A friend and I decided to go to Jinbeh for lunch on a Friday. She wanted sushi and I wanted…read morehibachi. This was my first time going. We were seated right away, and only 1 other person was seated at our grill with us. We took advantage of the lunch special, but were NOT HAPPY to find out that no matter which entree we chose the fried rice would cost us each $5.00 extra! That is ridiculous. We came to a hibachi grill to order normal hibachi/Japanese food. Fried rice should not cost extra, especially $5.00 extra per person!! Anyway, I ordered fried rice with shrimp and ribeye. My friend had sushi, a roll, and fried rice with double shrimp. The food was delicious, but the cost was more than we had intended to pay for lunch. There were some communication issues with the staff because a couple of them couldn't speak English and we couldn't speak Spanish. One time, my drink was taken to be refilled, but never brought back. I couldn't get the servers to understand what I was saying when I was trying to explain to them that my drink was never brought back to the table. Thankfully, the other diner sitting at our grill could speak Spanish. She translated for me. Overall, the food was delicious, fried rice should be included in the price, the restaurant was clean, and even though there were some language issues, the staff weren't overly friendly or welcoming, but they were nice enough.

This meal reminded us of our past travels in Japan. I ordered the Hiroshima and my partner ordered the GOAM!, I would recommend both. The atmosphere was nicely dark, and the service was incredible. Very attentive and the server gave us a great explanation of the menu before we ordered.

Today we decided to split up to order a few different entrees - I headed to another spot and my friend ordered the Omurice with shrimp and chicken, pricey, but looked beautiful- flavor was not present. This was the same situation with the first time we visited and tried the katsu. Although the Omurice was not our favorite- we had quite a large portion remaining and wanted to take it home- I decided to get two to-go boxes from the food stall I ordered another dish from but forgot to ask for a bag. I decided to pop by this stall and ask for one instead- When I approached the young man was quite focused on setting up trays with forks and spoons, I patiently waited until he acknowledged me- then I asked twice for a plastic bag and he acted like he didn't hear me or didn't understand- then I pointed to the bag- he glanced down at my to-go boxes I obtained from the other food stall I patroned and rudely said "you are not our customer" after my friend spent almost $25 for our food and left a tip this is what he had to say to me- I embarrassingly added- "we are sitting over there and you can see we ordered the Omurice- he agreed. Very sad to be treated that way when I was courteous to him. He could have told me a million different ways- but that was unkind and embarrassing. What an unpleasant experience with lackluster food.

An absolutely stunning dining experience -- both visually and flavor-wise…read more The oysters were incredibly fresh and beautifully presented on ice, paired with ponzu and bonito flakes sauce that added the perfect umami depth and citrus brightness. Each bite was clean, briny, and layered with complexity without overwhelming the natural sweetness of the oyster. The uni pasta was one of the most surprising dishes of the night. I'll admit -- I was initially a little disappointed to learn the uni was cooked rather than served raw. However, the creativity completely won me over. The sauce was rich, velvety, and deeply savory, coating the noodles beautifully. It felt comforting yet elevated -- a bold and thoughtful execution. The sushi was exceptional. The fish cuts were buttery and precise, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. The wasabi had that real, clean heat -- not overly harsh -- and truly brought out the natural sweetness of the fish instead of overpowering it. Even the pickled ginger was perfectly balanced: not too sweet, lightly sour, and pleasantly crisp, which is rare and very appreciated. The pork belly was another standout -- crispy exterior, tender and juicy inside -- paired with apple slices and a vibrant purée that added brightness and contrast. The textures and balance were spot on. From plating to flavor composition, everything felt intentional and refined without being pretentious. A thoughtful, creative menu that respects traditional Japanese elements while adding modern twists. The wait staffs are a knowledge and attentive. Definitely a five-star experience. I would happily return.
