I've been to Wild River a handful of times over the last few years. Loved the pizza, onion rings and Caesar salads. But today, I wasn't very hungry and ordered the shrimp appetizer. I was told there would be five prawns in a butter sauce. However, what came were eight tiny shrimp -- maybe 1.5 inches each. The butter sauce, which also had lots of chopped tomatoes, pretty much covered the shrimp and then some. This makes sense because besides not being prawns, the shrimp was rubbery and tasteless. I don't understand why I wasn't told that there were no prawns today, to see if I wanted to order something else instead. In retrospect, I should have returned the dish but our server (Beau) was so nice that I just didn't have the heart to do so. I decided to get a to-go container, thinking, I dunno, maybe the butter sauce would season the shrimp and it would taste better in a few hours. I ended up leaving the shrimp behind instead. So, great service, very clean and nice folks. Just stick to pizza, folks. And don't order the shrimp appetizer. read more

A staple in pizza place for my family! We camp at the Rogue River in the summer, and we always come into town and eat here on our last night. The unique tri-level layout of the interior is so fun, and I enjoy the old-timey pizza place ambiance a lot! The newer addition of the arcade was great because it kept the younger kids busy until the food came. We started with two appetizers, the Crostini Caprese and garlic bread. They were both delicious! We also all got the Wild River Root Beer and loved it. For pizzas, we got a pepperoni pizza, a cheese pizza, and my favorite; the BLT pizza. The BLT pizza was garlic sauce, mozzarella and bacon, then topped with lettuce and tomato. The lettuce made it a little hard to eat, but it was so good I didn't mind at all! The crust was good, I don't really like thick pizzas, and I thought that the thin crust was perfect. Overall a great classic pizza place, and will be returning next summer! read more

Came here after strawberry picking. Super friendly service and delicious food. Jalapeño poppers were delicious, the sweet and sour IPA wings were juicy, flavorful and crispy! We got a Margherita pizza and that was also super yummy- I wish I had asked for it well done. I got my son the noodles and marinara and there was way too much sauce on it, but he still liked it. read more

The BLT pizza came to the table over cooked. There was hardly any sauce or cheese, the toppings were chopped too fine all tossed together like a salad!? It was a BLT pizza so I expected a nice slice of tomatoe with bite size pieces of bacon. The slices didnt go through all the way so it was a mess to pick up and it was cut like it was for hors d'oeuvre not pizza slices to pull apart. The only reason the review gets a 2 is because the waitress was exceptional, she was one person to a party of about 40 people all ordering drinks and food..I give her a 10! read more

We are searching for a great pizza restaurant in Grants Pass, this one reminded me of one we used to have in hometown called the Pizza Mill. My daughter ordered the Cesar Salad and it was really good. We tried two different pizzas one with just an olive oil base which probably would have been better with a red sauce and the other was a standard pizza can't remember the name. My husband thought it was really good, I'm not really a fan of how the meat was shaved thin and piled on the pizza. The red sauce isn't sweet which is a bonus in my opinion and the thin crust was perfectly crispy. I'd probably try something different from the menu next time we go. The beer was ok, but I think it may have been too cold or previously frozen in the lines. One girl was the server, hostess, bartender and she was doing a great job managing it all. Pulled up to a blue split level that looks more like a house than a brewery. We came in from the north so not very good signage, thought my gps took us to the wrong place, until a couple walked out with a pizza box. So, we knew we were in the right spot. Went with 3 coworkers. It was not busy, but alit was only 4pm in the afternoon. My provider likes to eat early. We were seated right away and got our drinks ordered shortly after. Apps came out shortly after our drinks were delivered. The basket of fries was just soso. A little over done and not much seasoning/salt on them. The jalapeño poppers were pretty good. Hand battered and large. The sauce that is served with them is a little bit weird. It was like a sweet chili ranch. The regular ranch was better with them. One person got the Spirit of America added jalapeños and black olives. One person got build your own. My provider and I got the margarita pizza. Both the margarita pizzas came in hand tossed dough. Sounds great until you see there was not much topping and a lot ( A LOT) of crust. My provider eat only the inside of the pizza and left all the crust like a little kid. I did try the homemade root beer. It was good but I say they had an orange cream soda I would have liked to try but o don't do much carbonation. When heading out to go my provider asked if the margarita came on the thin crust. The waitress said yes all pizza can come in hand tossed or thin. Damn, we should have asked a head of time. Visited my mom in Grants Pass recently and this is her favorite pizza in town so we had to try it. I ordered a lunch special with a slice plus soup or salad. Opted to try their minestrone. Pretty good deal for $9. I don't eat a lot so it was more than plenty for me. My mom got the same with the salad and If you are hungrier I'd say pick the salad vs soup. The minestrone had a delicious tomato base and was very good. The pizza was crispy on the bottom so you could pick up to it and tasted yummy - both crunchy and delicious chewy, not thin but more thin than thick/puffy. Seems like very popular place, large inside and now run by the 3rd generation of the family. They are doing something right to be in business that long. Check it out! read more

I am a fan of ALL wild river pizza locations (including the pub). Harbor location is my fav however Grants Pass was a solid second tonight! The deli delight and jet sled from GP was really good! We are a strong fan of their beer/root beer and cream soda too. Service top notch read more

Okay so the vibe for this place is kind of weird. It just doesn't feel like a restaurant? It's a weird split level carpeted building so I wasn't sure how the food would be going in, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality. First, the sweet & sour wings are a must. We got them based on the recommendation of someone with us and they were really unique and tasty! Sweet with a little spice and ours were perfectly cooked. Definitely a fun little twist on a traditional wing. My entree was the Cajun pasta and I basically devoured it. The noodles are made in house and you can taste that! They're really tasty and the sauce has a great flavor. It hit the spot after a lot of traveling we'd been doing! read more

This place is great! Staff is extremely friendly and attentive, and the food is amazing. Definitely would recommend asking about their flights of beer, it's a great deal and a great way to try their brews. The interior is very spacious and was a bit strange at first, but I really enjoyed looking at their historic timeline that you can find on the walls. It's very casual and has a very lowkey vibe. Their daily special are SO affordable, especially the Wednesday wing deal. Also, be sure to check out the arcade! Majority of the games are for younger children, but my boyfriend and I had a great time playing the Walking Dead game. We love this place and absolutely will be coming back in the future. read more

I understand the restaurant business is tough! BUT...had a discussion with the waitress as to what is a pasta salad and what is not. What is not is: Ten pieces of pasta; one 3" piece of salami uncut; one slice of deli cheddar cut in half and laid on top; one 2" square of Monterey Jack cheese laid on top of the cheddar; four slices of black olive; romaine lettuce to fill in. I do not know where the chef was trained but it was really unattractive and amateurish. OH, AND... coffee was lukewarm at 11:45 a.m. and my DELICIOUS soup was cold and had to be reheated. OF COURSE, you can charge and feed tourists anything, but local people will think before spending $55 for lunch for two. Even thought there are some bad reviews I thought I would give this place a shot. Ok sure glad I did because everything was great! We were greeted when we checked in for a table. Even though we were told the wait was 15 minutes to be seated, I felt like it was on time or even faster! I had the house salad and chicken wings (w/sauce on the side). The salad greens and toppings were fresh. I was very impressed that the tomatoes actually taste like backyard tomatoes! My wings were perfectly fried to perfection and I dunked them into blue cheese and ranch dressing. My friend ordered a beer and the large calzone and ate the entire thing before I finished my wings and salad. Mind you my food came out first. I guess the calzone was that delicious since it disappeared so quickly! All in all our food was great. Service was on point as well. I'm so bummed I didn't get the chance to take some photos before everyone started diving into the food (ordered to-go) We ordered some of their in-house brewed beers to enjoy while we waited for our food. We ordered beer batter fries, jalapeño poppers, a family size house salad, kids chicken fingers with fruit, a Large Hawaiian and a Large pepperoni pizza. All of the food was fresh made and high quality. The chicken tenders were slices of fresh chicken breast. The pizza was cooked in their wood fire pizza oven. The jalapeño poppers were fresh made- huge jalapeños LOADED with goodness. The salad had an abundance of fresh toppings. I was super impressed with the quality of everything! To top it all off, if you spend $15 or more on food... they'll fill a growler for you for 6 bucks! 10/10 would recommend giving them a try if you're ever in the area! read more

The bad: The service. Was seated within 5 mins of arriving. And within a few mins the waitress took our order. Pizza and 2 salads. She asked "would you like your salads before the pizza?" We say "yes". And away she went..........40 mins later the salads finally arrived. And during those 40 mins not a single word from anyone. No "sorry for the delay" .....no "sorry we are short staffed"....no explanation whatsoever. And then 8 mins later here comes the pizza. Well I guess the salads did come before the pizza. A simple acknowledgment that they realized we had been waiting for so long would have gone a long ways. The good: Both the salads and the pizza were very good. Went looking for our favorite Mexican Restaurant in J'Ville for our 45 year anniversay dinner but it was closed. We wound up at Wild River Pizza in Medford. Was a good move. Jenn was working upstairs and just clearly overwhelmed. Pizza was made incorrectly and calzone was gross.. unfortunately the kids didn't like the burgers and we were well over the wait.. won't be coming back. After all these years.... Took my family from out of town here for lunch. When we arrived it was slow, and was seated right away. I had been craving a burger and had always had a great one ... until Saturday. The server asked " pink or no pink". Pink I said. Well that made no difference the "mushroom burger arrived without any noticeable mushrooms, he showed they were UNDER the slice of Unmelted Cheese, and as for the "pink" none. But in defense of the frycook the patty was thinner than what would be expected at the 'Arches' , which is probably where I should go next time and just take a can of mushrooms. I've had Wild River once before in Cave Junction so I decided to give this location a shot. I went with the mini Spirit of America which is Canadian bacon, pepperoni, and Linguica. I got a side of the "famous" pub fries and an eclair for dessert which I heard many people rave about. The pizza for me was middle of the road. The Linguica is the best part because I believe it comes from Taylor's Sausages which is actually world famous. The dough has a sweetness to it that I didn't really enjoy. It made the whole thing taste slightly off. It just wasn't for me. Maybe it was an off batch? The fries were coated and lightly seasoned. Nothing too famous about them. My favorite part of the meal was the eclair. The chocolate was delicious and it was about as big as my head! All in all, I probably will try other pizza joints before coming back.
