Love this place! It's family owned too so I try to come out here to support whenever I can. Food is fresh and service is really nice. First time I came here to try it out it was pretty dead despite the yummy food so I wanted to visit another time when I came back for a work trip and was glad to see it was PACKED! Line moved a bit slow because of that but each person had a big smile on their face despite the pressure on churning out orders which was appreciated. If you've never had poke, it's mainly raw fish marinated and chopped up served over a bed of rice and other things. You can customize it like Chipotle. Despite the Maui reference, this is not traditional Hawaiian poke so as long as you're ok with that, this place is great! I got the #8 Combo Poke which was great. Seafood was very fresh and the sauce was delicious. I also got a matcha boba - pretty well priced and good, boba was chewy and the matcha was a good flavor. While waiting for an India clothing store to open at noon, I stopped by Maui Fresh Grill. Place is nice inside with plenty of seating and the obligatory Hawaiian scenes on the walls. People are as friendly as can be and patient, also good at explaining how the orders are put in for Poke bowls/ salads. Word of warning, though, it's not a quick in and out place. It was lunch time so understandable, but between delivery orders and in house it was a solid fifteen minutes before I got to start my order and I was the third person in line. Lots of great options to eat here for both fish and cooked meat lovers alike. I'd recommend just using one of the pre-designed bowls and then making small modifications so that you don't feel so overwhelmed. The flavor of the yellowtail with mango was incredibly worth the wait however. And though it's another $7, the addition of unagi was both a good portion and a melt in your mouth flavor. If you like eel, this one is a must try. Everything felt fresh and pretty good, the one knock being the quite tasteless rice. I'd recommend a little furikake on the rice next time for flavor. I understand the economics of using plain rice vs sushi style but you can taste the difference. Being a native of Hawaii I was obliged to try the Musubi and the Hawaiian Mac salad. Interesting take on the musubi, basically a double decker of spam, but seemed acceptable to me. The Hawaiian Mac salad however with carrots and peas, way too moist, and just a smidge too much vinegar flavor I can not recommend. They do have good options for children so families ok here. There are a few options that don't start until 1PM, in particular the Loco Moco, so just letting anyone know if that's what they're looking for go after 1 o'clock...LOL... The cost of a poke bowl ($15), eel (7), spam (5), Hawaiian Mac (4), fountain drink (3) put the bill at around $37......so I can't in good conscience call this a great value and would instead say slightly overpriced. That along with a couple of misses on food, slow process, and accounting for the overall friendliness; giving credit for the very great proteins and 4-star is the finally tally. read more

I ordered the build your own (grill bowl) with teriyaki chicken and coconut rice. I wasn't sure of which toppings to get so I left it at that. This is it. Look no further for quality with quantity poke. I have been disappointed by other poke joints in the dfw because of their lackluster fish to carb ratio. Maui fresh grill does not disappoint. You will not finish all the fish and be left wondering why there is a ton of rice left. They carry a large variety of topping selections. Unfortunately, they advertise a limit of 12 toppings per bowl but in my experience they don't really care about that limit. For those who are not a fan of raw fish, they offer cooked proteins as well. The servers are very nice and patient with those who are new to poke bowls. The establishment is very clean with a decent number of tables for sit down dining. The only negative I can think of is that thid place isnt open on Sundays for your after church craving. This Chipotle-style Asian fusion restaurant was a welcome find on a recent business trip to Dallas. I ordered one of their premade bowls, but the owner (I think) talked me into a grill bowl (build your own). The add-ins are plentiful with a plethora of sauces. We had a meeting in the area and Maui kitchen looked appetizing from yelp pictures. I was sold on the idea of eating poke bowls. It was $11.95 for the salmon cado poke bowl and $14.95 for the combo cado poke bowl. MINDBLOWINGLY GOOD. I would make the drive from Fort worth just to come here again. Why doesn't it exist on Fort worth? Every single ingredient was perfect and I got all the toppings :) it was actually so good that I never even tried my husband's combo bowl. First time he got away with that :p The portion was generous and my salmon was melt in your mouth good. If you've never been here before I highly recommend getting one of their menu options and get all three of the sauces. My husband got the main three and a little teriyaki to compliment the shrimp in his combo dish. Besides getting all the toppings, my only customization was choosing coconut rice, which I highly recommend! We ordered the spam musubi $2.95 to share and a mango and taro Boba tea $3.95. I've never had spam before and now I totally understand. It's delicious! Boba tea was yum!! Covid note: tables were well cleaned, social distancing markers and masks and gloves were worn by employees as well as enforcing masks for customers. This was a meal to remember. There were people that were regulars and man, they spoil themselves with tasty lunches. I promise you will have an explosion of flavor from these poke bowls. I really love this local poke joint in Irving! The staff is always kind and willing to make recommendations when creating your meal. They are also the only place serving spam musubi in the area that I know of! You have the choice of creating a poke bowl, ordering a pre-selected bowl, or trying some plates like katsu or tacos. I always make my own bowl because they have tons of yummy toppings like fruit, vegetables, and a variety of yummy sauces you can mix in. My favorites are the citrus ponzu and Korean gochu grill!
