While waiting to order I notice the digital display screen scrolling through specials. The chicken flatbread caught my eye. Time to order and that's I said I wanted. "Oh that's seasonal we no longer offer it". It is on a digital display board...the whole point is you can change it easy. We were assured they could not change it locally. I tend to always visit this location, when I'm in the mood for McAlister's. I always get the Pick 2, and will mix it up every time. The last order, I chose the spuds max and the Rachel. The Rachel: LET ME TELL YOU THIS, this was a darn good sandwich. It wasn't lacking meat, sauce, or sauerkraut. Usually, I find some deli's tend to miss one of those. I will definitely, get this again. Spud Max: It has been ages since I've had a baked spud, but this one hit the spot. There was plenty of cheese and meat, they didn't skimp on any of those things. On a side note: I'd be careful when ordering the King Club. Someone mentioned, they felt like it was two sandwiches placed on top of each other. I must agree, I felt the same. It's my first time trying this location. Unfortunately, my debit card was declining although I just deposited money on it. Caroline was nice enough to let me order my food, eat it, and pay afterwards once I spoke to my bank. That was such a kind gesture and I wasn't expecting that type of generosity. This was my first visit to this location, hopefully I'll be able to give it 5 stars in the future. Almost everything from this location was perfect! I pulled up after placing my order online, I didn't even have to call and they brought my order out, so that was perfect! Everything in the order was correct! We weren't missing any items and everything was made correctly. That's even better! I ordered a couple of new lemonades. And they were really good! My 2 issues come from the bread on both of my sandwiches. It was really stale and I've never had this issue before. Overall, it was fine, but stale bread is never good. The second issue was with my apple sauce. Online the portion was bigger, but this is just apple sauce you can buy at the store. Kinda disappointing. Overall, the experience was a good one. I made an order online for pick up at lunch. I ordered the choose two; Savannah Salad and the Pepper Jack Turkey sandwich. My food was ready on time and there was not a long wait to pick up my food. The Savannah Salad is my absolute favorite salad at McAllister's. The vinaigrette dressing is also amazing on this salad. You can't go wrong with this choice. The Pepper Jack Turkey is also another one of my favorite sandwiches. I literally ate it in less than 5 minutes. It only has mustard which is great because I don't really care for mayo. I enjoyed a large piece of carrot cake for my dessert. I usually get the million dollar brownie which is also a great dessert option. I love carrot cake and this one was moist and delish. Giving this deli an opportunity for a second review, I found the Rueben sandwich made with pastrami at my request flavorful and filling. It would have been nice had included in my takeout order a pickle slice which usually complements deli sandwiches. The tall lemonade I ordered satisfied my thirst on this hot day. My past experience was with the BLT sandwich, a favorite of mine for many months. But the last sandwich was hard to chew. In fairness, it was the first time I had the problem, but it was disappointing knowing how tasty the sandwiches had been at McAlister's. I LOVE McAlister's Deli. My girlfriend and I were craving a good light meal & sweet tea but were shocked to find out my local/frequented McAlister's in Arlington, TX is currently under renovations for the week. No need to panic, pull up the map and go-on to the another location in Irving, it should be the same experience, right? Unfortunately, it was not. Although we did anticipate the usual Sunday after church crowd, this location was not prepared at all to handle the capacity. It was very unorganized. The BAD: 1. We walked in to a large line, although expected, it took us about 20-25 minutes from the doorway to the cashier. I tried to analyze what was taking forever, as I have never waited this long in a McAlister line before (even during peak hours). I found out later it seemed like the cashiers were also food runners and bus-boys at the same time. Also, cashiers were not audible to call for the next person in-line. 2. While waiting in-line, I noticed there were plenty of tables with dirty plates and cups. It looks like they have been sitting there for a while. Finally after 20 minutes or so, I saw one-sole employee cleaning 1 table. I later find out this same employee was the person bringing out our food! I hope they washed their hands. This could explain why ALOT of tables were not bussed. 3. There was not a constant food-runner/tea re-filler circulating at all-times. If a customer wants a re-fill on tea, they would have to interrupt the cashier taking care of new customer orders---thus holding up the line. 4. My go-to Sweet Chipotle Chicken w/mashed potatoes with gravy was not on point. The sandwich was lukewarm; the bread was more soggy than toasty. I barely got any mashed potatoes, might as well have called it gravy w/mashed potatoes. Why did I not complain? Easy, I did not want to wait in that line again. The OK: 5. My girlfriend did enjoy her Chef Salad. We did notice the plate might have been cleaned more thoroughly as there was a dry-cheese morsel one corner. A little bit of elbow grease could have taken that right off. The GOOD: 6. The Sweet Tea - tasted like everywhere else. Overall, I believe the employees did what they can do. It looks like Management needs to work to get more organized, more staffing for peak hours, and more training for employees at the register. read more

There wasn't a lot of chili on it so they gave me another bowl on the side to help with that. Took the rest to work and I still couldn't finish it. This is truly a shareable item and very tasty. This is on my last trip here after what I thought was after the main lunch rush at 1:15 PM on a Monday. As I pulled in the lot, I had to circle the parking lot as all of the spaces were FULL. I thought, wow, lots of local workers are late back to work. Eventually, I got lucky and slipped into a space by the front door as the a person left. This was going to be a LUCKY trip here. I walked in the door and realized I left my luck at the door as BOTH the call Ahead to Pick Up line was 10 deep and the regular take out/dine in line was at least 10. So looking at the bright side, I was able to catch up on work emails over the cell, work on my balance on one foot exercises and nearly memorize the menu. I ordered the French Dip and an iced tea for take out. My tea was handed to me and now my turn to wait again. I should mention I am not a patient wait in line kind of guy, so I guess they are trying to help me with learning how to stand in line. The sandwich was great when I got it back to the office. On 11/14/2022 I ordered the New Yorker and a Chef Salad. Both were customized. Went to the store and it was ready for pickup. Got back to my desk and was very disappointed that the sandwich was just meat and bread. Definitely didn't ask for a dry sandwich. Chef salad was good. I figured lunch rush, mistakes are made. On 11/16/2022 I ordered the SpudMax and the King Club. I arrived at the restaurant at 11:45 as my order stated it would be ready at 11:43. Order not ready. I had to wait 25 minutes for my order. No apology or anything. Get my order and the potato is cold. The King Club was literally 2 sandwiches stacked on top of each other. It looked like it was definitely thrown together and very sloppy looking. Not sure if I want to give this spot another chance to ruin my lunch. read more

Normal restaurant line dissects the pick up line. No dedicated area signposted for pick up except the empty pigeonholes. What's the advantage of online ordering if the restaurant fulfills normal orders quicker and without hassles. We also opted for an order of the Nacho Basket, but unbelievably there were a bunch of tortilla chip crumbs under a smattering of full size chips. Unacceptable. I ordered a cup of veggie soup and a side of mac n cheese. They only filled the container halfway. This is the 2nd time they have done this. I thought it was a mistake the first time but they did it again today. Next time I will bring it to their attention. Why not fill the container to the rim and especially since the bowls are wrapped in saran. It's disappointing. I actually really like the mac n cheese and the veggie chilli but the being skimpy on the portions is unacceptable. So McAlister's responded via email and explained the portion sizes for the mac n cheese and also noted the portions for the chilil. The response was quick and understanding. Horrible service. I called and placed my order when I was on the way about 10 minutes out. When I arrived there were two people in line in front of me who placed their orders on the spot and still got their food before I got mine. And then when I get home they jammed my king club in this small container. When I tried to pull it apart it fell apart in my hands. Had to eat it with a fork. Really great customer service. Very friendly. It had been a while since I'd been in, and asked for a few suggestions. All of which sounded yummy, but I went with the sweet chipotle chicken - which was fabulous! Though I added spinach for a little green. The cashier (manager?) was kind enough to mix their vegetarian and beef chili so I could have my chili with beans wasn't super impressed with the chili, but that's ok! I'm a huge believer in earning your rank and not giving out stars for cuteness. Lol, strict much? I live for McAllister's, I'm not quite a regular but its sure is my go to place for iced tea & yummy deli sandwiches, soup & next trip nachos. This location is great, I always find something on the menu to try for the next go'round and can't complain at all about the service. It's always clean, the food is fresh & though I had a few mess ups on my last trip I'm not mad at all (which is rare for me). Also I made sure to snag a catering menu for some upcoming events which I'm definitely going to be looking for. All in all the price point is great, portion sizes are perfect, service is pretty quick (though I swear whenever I go 5 people come in right after me lol). This place is a complete dumpster fire. The line is completely disorganized, so people frequently jump to the front. I shouldn't have to regulate the flow of service at a restaurant. They frequently don't have online orders ready on time. And the cashiers are so rude and will completely ignore you. They can't even tell who's waiting to order. And the sandwiches aren't even that good. I was so annoyed this afternoon that I turned down a free lunch so I could go pay somewhere else that doesn't treat its customers like cattle.
