I hate leaving negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it needed to be shared. I've been to this location before, and during this visit I jokingly mentioned that the last time my sandwich was a little light on toppings and asked if I could get a little extra. Instead of responding politely, an employee named Rose' became argumentative and told me I needed to "take it up with corporate." He even commented that the food "must be good because you came back." There was absolutely no reason to argue with a customer over a simple request. If he wasn't authorized to provide extra toppings, a polite explanation or asking a manager to step in would have been the appropriate response. Instead, he came across as arrogant, dismissive, and unprofessional. What makes this even more frustrating is that the rest of the staff at the MacArthur Las Colinas location was friendly, courteous, and genuinely willing to accommodate customers. They provided excellent customer service and deserve recognition for it. Hopefully, Rose' can learn from his coworkers, because his behavior did not reflect the standard the rest of the team set. Customer service is just as important as the food, and no customer should be made to feel like they're being scolded for making a simple request. read more

Very disappointed in this location, I ordered catering for group of 10. I never received my order. I was watching my order status online via the track my order. The order status never said canceled in fact it said my order was in progress. At the time I expected my delivery I called the store and the person stated my order was canceled because my card had declined. I never received a call, however I got the automatic email (which I was not monitoring my personal email). The person that answered stated they called and left a message on my phone. THEY DID NOT. Had they called I could have given my card details over the phone. Literally have 10 people waiting for lunch and they did not offer to make it in fact they told me how very busy they were. Been coming to this location for over a decade and love the consistent flavors of their sandwiches and soups. Wreck is my personal favorite followed by the Mediterranean Melt. Their cookies are amazing too. You can buy bottles of their hot peppers, which adds a kick to their sandwiches. Service has always been fast and efficient. Pricing is moderate. They get busy during lunch hours but the lines move pretty quick. Will always be one of my all time favorite sandwich shops. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with my first encounter with Potbelly. The ordering steps are a little confusing, but once I let the employee know it was my first time in, she was friendly and helpful. I ordered the sandwich and soup Pick-your-pair. I opted for the veggie melt sandwich and the broccoli cheese soup. Online, this soup is indicated as vegetarian. Sadly, and thankfully, the employee quickly let me know that it contains chicken stock. Not sure why it is described differently online and I had my heart set on it. I went with the Garden Vegetable soup, instead. Walking down the line, another employee was making the sandwich and asked if I wanted other toppings on it. Loved this, because I basically got a salad on bread! Be sure to add their spicy peppers (think Giardiniera, delicious!) Service was quick and we were sitting down quickly with our food. Three of us had ordered soup, and they were all piping hot- I'm talking steamy throughout the meal. The soup tasted like homemade, full of nice veggies in a savory tomato broth. The sandwich was another win. Even though it had a lot of cool veggies, the bread was warm and the cheese was melty. Will I return? Most definitely! I became a fan of PotBelly about 15 years ago in Chicago.  In fact, a friend gave me a gift certificate about 8 years ago thinking that they had a storefront in San Francisco. They don't, so I have been hanging on to the gift certificate.  Now that I am in Irving, there is one right down the road. I know a lot of these fast casual restaurants get bad reviews. And while this was not fine dining, my Italian sandwich was very tasty! - The service was fine, I mean... it is hard to get employees at minimum wage to do a good job, let alone have a great welcoming spirit. I know this a sandwich shop but the real MVP is the shake. Hand dipped ice cream is used. The blend was perfect for my chocolate shake. Yeh shakes are presented with a shortbread cookie around the straw. About the sandwich, my most recent "wreck" order was not that great. Really irritated with a catering/6 person box delivery. Got a confirmation saying delivery would happen by 12:13pm. Food just arrived at 12:42pm. Door Dash driver was assigned because the location had too many orders and told me he was given until 12:45pm to deliver. Either way - I would NOT have ordered from here OR provided a $15 tip if I knew my order would arrive 30 minutes late. Also - it was missing my extra bags of chips. I am in the store along with seven other customers waiting for their orders placed via the app. There are zero customers in line and zero urgency by the staff. Waiting 20 minutes so far. I come here a few times a week and the last month or so the service has fallen off a cliff. Get your act together. What's the point of ordering through the app? Update: now 40 minutes and one customer has their food, fifteen others standing around looking at their phones and not happy. Several customers have walked in, looked at us and walked out. This place is always packed and the line moves fairly fast. I grabbed my water and a bag of Zapp's chips while waiting. Placed my order for a Wreak on wheat. The person on the other side of the oven places the condiments on when the food pops out. Pretty amazing since they do all this and prepare take out with only 3 employees. This is one well oiled machine. These guys got it going on! The fella that made my sandwich ran over to get it out of the oven on the other side. He's also the one that puts the condiments on and bags the food. He was like a ninja! Super fluid that's for sure. The only thing I saw as problematic with the line is when a salad is ordered. It throws a curve ball in the system with only 3 employees. Other then that this place rocks! Oh and they have strategically placed speakers from which they play great music. Depending on where your sitting it actually sounded like a musician was playing live! I actually turned around to make sure it really was speakers. Really cool. The food is usually toasted but they will customize a sandwich to your liking. Example my name is Rodknee Wilsun and the lady behind the counter said I was going to make fun of your name. This place is always super busy during the lunch rush, but the line moves very fast. Be aware that parking is always a hassle, and you'll be near-missing cars that turn in any random corner. It contains just about everything I love in a salad - chicken, egg, bacon, cheese, red onions, and cucumbers. I always go for extra egg and tomato. I normally don't like bleu cheese at all, but I think Potbelly helped me associate this bitter cheese to the rest of the lovely-tasting salad, which in turn, made me love bleu cheese. Goodness, don't you love psychology? The employees here are very nice and energetic. The one downside about this place is how the food is executed. I ordered my salad, and someone a few customers back ordered the same thing, except his was standard and mine was with the extra egg and tomato (this cost extra). I stood by the registers for a long while and a man called out "Farmhouse Salad!" and the man behind me took it. After a few more minutes they called out another Farmhouse Salad, which was handed to me -- This was the standard without my modification because it didn't have extra egg or tomato. Oh well. Not a big deal, but I think if they had a naming system, it be better. A guy just got a salad with extra inclusions without having to pay for it. And this doesn't pertain to Potbelly itself, but they do sell Zapp's BBQ Ranch chips. I always order it with my salad. Once I finished my order on the mobile app I realized the pick up time was set for an hour later than I wanted and I knew I wouldn't be able to get it at that time. I debated on whether it was worthwhile to review a restaurant that is arguably a chain at this point, but when living close to Potbelly's was a high priority factor in our recent move, I think that answers my question. I literally LOVE everything about this place, from the live music during lunch to the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We used to go so often that everyone knew us by name. The management even rigged the monthly sandwich drawing so that we would win (hopefully they don't get in trouble for me posting that). Where to begin ... I think my favorite things about this place are the perfectly toasted bread, the hot peppers and the fantastic flavor of the meats. Even the spicy mustard is worth mentioning. If you're a first timer definitely go with either the Italian or the Wreck, but feel free to branch out after your first visit since everything on the menu is great. I like to shake things up every now and then with a smoked ham and my wife is a big fan of the roast beef with mushrooms. Now, if you're the type that doesn't mind consuming 1000+ calories in a few bites, the ice cream sandwich with fresh baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies is right up your alley. It is so good I can't help but mutter audible pleasure sounds with every bite, regardless of how many people are around. I order a tky and broccoli cheese soup from this potbelly at least three times a month. Their online ordering system is great, you can rack up point for perks (think: free cookie or bogo sandwich! Real legit!) and save your payment information. Online order pickup is separate from the eat in line so you are in and out in a flash! Parking is a little difficult because of the popularity of this chain for lunch, along with nearby lunch spots.
