So I have went to this location for many years. Tonight they had 2 young people working, there was no one in the restaurant, and it was like pulling teeth to get 3 zeppelins. They don't chop the mix anymore, so you have huge chunks of lettuce jammed into your bread. My 3 zeppelin were $38 dollars. I've been here a few times. I love the concept of salad in bread. Last time I came here I ended up getting the Tejano Caesar with bacon. The jalapeno cesar dressing was really good. Food is good, but the service at this location is terrible. I had received my zeppelin and was waiting to pay for about 10 mins while they helped complete orders behind me. Then when they were ready the guy skipped right over me to take another guys payment. I told him I had been waiting to pay and the guy said to just keep waiting and they would get to me eventually. They have a bunch of options for salads which you can eat standalone, or have your salad stuffed into their bread to make a sub sandwich type deal. What I Love - Their flavors are delicious, and the ingredients are fresh. The last time I was there, you could tell the employees and management took their food very seriously and made sure to have the best quality products available. - The actual bread. It does have a tendency to run a little crunchy at times, and it's hard to say whether or not you'll be covered in crumbs once you're done as I normally am. But I'm a fan of it. - CYO options. I'm always a fan of CYO versus choosing a menu item and asking for substitutions. Love this. - They have a long list of house made dressings. Love these as well! I'm a sucker for the Lime Juice and Tejano Caesar dressings. I Need to Try - I see now where there is an option to order online. I haven't tried this yet to see what it's like in practice, but I assume it's fairly straightforward. Will update next time I try this. Room for Improvement - If you come here during lunch at any point Monday through Friday, you're likely going to be standing in line for a while. They do their best to push everyone through quickly while not compromising service, however it's not unexpected to see the line out the door. The food was good, but it wasn't anything stand out. It was a little pricey for salads, I picked one of there specialties and it was good but once they fill it up with a few things there's not room for very much else. Edit: Upon hearing about my bad experience, Bread Zeppelin was quick to respond, expressing their concern for me. I really appreciated the fact that they listen to their customers. Terrible place! The Manager was so rude and would not let me explain my situation with why I had ordered and that no one let me know some crumbles of bacon is charged as a protein but eggs are not. I would not have order what did did if it were a little more clear. He was so rude, jumping in while I was talking! Also, the kids menu is ridiculous, don't even bother with the kids bowl, just get you one and give the child a portion of yours. I suggest going anywhere else but if you have to go, here is the warning. I actually walked out because of how rude they were and went to La Madeleine in which they accommodated my needs while even giving me additional items for my salad that I didn't even have to pay for including my bacon and cheese, which are both considered proteins. I don't usually eat salads but when I do, I eat Bread Zeppelin salads. These salads truly are elevated and take me to a higher level of bliss. Bread Zeppelin is a must for me when I'm visiting Dallas and I can promise you that no matter how much you love or hate salads, you will become a fan. If you order the Zeppelin, your salad is cut down and filled into a hollowed out bread. My go to item is the Lone Star Zeppelin minus the onion rings plus artichokes with creamy wasabi, chipotle ranch, crushed red pepper and black pepper. The combination of the two sauces, the juicy steak, the crispy bread, the quick tang from the artichokes and the subtle heat from the peppers is out of this world tasty. Just writing about it is making me salivate. Whatever you get, you seriously cannot be disappointed. Every meal here is not only filling, but also has the magical ability of making you crave it even more. Even if you're full to the point that your stomach is about to burst, you're going to want to get back in line and order another. Definitely come check this place out! Seriously Dallas people, you are so lucky! I can't explain how much I love your city because of this place. This is a pretty unique place that I would highly recommend for those that are trying to eat healthier. My Zeppelin was made perfectly and tasted surprisingly light. The first time I went to this place was because I was intrigued by its name. And boy was I blown away! This quickly became my lunch time frequent stop. My favourites are Washington state and Plymouth Rock. I also recommend the NOLA Shrimp. I prefer zeppelins (stuffed in a 6 inch bagette) to the salads but both are great. I can't believe I've never left a review compared to all the time that I have been there! This is probably one of my favorite restaurants to go to in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It is quite surprising that there are not a lot of salad places around. Back to the basics - salad! All of their ingredients are always fresh at this location, I have never been disappointed! I'm not sure how to exactly describe a salad to you because "to each his own" with toppings and dressings but I can tell you that they have about eight varieties of just your base greens. So you can choose between different types of lettuces, kale, spinach, arugula, and a few others. Also they have a HUGE list of dressings. I'm not sure - never counted, but I'm guessing it is along the lines of maybe 15 to 20. When you first order you have the choice of a bowl or bread Zeppelin LOL the bread Zeppelin is basically everything that will be in the bowl but they stuff it down in a baguette! So you're eating a salad sandwich. (They do have meat so it is not all that bad meat eaters LOL!) But once you choose whether you want a bowl or sandwich they grab a metal bowl and fill it with whatever you want. Once you have your fillings and dressing in the bowl you move to the next station and have it chopped all up on a big board which makes the salad experience so much easier. You have everything in one bite! They also offer fresh baguettes on the side if you choose for $1.25 extra. They offer baked goods such as cookies and bread pudding and a kids meal with chicken strips I believe. Love love love this place! read more

I've also tried the Washington state zeppelin with chicken and subbed feta for blue cheese. This was pretty good as well. The bread they use here is pretty addictive to me. I'm glad they scoop out the inside and fill it with salad, as I'm not a big fan of sandwiches with too much bread. I haven't really found a great sandwich place in the Las Colinas area, so this my go-to now when I crave one. I've never came during the lunch hour during the weekdays before, but it's super busy! Randomly found this place after getting off work. I thought this was a sub place but it's not... its a baguette, with the insides removed, and stuffed with a freshly prepared salad! I believe you can do a bowl and salad option? You can build your own or select one of their signature, I tried the metropolitan cobb which consist of grilled chicken, avocado, crumbled egg, bacon, tomato, blue cheese crumbles, and romaine/iceberg lettuce. The recommended sauce is metropolitan cobb dressing... they will ask if you want to do another sauce but I stuck with the recommended. Delicious. Assembly line fast casual place. Fresh bread that they toast and then pull out all the inside and stuff with ingredients of your choice. They also have their own creations and everything can also be made in to a salad. I had the buffalo chicken and the Atlantis. The buffalo chicken was crispy and not too spicy. The Atlantis tasted like a Greek salad in a sun. Perfect. They allow you to choose how much dressing you put on your salad/zeppelin. They also have daily soup selections and chips and drinks. I probably shouldn't have done that though.. It didn't end up tasting that great. I'm just going to blame myself and say that it was probably because I didn't properly choose the right ingredients to have a delicious lunch haha. However, I did hear from multiple sources that the Metropolitan Cobb and the Southwest were must tries. So next time I go, I'll definitely try those out. One thing that did bother me was that they use the same utensils without cleaning it to cut all the ingredients up before stuffing the bread. I ended up having carrot slices in my sandwich (never asked to add the carrots). So, if you're ever allergic to any of the ingredients make sure you ask the server to clean the cutting utensils! Well, I am happy to report that my visits in the past month-ish have been good again. I'm still upset that the buffalo chicken zeppelin is gone, but I understand that it's seasonal. You can bring it back any time though ;) It seems that either the girls I was having issues with are no longer employed here or I have just been lucky enough to not see them on my visits. The owner had privately messaged me on Yelp and we briefly discussed my issues, and he is either overwhelmed and just not concerned. Oh well, I guess I'll just expect that from now on. I have learned that if its 8pm or later don't even bother because the teenagers are so ready to leave you will have a bad experience even though they don't close until 9pm. I actually went in at 7pm a couple months ago to find that they were out of both soups already which is absurd to me. Oh well, guess I'll just be coming less. This weekend I saw 4 fresh faces and the lady previously mentioned who was being rude to the employees was very helpful with these new team members. She let us know they were in training and to be patient with them while giving them constructive feedback so that was nice. The restaurant is always clean, absolutely PACKED at lunch time during the work week (which confirms my previous feelings about how awesome it is), and the food is consistently delicious. I've also learned to warn certain people to go slow with the dressing before they get started so I haven't had my salads drenched before I could open my mouth anymore. Honestly, when I first heard about this place, I was confused and thought the concept was silly. But, my friends all insisted that it's worth the hype, so I decided to check it out for lunch. I ordered the Southwest zeppelin with chicken and Chipotle Ranch dressing, and I cannot express how delicious it is. Any doubt that I had about Bread Zeppelin went completely out the window after I bit into it. I was initially worried that the bread would be too chewy and dense, but they core out the middle pretty well and toast it till it's crispy (but not to the point where it's burnt and rock hard). I also really appreciate that they chop the salads pretty finely, especially since I got mine as a Zeppelin. To be honest, it was pretty much a sandwich with less bread and more greens, but so much better than you'd expect. I will 100% be back here in the future! read more
