A friend and I decided to go to Jinbeh for lunch on a Friday. She wanted sushi and I wanted hibachi. This was my first time going. We were seated right away, and only 1 other person was seated at our grill with us. We took advantage of the lunch special, but were NOT HAPPY to find out that no matter which entree we chose the fried rice would cost us each $5.00 extra! That is ridiculous. We came to a hibachi grill to order normal hibachi/Japanese food. Fried rice should not cost extra, especially $5.00 extra per person!! Anyway, I ordered fried rice with shrimp and ribeye. My friend had sushi, a roll, and fried rice with double shrimp. The food was delicious, but the cost was more than we had intended to pay for lunch. There were some communication issues with the staff because a couple of them couldn't speak English and we couldn't speak Spanish. One time, my drink was taken to be refilled, but never brought back. I couldn't get the servers to understand what I was saying when I was trying to explain to them that my drink was never brought back to the table. Thankfully, the other diner sitting at our grill could speak Spanish. She translated for me. Overall, the food was delicious, fried rice should be included in the price, the restaurant was clean, and even though there were some language issues, the staff weren't overly friendly or welcoming, but they were nice enough. read more

They joined two section so we could all dine together. Everyone enjoyed their food and had such a great time. The staff worked hard to get us all taken care of and brought out my aunt's cake to help us celebrate. For my meal I ordered the Teriyaki Steak and it was so flavorful and delicious. From the outside this place doesn't look like much, but inside there are multiple rooms of tables, grills, & a bar. I had the shrimp hibachi lunch with steamed rice & overall it was pretty good. Portions were large as expected from any hibachi place & service was great. The miso soup was disappointing it tasted like hot water with sliced mushroom garnish..no miso taste or flavor. Very disappointed and sad. The food was not nearly as good as it used to be, been coming here for over 20 years. No presentation from the hibachi cook, everything rushed, and it wasn't busy or people waiting - empty tables. Also, noticed there were few people working, the same cook for our group as the group that just sat before us as well as same servers for the entire place. 1 piece of chicken divided amongst 6 people. This is NOT a cheap place to take a family but was a special occasion, my grown son's birthday. Stopped in for a quick hibachi lunch. They had hand sanitizer at the door and we were at the end of lunch rush so we wound up with a whole table to ourselves. Ummmm i love Jinbeh and all but the cleanliness on this last visit was NASSTAAAYYY. When we were seated at the table there was still left over food on the grill that had not been cleaned from the last guests. Then i look at the floor behind the grills and it's covered in tiny little grains of rice that look like they've been there forever, yuck! I was seriously contemplating my dinner at that point but i had to push those thoughts back lol. We were a group of 3 and thought we would maybe have the table to ourselves since they are not that large but nope! They squeezed a family of 4 right next to us. Literally elbow to elbow. This is one of my favorite places.   Even as a vegetarian they have a lot of great option.  I got the veggie hibachi with fried rice.  You have to get the fresh fried rice.  It's amazing.  The chef prepared our food right in front of us.  It is very flavorful and tasty.  Only downside is they don't seat you till your full party arrives.  I will be back soon read more

This place is in an older strip mall right off of the highway. It is next to Academy. When we walked in sports were playing on a TV to the right. That is the bar area. We stood at the hostess station and were immediately seated. You share a table with other...no big deal because the table is long like a pool table. The cooktop is in the center and the chef comes out wheeling his cart of food. He does a few tricks and then gets to cooking. I tried the egg rolls and they were good. I did not like the salad dressing they put on my salad. The food was excellent, I actually looked forward to eating my left overs the following day! My water glass never went below half. We spent my friends birthday here. The staff was really nice and helpful. The food... didn't try the soup bc I didn't like the way it smelled. The salad was pretty yummy. The food was mediocre and was very salty. I decided to try the Japanese noodles. Had there not been so much salt, it would've probably been pretty good. Not great but maybe not terrible. The good: We were greeted in quickly. Drinks were frequently refilled. Main courses were tasty. Not good: We ordered gyoza as an appetizer. After 20 minites, during which time our waitress did not check on us at all, our main dishes came out. We asked about the gyoza, and we were told that gyoza takes 15 to 20 minutes. As an appetizer? Gyoza? We have never, anywhere, at any time ever until today, had to wait 20 minutes for gyoza. So we asked for the gyoza to be removed from our tab. I ordered hibachi salmon. When I ordered it, I asked for the sautéed vegetables instead of hibachi vegetables. Our waitress said No problem. When the salmon did arrive, however, it had the hibachi vegetables after all. Given that I was already hungry (because we never got the gyoza), I didn't want to say anything about this and just went ahead and ate the meal as served. The salmon was delicious. My husband asked for lemon chicken. In our experiece, lemon chicken is typically chicken that is battered and fried, topped with lemon sauce. The chicken my husband received was not battered and it did not actually taste like lemon either; despite that, my husband said it did taste good and he went ahead and ate it. When we got the check we saw an extra $10 charge that turned out to be for 2 orders of fried rice. Our waitress said this was stated on the menu. Okay, maybe we missed that. But $5 for 1 serving of fried rice is excessive. We paid, and tipped decently, but we will not be back. To summarize: App never came out, my side dish was wrong, my husband's main dish did not seem to fit the description but was still tasty, and fried rice is $5 extra per serving. Okay so you can't eat like this all the time, the fried rice and meats are really rich and full of butter. But, it remains our most favorite hibachi place in the 18 years we've lived in north Texas. You get lots of good specials during the week for lunch AND for special occasions (like Valentine's Day) they even bring in Kobe steaks - be sure to ask when you order. The staff here are great and accommodating. Service is quick and you rarely have to ask for a refill. I like the starter salad and light soup, adding Sriracha to spice it up. I only like onion and mushroom for the veggies and ending with the yummy and nutritious bean sprouts. The lobster is on point and the filet is very tender. Go there, get some! Their sushi menu is quite good as well and be sure to ask for the extensive adult beverage menu. read more

The service is going downhill fast. It is a Friday night and we are celebrating our 14 year old's birthday. We get a reservation based on his request. We sit at the hibachi table expecting a show. And what do we get? We get a guy who doesn't do anything with the utensils and actually forgets the sprouts. In fact, we had to call him out on that. "Are you going to cook the sprouts?" "You want the sprouts?" "Yes" "OK" He had set aside a onion ring tower to do the choo choo train trick, but then threw that onion ring tower in the trash when he messed it up. I have always enjoyed the Jinbeh in Irving and did not even know this particular location in Lewisville existed until a friend suggested we go there for lunch today. Located on the north side of Interstate 35, close to Academy sports, this location seems a little more clean and updated than the Irving location. I ordered a Hibachi Steak and Shrimp Combo with Fried Rice. It was delicious! It came with hibachi vegetables and bean sprouts along with salad and soup. They close at 9 and always make sure we get our food even if we come in with 10 minutes left, and they are always so friendly to us. I love the mama son roll.
