Food was great! We ordered off the adult and children's menu. The children's chicken nuggets are dinosaur but most kids do not care. I had the grilled halibut it was delicious. My daughter Had the children's fish and chips and said she wished she had gotten what I did. Hubby had the halibut fish and chips and what I tried was delicious! I ordered clam chowder which I did not receive, they gave me some to go which was fine since I was full anyway. I tried it the next day and it was delicious. One day in Eureka.... husband wanted oysters and this was the recommendation we got from a local. parking easy. view spectacular! right on the water. only 1 person working when we arrived (2 by the time we left). there is indoor and outdoor seating. The temperature and view was much nicer outside. Service was very friendly. She was able to answer drink questions so well (found out she started as a bartender). We loved our food and drink. Stopped by here with my parents during a coastal trip. This ended up being one of my parents' favorite meals of the trip. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately it had drizzled so we stayed indoors but the outdoor seating was great, overlooking the water. We were here kind of at a dead time so there wasn't many customers. Had really great seafood options. Loved the cioppino. It was better than what we had up in Portland that cost waaay more. Service was also great. We've been here a few times before. We went for the 1st time for dinner. Our waiter, Chris, was awesome. Such a hard worker. We had the shrimp cocktail, which is a mix of warm jumbo shrimp along with a cold mini shrimp cocktail. It was delicious. My wife had the scallops & I had the ribeye with sautéed mushrooms & shrimp. Had lots of guests and only 1 server-he was very busy but welcomed us/was very helpful answering all our questions and giving us suggestions even though he was super busy. I ordered the fish and chips with a delicous macadamia nut porter. The drink came quickly he brought the can and a glass. The meal came in about 10-15 minutes. I had the half sandwich with a cup of miso mushroom soup. I chose the fish sandwich and the fish was really moist and tasty with lettuce, tomato, and onions. It was delicious and I was very happy with it except I wish there was more fish; the fish came in pieces and didn't cover the bread. The mushroom miso soup was good, but nothing special; it would've cost $5 to upgrade to clam chowder, but from what others said, I'm glad I didn't. I would say the food is probably three and a half stars, but the hard working servers doing triple duty kicked it up to four stars. We came here as my sister in law (SIL) recommended this place was decent and we were feeling seafood. We came for graduation and Mother's day weekend. It took a few minutes to get seated as there was one hostess and 2 servers. Which is somewhat shocking as theres 12 seating areas (some booths seating 4, others combined to seat 6) inside and around 12 seating areas outside as well. It looked like they were understaffed with the onflow of patrons coming in. I chatted with a lady while waiting to get seated and she also was waiting just to sign her check, so it looks like the restaurant was plenty busy. She told me they're not usually this busy but the food was good, which got me looking forward to our meal. We were ready to order after looking over the menu for 10 minutes. However took a while for a waitress to come over to us. We asked the hostess if she could let the waitress know we were ready to order, but it seems the one she asked said that we weren't her table to go to. When we noticed several groups getting their orders after us, we ended up finally flagging someone else after another 20 minutes. She mentioned she wasn't our waitress in but she could take out order. When ordering with her, we asked a question to see how filling the spicy seafood bowl (listed off their specials) would be as our group liked to share and try things. She told us it would be enough to feed one person, which we found hard to believe as it involved 1 lb of dungeness crab legs, 1 lb of pacific blue mussels, 1/2 lb of jumbo shrimp, gold potatoes, and corn on the cob bathed in butter, garlic, anise, ginger, and cajun spices. The food was alright. Their mac and cheese was as good as my SIL claimed. The spicy seafood bowl was not bad, and matched the mild taste. We were too deterred to order anything else. I tried to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that they were just busy, and perhaps it was a mix up with who should be serving us. But maybe it might have been because we were the only non-Caucasians in the restaurant. We never got clarification on who our waitress was supposed to be, but at least got our food. We never got asked how the food was. Amusingly enough, I noticed all the other tables got asked how the food was, and our table seemed to be avoided like the plague. We were seated in the corner, so would be hard to miss us. There was a parking lot for parking, but there was also a group of homeless outside nearby the front. For the bathroom, you would need to get a code from the waitresses in order to use it. If I was ever in this town again, I would opt not to go here as I thought the service was lacking and did not feel like a fine dining experience to me. read more
