    Fettuccini Alfredo

Sat for 20 minutes not acknowledged at all. 3 other people in the restaurant. I know it's tough out there but come on, yall. Tried to give this place a second chance but apparently they just don't care. Avoid!

One day in Eureka.... husband wanted oysters and this was the recommendation we got from a local. parking easy. view spectacular! right on the water. only 1 person working when we arrived (2 by the time we left). there is indoor and outdoor seating. The temperature and view was much nicer outside. Service was very friendly. She was able to answer drink questions so well (found out she started as a bartender). We loved our food and drink. I've already recommended this to my son who lives nearby. Looking forward to another visit.

Stopped by here with my parents during a coastal trip. This ended up being one of my parents' favorite meals of the trip. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately it had drizzled so we stayed indoors but the outdoor seating was great, overlooking the water. We were here kind of at a dead time so there wasn't many customers. Had really great seafood options. Loved the cioppino. It was better than what we had up in Portland that cost waaay more. Service was also great. The waiter did also have his lunch while we were there but was really good about coming around and making sure we were satisfied with everything.

Easy to find restaurant next to the bay. Lots of close parking. Had lots of guests and only 1 server-he was very busy but welcomed us/was very helpful answering all our questions and giving us suggestions even though he was super busy. I ordered the fish and chips with a delicous macadamia nut porter. The drink came quickly he brought the can and a glass. The meal came in about 10-15 minutes. The fish was excellent and the chips looked hand cut and were crispy and tasty. I will definately stop here again when I'm in the area.

    Clam Chowder

The food here was so tasty! The butter that was served with the bread was better than any butter I've ever had. The fettuccine alfredo was super creamy and flavorful which I enjoyed! The staff here is super nice and there was a nice view of the water where we were sitting. I would highly recommend this place!

I had the half sandwich with a cup of miso mushroom soup. I chose the fish sandwich and the fish was really moist and tasty with lettuce, tomato, and onions. It was delicious and I was very happy with it except I wish there was more fish; the fish came in pieces and didn't cover the bread. The mushroom miso soup was good, but nothing special; it would've cost $5 to upgrade to clam chowder, but from what others said, I'm glad I didn't. I would say the food is probably three and a half stars, but the hard working servers doing triple duty kicked it up to four stars. My dining companions had the half crab sandwich, grilled halibut, and cioppino and they thought their food was good but not fantastic. All in all, I would eat here again, but I probably won't be in this area again.

The clam cutlet is pounded clam then breaded and pan fried.  It's heavy on the breading but its also heavy on the flavor... thumbs up.    The fish and chips are pretty good too.  Taste like beer battered .. flaky and moist white fish (cod) I think inside a golden brown shell. I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.

That was such a great experience that I stopped in again on a similar road trip in 2019. Fast forward to 2026. My husband and I were taking that same route and made sure that Arcata and Salt were on the itinerary. I was looking forward to the amazing risotto I'd had in the past! I was disappointed to discover that the location, the vibe, and the menu have all changed. That said, we still enjoyed our meal. I ordered the Market Salad. It was fresh and the dressing was light and delicious. It was large enough to share. Not realizing how large the salad would be, my husband also ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It was cooked perfectly with a light breading and it wasn't not greasy at all. For our main course, we split the Salsiccia pizza. It was the perfect size for us to share, especially given the appetizers we had. The amount of toppings were on the sparser side, but that just might be the nature of that pizza. Side note on the service: Our server was friendly enough but she was not very familiar with the menu. I asked if I could substitute the lettuce in the Market Salad for romaine and she didn't think that was possible. I explained I didn't want field greens and/or big leaves and she assured me those were not used in the salad. She said she thought it was iceberg and it was chopped very fine. With that, I ordered the salad. When it arrived, it was actually bibb lettuce that was left in relatively large pieces. At least it wasn't field greens! In their new location, they have a great patio. If I were a local, I think this could be a great place to hang out and enjoy their crafty cocktails. But since I'm not, I don't think I'll be back to Salt.

The place was pretty busy at 8pm and we sat outside since we had our pup with us. (That was my fault for not reading the description well enough; I'm just accustomed to eating oysters chilled) For entree's, I went with the Polenta Veghie lasagna and my husband ordered the Italian Mac n cheese. There were only a few guests when the gates opened but wait times filled up fast as there was only one staff tending the taps and gift shop. We were second in line, so it wasn't much of a wait for us. I ordered a flight of five with regular ABVs (alcohol by volume) which included the iconic Downtown Brown, Harvest Wheat, Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout, Great White and Lost Coast Pilsner. I and the other patrons were bummed that the Indica IPA wasn't on tap so I ended up purchasing a six pack. I wanted a totally different variety of beers when we had dinner at LCB's restaurant a few nights before. The restaurant offers a flight of 6 on tap BTW. I'm more of a wine person when given a choice, but the tasting the brews of LCB was one opportunity I wasn't going to miss while I was here. I like IPA and wheat among the beers but ended up liking all of them. Even the dark stouts. Unlike, the restaurant, they only serve chips (unpacked) and salsa (sealed) here. My wife (designated driver) and son opted to get a taster of their root beer and a couple scoops of ice cream from the gift shop. We ended up purchasing a bright tie-dyed tee LCB tee and a fridge magnet.
