Bayfront Restaurant was just okay for me. The food itself wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out. Service felt a bit stretched thin, which I'm guessing was because they were understaffed that day. The table layout was kind of awkward too. It didn't feel like the most comfortable setup. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back.

We went here as a special occasion to celebrate my niece graduating from college and reserved a table where they cook the food in front of you. There was a group of 6 of us. We ate from the Teppanyaki menu and loved it. The service was great and it was entertaining and fun. The food was also great. The restaurant is right on the water so it has amazing views! A great restaurant and great experience that left us all with smiles on our faces. Highly recommend!

We arrived in Eureka after a long drive with growling stomachs! We searched for the best looking restaurant with a great view and settled on the Bayfront restaurant. While the view outside was enjoyable, the inside of the restaurant looked a little dated. So did the waitress uniforms. After we perused the menu, we settled on an edamame app, some sushi rolls, a romaine salad with chicken, and a burger and fries for my daughter. The menu was quite extensive and had a lot of interesting and delicious looking options, especially since they combined sushi/seafood and Italian dishes. It took a while to get the appetizer and I was delivered the wrong salad. During that time, one of the other tables came in and left, I'm assuming because no one came to serve them. The sushi was decent and salad all right, but nothing to write home about. I don't know how they do their fries, but they are some of the best and most interesting I've had. Amazing texture, but way over salted! When we received the bill, one of the items was priced higher than it should have been and some of the items we ordered weren't even on there. Our waitress was friendly, but her mind and attention seemed elsewhere

We came for a quick bite to eat at the end of a fun filled day so neither of us wanted much. I had a phenomenal Black Jack roll, which was Spicy Tuna, Shrimp Tempura & Cucumber Inside. Topped with Seared Ahi, Ponzu Sauce & Tobiko. It was fresh, tasty, and came super fast. I also had a glass of Pinot noir from a local California vineyard. Both were exceptional.

Yummy sushi, friendly helpful service, nice views of the marina full of fishing boats.

We went for dinner after a long day of hiking. We were seated after a few minutes. We had a table next to the window with an amazing view. Our server was great. She took our drink and apps order very quickly. There was a door open near by and she offered to close it because she noticed we were cold. We didn't even have to ask. I was so grateful. Such great service. Our apps and sushi were both great. The only reason why I knocked one star is because the food took a really long time to come out. Other than the long wait for food, our overall experience was great.

The place was pretty busy at 8pm and we sat outside since we had our pup with us. I ordered 3 oysters as an app. I had just read that Humboldt Bay provided a large percentage of the oysters consumed in CA and NV so figured I should order some since we're so close to the source! I was surprised when I slurped it down and it was warm but they were delicious and the sauce on top was very flavorful. (That was my fault for not reading the description well enough; I'm just accustomed to eating oysters chilled) For entree's, I went with the Polenta Veghie lasagna and my husband ordered the Italian Mac n cheese. Both dishes were very good and very filling. I loved the crust of the polenta and the eggplant and cheese filling was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I was impressed with the coziness and warmth of the interior. Great spot for dinner, I'm glad I chose this restaurant!

We were served right away and the hostess was very nice and located at two top for us. The wait person was lovely and immediately accommodating. The menu was interesting and inviting. I had to laugh out loud as there is an item on the menu referencing Pee-wee's Playhouse from my childhood. I even asked if it was a Gen X restaurant and sure enough the chef is of my generation. I'm including a picture so IYKYK! The waitress had shared all of the specials, and I was intrigued by the flat iron steak option. It was a flat iron steak with marsala mushroom sauce, and mushroom risotto and asparagus. It was delightful! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender with a lot of beef flavor, offset by a rich marsala mushroom sauce. It was perfectly complimented by one of the top mushroom risotto I have had in my life. It was delectable. And the grilled asparagus side paired nicely with the beef and marsala sauce. It even had a little bit of lemon on the asparagus, which is my preference for it! Overall, this is probably in the top five of all of the restaurant meals I've had in my life. My husband had the mixed beef burger with fries. He said he really enjoyed the burger, and I did steal a tiny taste, and it was perfectly cooked and had a slight gameness that gave it some depth. My husband said that the bun was very nice as well. The fries were perfectly cooked. The burger was perfectly cooked and it wasn't over juicing nor dry. Overall, a really great burger! Funniest thing we noticed was that all of the chairs that were sitting on a cement floor had been given rubber caps for each of the legs so that when you moved the chair, it didn't make a horrible sound. Literally extra 10 points for that alone! I wish this location well and look forward to stopping in the next time we are in the area.

I had oven roasted salmon with what was supposed to be a teriyaki glaze on top but it was more like a syrup. The mushroom risotto was good. The pizzas that we ordered were good. I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.
