Wonderful food! Great music. Amazing customer service! The kombucha flight is a great way to find you favorite kombucha.

Great food , great kumbucha. Solid cocktail, beer and wine selection. We tried multiple food dishes and all were fantastic. We will definitely come back and try everything else.

Cute little place with delicious kombucha. A bit on the sweet side but I loved my strawberry lavender buch! My husband had the peaches and bourbon and liked that too! Moxie focaccia bread on the way!

I had a delightful take on Bahn Mi with chicken, and marinated pickled veg on homemade bread.

The service is good, we've been there with our family and with a large group, and they have always been very patient and friendly. Alchemy is in my top 3 favorite places for a dressy dinner when we are visiting Ashland. The only slightly negative thing I have to say is that we were there celebrating a birthday once and at the end of the meal our server brought out a candle on a small, flat ceramic dish. The birthday girl's comment was, "You just spent $300 on dinner and all they brought me for my birthday was a candle?" It seemed a little chintzy since most places will give you an actual dessert, not just a candle, but at least they brought a candle. Other than that tiny little thing, we still love to eat here and will be back when visiting in the future.

The latter changes seasonally--in our case it was a dashi broth with a variety of local mushrooms and vegetables. Both dishes were good, with my steak cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes amazingly creamy without tasting too buttery; the dashi broth was delicious as well. We also split the steak tartare, the house bread, and the chips & dip (seasonal special) as appetizers. With the exception of the chips & dip, the appetizers were good but nothing outstanding. The chips & dip, however, were REALLY GOOD! I did not know you could elevate potato chips like that, but their house-made chips are delicious and I would highly recommend trying them. Both my fiancé and I were not a huge fan of the sauce (just a little too creamy, it's really smooth though so if you like creamy sauces you'll probably enjoy it!), but just eating the plain chips was amazing. They even brought us a second serving of chips for free since we hadn't used all of the dip! We also ordered a pear tart for dessert which I would also recommend getting! Delicious crust and good pear flavor.

Bar Juillet - Warmed Olives

Bar Juillet: Where Perfect Cocktails Meet Perfect Fried Chicken…read more Bar Juillet has quickly become one of our absolute favorite go-to spots in Ashland and Southern Oregon. It all starts with the best fried chicken you'll find anywhere in the region. Hands down. This restaurant and cocktail bar delivers on every front. The cocktails are crafted with real skill and balance, and their wine list is outstanding a thoughtful mix of local favorites and world-renowned producers that shows just how seriously they take their program. I've eaten here multiple times, and one thing you can always count on is consistency. The service is warm and attentive, the food is always executed beautifully, and the atmosphere makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the night. They do get busy on weekends, so reservations are smart, but even if you end up waiting, it's absolutely worth it. And if you can grab a seat at the bar, do it. The bartenders here make it an experience all on its own. Reliable, delicious, and truly one of Ashland's standout spots. Bar Juillet never disappoints.

We were the first people there, and someone yelled from the back of the bar, "We're not open yet." No one came over to greet us or let us wait for a few minutes, which felt surprisingly rude. When we returned and were seated (Table 12), we ordered quite a bit -- warm olives, crudo, two arugula salads, a pasta dish, wine, and a mocktail. Service was extremely slow. Our olives didn't arrive until around 4:35. After our food arrived, we were largely ignored. When the waitress finally came by and asked how everything was, we said it was good, but she didn't ask if we wanted anything else or offer dessert menus. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually started stacking our own plates as a signal that we were ready for the next course. After another long stretch, my mother flagged her down so we could order dessert and coffee. The food was good, but the service was inattentive enough that it really took away from the experience.

The second I saw on IG that their special was (what I call) a bánh mì-inspired pizza, I knew it had my name written all over it. It was absolutely outstanding, and honestly, I wish I had eaten it there because it deserved to be enjoyed fresh. The pepperoni is still a favorite every single time. The potato wedges remain undefeated, but LORDT... dipping them in the chimichurri sauce (because I like making adventurous sauce choices) took them to a whole new level. The wings weren't my personal favorite, but once I gave them the chimichurri treatment, everything was right again. And finally... the chocolate cake. I obviously had to get right into it (I have no picture to show for it). I generously shared two bites with my significant other before happily devouring the rest myself. No regrets.

It was barely enough for one person, about the same size as a Blaze pizza. It was surprising to see this kind of trendy spot in the area--and honestly, where did all the hipsters come from? This might be a fun place to take out-of-town guests, but as a regular go-to when you're hungry and want something really satisfying, I'd probably skip it.

The restaurant was clean, and the female staff member who helped us was friendly and upbeat. At first, we were given the regular menu with no happy hour listed, but when we asked, she promptly brought us the happy hour menu. Happy hour is available Tuesday-Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. I ordered a Mojito, and watching it being made was a bit amusing--the bartender shook the cocktail shaker very slowly. It lacked the usual bar energy, giving the place a more casual feel. For food, I had two asada street tacos, which were simple and easy to eat but fairly average in flavor. My husband ordered the Chile Relleno, which was very cheesy and a bit too rich for his taste. Overall, the service was pleasant and the happy hour makes it a convenient stop, but the food didn't quite stand out.
