Kare Avoid this dish. I ordered this because one of the first photos showed shank bones (shank or flank is used as an acceptable replacement for what is traditionally Ox tail), so I was fully expecting something of that nature, especially considering shank is plentiful in this area. The meat added was very dry slices. The base lacked salt and fat during the cooking process, so it came out very bland. The string beans were boiled (again without any salt). String beans in this dish are traditionally served fresh, or if you cook them, you cook them in the broth, and/or pre cook them with some type of sodium on a pan and thrown into the pot. And because the base lacked fat that would have come from shank or ox tails, the base really suffered. Another missing ingredient was shrimp paste, and braised eggplant. Very disappointing. Sinigang Don't order this. This dish tased like water with a little bit of tamarind powder. This dish is missing so many ingredients: Taro root, okra, chili, fish sauce, fresh tamarind, water spinach. Powder is fine but it's missing so much that makes this dish unique and flavorful. Also note that this place is on the pricier side, so not getting the basics right hurt a little more than just the wallet.

It's just when it came time to order, we had to try several times to flag down our server. We started with Northwest Salad (delish) and the Baby Pretzel Bites were the STAR of the evening. Warm, delicious, and exactly what you'd hope they'd be. The cheese sauce dip was a little thin. The Fresh Vegetable Stir-Fry was okay but we never got the side of tofu so had to ask for it when the meal was almost over. Then it was just grilled with no flavor. The server took it off the bill. Prawn Linguine was overly sauced, salty, and spicy, however the prawns were cooked perfectly I'm thinking this is the kind of place you get a drink at the bar and a pile of fries but dinner for 3 (1 beer, 1 na drink, 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 2 mains) was ~$99 all in. Had to get up and go to the bar to get our server again for the bill. *Sigh*. At least it was close to the theatre.

We decided to sit in the bar while our dog hung out in the climate-controlled car nearby. Both of us had the Buddha Bowl with wild salmon. This bowl was just that: full of veggies, came with two delicious sauces/dressings, and included a mound of rice. The salmon was perfect, a generous slab that went well with the rest of the bowl. It ruined our lunch experience on top of everything else. Would not recommend this place.
