Everything was packed neatly, and they actually remembered to toss in the soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger (which doesn't always happen elsewhere!). Super glad I found this place. I'll definitely be back soon to try more of the menu. If you're in Coppell, you gotta check them out!

The dining room was bright, white, clean and open and their huge bar was in the middle. I was immediately greeted by the hostess who sat me down and gave suggestions. I started with the Japanese Highball cocktail which had flavors of yuzu and lychee mixed with Japanese whiskey and topped with Topo Chico...Best drink I've had in a LONGGGGG time. My appetizer was the kaarage chicken. It was good, the pieces were crispy but they were also huge. I'm used to karaage being bite sized but I had to take bites out of this huge chicken lol. I ordered two hand rolls, Rainforest Roll and the Wagyu Roll. The rainforest roll had flavor of fresh tuna, topped with a tempura shrimp. Amazing! The Wagyu roll was good but it was very simple and to the point. Not a burst of flavors in every bite. Literally just meat and rice. To make a long story short, I cannot wait to go back to get another highball and rainforest roll!

Everything was so high quality and made to perfection. I also ordered the cucumber salad which was crisp and refreshing and my friend ordered the chicken karaage. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, the Lychee Yuzu Classic High ball, completely sealed the deal !! This cocktail was perfectly balanced! I kid you not, I could have totally gone back and ordered it all over for dinner, that's how good it was!

Refreshing Surprise - Passion & Care…read more I was down the street getting a haircut and had a craving for sushi, so I opened Yelp, spotted Kanzi, and decided to swing by. I'm so glad I did. Kanzi is one of those refreshing surprises: an approachable neighborhood sushi spot that clearly cares about the details. They may not be trying to be an ultra high-end omakase destination with otoro and uni, but what they do offer, they execute with care, precision, and pride. The fish was clearly well stored and well cared for, and the cuts were clean and thoughtful. I tried the red snapper, eel, mackerel, yellowtail, masago, super white tuna with fresh wasabi, and one roll: the no-rice Cool Hawaiian. I'll post a few pictures as well because the presentation really deserves it. I sat at the bar and had the chance to talk with Hong, the chef preparing my food. I learned that he took over the restaurant from his brother and still visits sushi restaurants around DFW at least twice a week to keep learning, tasting, and improving his own craft. That told me everything I needed to know. There is real passion here. Hong believes the details matter, from a clean bathroom to the right Japanese knife, specially purchased for left-handed use. That kind of care shows up in the food and in the overall experience. Go visit Kanzi, sit at the bar if you can, and tell Hong that Tait says hello -- and thank you. Pro Tip: Kanzi is currently BYOB. There is a liquor store right across the parking lot, literally within about 50 feet. Walk in, head to the cooler on the far right, grab a cold bottle of sake, and bring it back with you. Kanzi has sake cups ready to go, which makes the whole experience even better.

As a former fan of "all you can eat" buffets, I noticed as I've gotten older, I'm no longer a fan of "all ya can eat", but hangin' out with da fellas is fun. What can I say about Japan House? 1. The restaurant had an extensive sushi menu for all you can eat. 2. Exceptional service! Our waitress was very attentive, she kept checking up on us and placed our food orders quickly. After placing the food order, the food came out quickly. 3. This restaurant was one of the first restaurants that used an electronic robot. The robot machine brought out the simple items, and I even saw the robot sing "Happy Birthday" to a restaurant patron. 4. The restaurant is casual, and pretty dark inside. 5. The sushi quality is about "middle of the road", not the best, but far from bad. What do you expect for all you can eat? Check out my pics..... And if ya gotta ask, YES......all that food pics I took, I actually ate all that food. I swear when I got back to the hotel, I was in total kanak attack (Hawaiian Paralysis). Lol!
