Beer tastes fresh and not bad, every one we tried seemed missing aroma hops added late in brewing cycle. For food we got nachos and these disappointed due to chips absorbing all of the fryer grease and the cheese sauce not tasting like cheese, assuming it is some kind of béchamel but no discernible cheese flavor. Nachos desperately need some fresh component like pico etc. I added one star because service was excellent. read more

Good burgers, nachos, and Hazy IPA! Maddie waited on us and she was great! We sat inside but will go back to Check out the outdoor area and music. read more

Great beer super friendly service. Would love to come here on a summer day and enjoy the outdoor space. I will be back.

Will be back, this restauran/bar has a great environment and helpful service. Great place to have a beer and enjoy a meal.

Great vibe and an amazing back yard area. There is a food truck there with the best steak fries! Everyone working there is super friendly. Opens a bit later than some others in the area. Lots of shaded area too in the back. Definitely worth stopping by! read more

Great local craft pub with excellent food. Servers are fantastic, one of my favs in Medford

Random Sunday in December. No live music and it doesn't matter. This is the PERFECT place to gather with a couple of friends or a large group of friends. This place is everything you'd want in a local brewery. Super chill, not at all pretentious. The fire pit is massive and gives off a ton of heat once it's been on for a bit. IF the weather is crap, then there's plenty of heated/ covered patio or you could chill indoors and play darts and watch TV. The food truck is currently open Th - Sun and everything is made fresh to order. It has an extensive menu that has something for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike. These craft brews are freakin' delicious! Their top sellers are Jabberwocky and Workers Ale and luckily keep those 2 on tap at all times *YAY and YUM* Great brew, tasty food, local hidden gem *5-stars* read more

Great spot. Bartender was very nice. Location was great. Met two great old gentlemen named Vern and Dick. They were enjoying some beers and were super hospitable as customers. Great beer selection. Prices were great. Super comfortable outdoor seating area. Would highly recommend. Would have loved to have purchased a souvenir glass as we are out of towners. read more

We came specifically for beer and pizza - as listed on the menu on yelp. Well that's wrong - no pizza anymore but a food truck on site. Staff didn't seem to care about outdated website menu. Beer was ok. Ambience is dive bar inside with lawn outside - But you have to walk through the smoking area to get there. So needless to say, it didn't feel very family friendly. read more

Great Beer, Great Staff and Great Vibes. So glad we found this place! The food and vibes were amazing. Dog friendly, family friendly! read more

We wanted to get a beer and hadn't been to Walkabout for a while. We ordered a couple of beers and headed out to their large backyard area with lots of tables, grass and a fire pit (for colder weather). We found a great covered spot and sat down to relax. We had our puppy who just loved all of the grass. It was such a relaxing day we could have stayed there for a while. Everyone was just relaxing and we ended talking with several people as well as met several dogs. They have a good selection of beer and plenty of space to enjoy your beer. read more

The food truck on site was awesome! Really great burgers and fries! Service at the food truck, and to get a beverage on the inside was very good! I got the Cider and it was pretty tasty. Has a very cool backyard feel to this brewery. Went there for the music outside this past Saturday and the musician was very good! Had someone not told me where this place was I would've never known it's in an industrial area next to UPS ! read more

Still one of the best. Not a place that stays open for a late night although if they have a sizable crowd they may ignore the clock. And it's maybe odd that is comment on this but they have made one of the nicest backyards. One that everyone would like to have. And the people working there??.......they are all like someone that you wished were your neighbor. Their food truck is only there two or three days but still has made me one of the best burgers I have ever had. It's laid back so don't go there thinking of a big party atmosphere, just think they'll mostly all be dog lovers because your pooch is welcomed. read more

Walkabout Brewing - Pulled Pork Nachos - Breweries Near Me - Medford, Oregon

I was in town on a business trip. My last call of the day was located to a brewery that I liked. The last time I had been there was during Covid. I couldn't recall the name and couldn't quite remember where it was, and wasn't finding it. I checked the Yelp-O-Tron, and still wasn't finding it. I did find this place, and figured that maybe I just got the name wrong. While it was close by, it wasn't the same place. I finally gave up, and went inside. I was the first customer of the day. I sat at the bar, and ordered a pint from the young man behind the bar. There was an older fella sitting at the end of the bar, Don Younger-fashion, drinking a pint. They asked if I wanted to sit outside. I said no, that I was a child of western Oregon and preferred the shade to the sun. They recommended that I go out and look anyway, so I got up and walked out to look. I was blown away at how beautiful it was. Nice grass, games, chairs, fence, lighting. There is a food truck, but it was too early to be open yet. They did an excellent job. I went back in to drink my beer. I chatted both of them up. Turns out the fella sitting at the end was the brewer that started and owned the joint. We got on pretty well. We talked about why I was there. I told him I was there on business, and that I had been looking for this other brewery when I found his place. He said that it was likely Opposition Brewing, and I said yes. He said that they had gone out of business. I ordered a second pint. The younger guy had to leave and left the bar in charge of a young woman. We talked for a while about where she was from and the fires of four years ago. I bought a jar of their dill pickles. Meanwhile, a steady stream of people had been coming in the front door. Unfortunately, I had to leave and head north. The beer was most excellent. The pickles are still working their way through my sandwiches. And the outdoor area is extremely pleasant. I would go here every week if I lived in the area. I will be back again, though. read more

Some good beers here. But very little food. Almost nothing vegetarian. The "back yard" area is very nice. Huge gas fore pit. Certainly a good place to come for beer on a sunny day read more

This place is unassuming from the outside, but it's worth investigating. Located in an industrial area, it is an oasis. Literally. The rear area is grassy and lush with picnic tables, misters, and shade cloths. They have their own food truck which provides delicious burgers and nachos with an array of sauces. Beets are good too. It can be a bit slow, but be patient. You're there to relax, right? Even though pets are welcome, it would be nice to have water easily available. read more

A fly dive bombed into my beer and drowned - well, maybe not a bad way to go. The beers here are delicious! We sampled several, including crimson sky and a wheat beer before settling on the Jabberwocky, a nod to Alice in Wonderland. Sitting socially-distanced inside and outside is very doable here. We sat outside under an open air overhang and enjoyed our beer and big Bavarian pretzel (with cheese and mustard). The staff here are super friendly. We would definitely return! read more

Loved this place! This was our first stop on our trip the beer was great! The best thing about this place was their outdoor area like OMG! Beautiful. There was bench tables, patio table and a huge fire pit. I highly recommend this place. The food was also amazing I was just bummed out they ran out of cheese for the pretzel. Barely any atmosphere here. We were here years ago and it hasn't changed. Beer is fair and there's a nice patio area out back but hardly any tables and a bunch of smokers. AND they used plastic cups because they were "out" of glasses. Um, there are only 10 people here. Hmm. read more

Amazing beers. I need not say more. Just go and relax with Dingo ate my hazy. They need to get coasters.

Friendly staff and decent beer, tucked away in an odd, industrial part of town, but the backyards great if you have a dog. They didn't have food the day I visited, but the beer tender found some tasty chips and served 'em hot. The vibe was of a lot of regulars. read more

Excellent Beer and service, Great outdoor area, dog friendly too. The food truck prepared good food too. :)

Had an absolute blast here. I've been to several brewery tours and this was easily the best. It's a small operation where you can see how much care and effort they put into their craft. Cameron was super cool and explained the beer making process from start to finish. Did I mention they have bomb-delicious pizza too? The atmosphere was comfortable and cozy, my entire family felt extremely welcome here. Next time I'm in Southern Oregon I'm coming in for a pint and a pizza. Favorite beers were the Workers IPA, and the Croctoberfest (which was in season) keep up the great work guys! Hope to see you all again soon. read more

Great brewery across the street from a giant distributor. This is a true David and Goliath of quality over quantity. Walkabout serves the locals good craft brew made on location from a great up and coming brewer. When I came here the tap room was not ready to be open to the public but I did get to check it out and its really nice inside. I did however get to try the brews they have to offer. They do a nice run of Jabberwocky Ale which is a English Strong Ale, two IPAs one called Point the Bone and the other is Redback. I only tried the Point the Bone its a nice balance of malts and hops. I also tried Workers Pale Ale which is a nice American pale ale that packs a nice punch to your palate. If your in Southern Oregon and want to get in good with the locals hop on over to Walkabout and have some good conversation paired with some good brew. Owner here is super nice make sure to say hello to him. CHEERS MATE!!!!! read more

We stopped by this excellent brewery on our way through town. If you stop by, hope that you have Erin working behind the bar. She is awesome. On her advice we did a 50/50 blend of the two beers we initially purchased. One was the Jabberwocky and the other the Workers Pale Ale. It was a great blend. The price of a pint was $4.50. We are from Seattle and that is lower than we usually find, even during happy hour. Growler fills are $8.00. It almost makes me want to move to Medford! Excellent brewery their "Werkers" Ale is a terrific Pale Ale. Everyone is very friendly.

First, the staff is great I didn't get her name but she was friendly and helpful. Pizza is good, food crust and tasty. The beer is also good, I had the flight of 6. All was good, had every available beer which was 5 and doubled up on the strong ale. They got 4 cause they ran out of 2 beers. If they did, it would be a 5 regardless it's a place to have drinks. read more

Awesome beer choice, cool environment and a good variety of food trucks. Super clean. I got a shirt!

I went here for the first time with a group of friends and this place is great! There is a nice space inside, but outside is amazing! The patio area was shady enough to sit while the sun was still out, and after the sun set there were cool lights that kept the space well lit. The staff were super friendly and informative. The food was amazing (we got the chicken pesto nachos, pepperoni pizza, chicken enchiladas and pretzel to share between all of us) and all of it was delicious! Will definitely be back! read more
