We've been back a few more times since my last review so I figured I'd update since I have some pictures this time. I'm still all about the chile relleno burrito so the last time we went I ordered one with carne asada and it was literally the burrito of my dreams. This time when we went inside I noticed a hand written sign above the cash register that said "The Raliberto" which was basically my chile relleno burrito plus carne asada, so I ordered it. I cut it in half, took a picture this time and noticed it wasn't the same, it had cheddar cheese instead of that delicious white cheese the relleno comes with, and I don't think the poblano was battered and fried, it was just a plain pepper that was stuffed with cheese- it was still very tasty just not the burrito of my dreams. I'm thinking since it was a special, they may have run out of the regular rellenos or perhaps they were cutting costs but next time I'll just stick with the regular chile relleno burrito. We also picked up an order of their other special, carne asada rolled tacos, which definitely don't need the added carne asada because guacamole is all them tasty suckers need but we snarfed it all down. I don't know when we'll be driving through again but this is a really solid spot that I'll always think of fondly. read more

Just when I thought that Humboldt County Mexican food could not get any worse. I went to this place. It seems like they just warmed up. The flower tortilla didn't cook it. I just throw in some beans and rice and lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. I mean, who puts lettuce in a quesadilla? To top it off, there was no silverware or napkins in my to go order. This taco shop is hands down the best in Eureka. The people here are so sweet and welcoming, it genuinely makes the experience even better. The tacos are absolutely amazing--full of flavor, fresh, and done right. This is the only place I go to for tacos here because it's the only spot that truly serves authentic Mexican food. The food is just as good here as the Arcata store, and much better in cleanliness. I decided to stop in to pick up dinner. The place was bright and clean, including the restrooms. It was a small space. Everyone was friendly. The lady here spoke better English than the lady at at he Arcata store. I decided to do an order of the carne asada fries to go, with tots instead of fries. At some places, these would be called. "Totchos." Unfortunately, I tore into the food before I could get a picture. The tots were cooked perfectly. They were not greasy. The carne asada was tender and delicious, and it also came with cheese, sour creme and guacamole. All together, it was rich, but very very good. Even with it being a small order, I barely finished half. The rest made a fantastic breakfast! The price, including a soda, tax, and tip, was reasonable. We came here for dinner on Independence Day, since this was one of the few Mexican restaurants in downtown Eureka that was still open. The restaurant wasn't too big and had ~7 tables, but seemed like most people were getting take out to eat elsewhere. I got the steak & shrimp quesadilla. The tortilla was nice and crispy, and the steak and shrimp both tasted very flavorful and food. Meanwhile, my sister got the chicken enchilada. It was soft rather than crispy, and came with sides of rice and beans and tasted pretty decent as well. Tiny little shop with street parking. They have a lot of reviews so we stopped by. We ordered the Al pastor and Baja fish tacos and the chicken enchiladas. The food was pretty good! We really liked the Al pastor taco. The lady helping out at the till was nice. If you don't care much about atmosphere, but want good food, definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

Wish I could get a refund! Spent over $55 on low quality food. Enchiladas were mid, mild flavor. The BEANS were FLAVORLESS, like they forgot to add seasonings to it! (The canned beans at the grocery store have more flavor than these!!) You could barely taste the mexican red rice, barely had a hint of salt to it. The Super Nachos looked very sad! Bland taste, hardly any seasonings. The Horchata drink was extremely watered down! And I had NO ICE!! Very disappointed in the food quality, was expecting decent quality and couldn't even get that. Railberto's is 100% a gem of a place. If you like Southern California style rolled tacos with fresh guac and micro shredded cheese / carne asada fries then this is the place for you! I was staying in Arcata for a night and didn't want to lose my parking spot so I opted to order Raliberto's via Doordash. Literally took 12 minutes to arrive after I ordered. We stopped here on our way into Arcata and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and the amount of meat in our burritos. Service was quick and the people were friendly in the shop. When there are locals frequenting a mexican taco shop you can get a pretty good feel for how the foods gonna be... And there were definitely locals there! While driving thru Eureka decided to look up a place to stop for some Mexican food on Yelp and the Yelping community didn't let me down. This place had some great food I got me a breakfast burrito and a carne asada burrito to go. The breakfast burrito was tasty but the carne asada burrito was off the hook. The meat was delicious not like some places that have nasty meat with tons of gristle. If your in the area you should stop by and try this spot out. read more

It was okay. Not the best because the super nachos on the menu had a picture of the nachos and it had salsa and all of these wonderful things. When I got the nachos the first thing I noticed was that the chips were actually fries. It was very interesting. I ordered carne asada and the meat when I got it had no seasoning and was very bland. This is a good place for a quick cheap lunch with coworkers. Quick counter service and friendly staff. The outside of the restaurant doesn't look very inviting, but the interior is clean and spacious. There's a decent sized menu offering a good variety - burritos, tacos, combination plates, tortas, churros etc. The food prices are surprisingly cheap and is comparable SoCal taco shop prices. I had the asada burrito today and taste wise, it could be better. The meat tastes very salty to me, no flavors stood out other than salty-ness. I ordered a side of chips and pico as well. Pico is pico, but this pico was.... No way to describe it other than "blah". I'll try this place again because of the location and quick service. read more

We stopped here after a long day of hiking as we were both craving Mexican food.. the entire experience from the service to the taste of the food was disappointing. Communication wasn't an issue but the lady taking our order was very unwelcoming. I asked her a question about one of the plates which only seemed to irritate her further. The inside of the restaurant was dirty so we chose to take out our food and eat in the car rather then eat there. I got a California burrito and my boyfriend got a carne Asada plate. For this meal they gave us only 3 salsas. And I'm talking very small, less then an ounce salsas. The burrito did have a lot of meat but it was chewy and did not taste seasoned, I threw out half of it. The carne Asada plate only came with a small tortilla. Not what you would expect for the price you pay. Overall I would never consider eating here again and I think that there are much better and safer places you can choose while visiting the redwoods. Arcata had plenty of wonderful options and is just a 10 min drive away. read more

My husband went through the drive through and said it seemed like the person on the other end couldn't understand him at all. We got some food. It was edible. We ate it. We were sad. I came into town later on at night and went on Yelp to try and find a ace to eat other than fast food franchises. I found this place on Yelp and it was a good find, good prices and good food , plentiful, fresh , and very tasty. The service was fast and friendly , I felt safe in there as I rolled in here during the Covid-19 pandemic. I will definitely return and eat some more of this delicious food when we're back in town . The cashier was very nice, but wow was I overcharged. Overcharged and not given my full order. I ordered a burrito, taco, and an order of carrots and jalapeños. Each visit I make to either the 4th St or Broadway locations, I am always pleased with the staff, the counter staff specifically. I frequent the 4th St. locale the vast majority of time, and I feel as if the girl behind the counter is like a friend. She always remembers my name and the special way I take my orders. Both locations have seating indoors, and the ambiance is casual and friendly. The food is pretty good for being so far north of the border. Onion. If I could describe my experience in one word onion. Pico de onion without any apparent lime. Soggy onion carne asada quesadilla that had no onions and no seasoning or crisp. I promise I really don't like writing up a poor review but it was all bad. The street tacos were basically onion tacos and the orchata is premixed. I'm not sure what happened at the register, my fault as well, but the pricing didn't reflect the posted menu. We also bought a burrito and it was basically 50 bucks. The rice and beans super bland. Very good Mexican plates. I had the Al Pastor, while my husband enjoyed a Carnitas plate. We bought chips and salsa to go along with our meal. My meat was dry, while my husband thoroughly enjoyed his Carnitas. We are just passing through Eureka, so not sure if we would make a special trip just to eat a meal here, but if our lives take us back...we'll definitely stop to enjoy a taco! read more
