I made a reservation through resy in order to use my Amex credit for Saturday night 2 ppl at 6:45 pm. The only reservation slots left when I booked in the morning were 6:45 or past 9 pm. We ended up being 10 minutes late but fortunately they were still able to accommodate us. They said we had to wait about 10 mins for a table to open up. We sat in the waiting area and it was extremely crowded! It seems like it was the same day as prom. We got seated next to a party of 4 that was celebrating their birthday. The chef was mostly interacting with their family with the jokes and tricks and ignoring mine which was a bit heartbreaking because even though it wasn't our birthday we still paid. It felt like I was on the outside of the greatest inside joke and my family was invisible. It was actually my first restaurant meal to celebrate my moving to Texas so it was even more disappointing the chef didn't even bother to look in our direction yet was constantly looking at the other family. I ordered the chili shrimp roll for appetizer which was really good especially because the chef takes a really long time to come out and I was starving. We ate the fried rice, squid, scallops and more and it was really delicious. I got a to go box which filled me up for the next day as well. read more

Came here to celebrate my uncle's birthday on a Sunday. It wasn't too crowded when we had. We made a reservation, however, one of the members of our party was running behind, so we couldn't be seated until they arrived, which makes total sense, since they cook everything at once in front of you. The hosts and bartender were great, while we all waited in the bar area until we could be seated. My dad wanted to play a little joke on my sister (the one that was running late), and he was totally on board! I love that he had such a great attitude to join in on some family fun to joke on the last to arrive having to pay the bill for everyone! Anywho, once we were all there, we were seated and off to the races, we were HUNGRY!!! Our server greeted us pretty quickly and took our drink order. I think he may have gotten double sat, it did take a little while to get our drinks back, but 2 8 tops back to back is a hard feat, IYKYK!!! Anywho, when our drinks came back, we ordered our food, some folks had some questions, and he was super patient with answering all the questions, and making some recommendations based on what they were wanting. Soon after, our chef came out to a full table and ready to cook. He was a pretty quiet chef compared to some of the other chefs around, so that was a little on the underwhelming side, especially sine it was a birthday! We were all excited to be there, and we may have been a little to much for him in terms of volume of conversation and laughter! The food was really good. I am writing to express my disappointment with our visit to your restaurant last night. We dined as a group of seven to celebrate a close friend's birthday--a yearly tradition we have maintained for nearly nine years. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short of the experience we have come to expect from Benihana. The food was consistently overcooked and, in some cases, scorched. The steak was well past the requested temperature, the shrimp was overcooked, and even the vegetables were burnt. Overall, the food quality was mediocre at best and certainly not reflective of today's menu prices. In addition, there was very little interaction from the chef, which is a significant part of the Benihana experience and one of the main reasons we return each year. Service was also lacking, as our table was not properly bussed throughout the meal. Given the cost of the meal and our long history of loyalty, this experience was extremely disappointing. What has been a cherished annual tradition for us may unfortunately have come to an end as a result of this visit. I wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that this feedback helps prevent similar experiences for other guests. read more

Dinner was superb... hadn't been to this location in a few years and actually hadn't eaten Benihana in over a year. Oh well it brought back all the good memories. Food was amazing, waitresses pleasant and cook was the highlight of the evening. Ambiance loud with laughter and ppl having a good time enjoying the chef's show. 10 out of 10 for food and drinks . I give it 4 stars due to the price increase on everything across the menu.... Like OMG if you ask for extra sauce at the table they imply they have to send for it in the back they no longer have just sauces on the cart if you didn't order that off the menu for example if you decide you want teriyaki sauce added in the mist of them cooking it's an additional charge. That was pretty weird to me , but hey overall great food . Pricey but still worth it. It's sad when, over the course of a couple of years, that you see a fine restaurant like Benihana going downhill. Unfortunately, we've seen thus happening here. The last couple of visits, I've had the Land and Sea. A Filet Mignon with scallops. You probably know what a filet mignon looks like. A hockey puck shape of the most tender cut of meat. It was a warning sign when the chef brought out the cart of our uncooked provisions and each of the filets consisted of 3 pieces of meat. That just doesn't look like a slice of tenderloin. Turns out that it isn't, but I'll get to that in a minute. Our chef cooked the meat to the requested medium rare level that I requested. He was in such a hurry to finish that he cut it into pieces, many of which were too big to comfortably chew. Armed with only a fork, which wasn't sharp enough to cut this rather chewy meat, I had to eat big chunks, some of which had fat that didn't chew so well. Not a pleasant experience. I finally gave up and asked Chiela for the manager. I didn't want to make a scene, but I did want to describe the problem. The manager was very understanding. He said that their vendor has been trying to provide alternative cuts of meat that don't affect quality and add value. He apologized for the low quality and offered us a couple of New York cut steaks to take home. I won't go into the rest of the rather poor service from the chef, but the manager apologized for that, too. That's forgivable, but serving a filet mignon that looks and feels like it came from Aldis, especially after raising the price, that's just too much. If you have to raise the price, don't forsake quality. read more

11/11/25: We went for dinner, and I'm glad that we had reservations. The restaurant was pretty busy, and we had about a 15 minute wait. The décor was pretty nice, although there was limited seating in the waiting area. Once we were seated, we had a great time. The chef was friendly and entertaining. The food was great, the beer was cold, and the deserts were pretty good. There is a parking garage down the block, and very limited street parking. read more

Looks like there's nothing but one star reviews which is a shame it used to be quite a nice place. My experience was not that uncommon from everyone else else's when it comes to the food in the service in the ambience. In the future instead of coming to this location with all the problem that they have including the bathroom that smell smells worse than any barn that I was ever in. God knows what the kitchen I'll be choosing an authentic local location has to be better than this. Instead of replying back with a cut and paste reply which I don't know if they're really thinking about this maybe they could actually fix the problems shut down for a few weeks retrain rehash. Planned a special night for my daughter's birthday. As we waited for our group of 10 to arrive, we listened to the hostess staff using the f-word multiple times as they carried on in front of us. Not professional at all! We got seated at the habachi table- food was good, but no real show or excitement. I asked for teriyaki sauce for my chicken and was charged $7.50 for it. Wow! Service was very mediocre. Couldn't taste alcohol on any of the drinks. When dinner ended, I asked if they were going to sing happy birthday, they showed up with a tiny plastic dressing cup with maybe a quarter ounce of whipping crème and a candle. Oh my gosh! I've never had hibachi before and while I was in town, I really wanted to try. Benihana was the first place that popped into my mind and for good reason, so we decided to come here. We got a teppenyaki table for our group of 4 and shared it with 2 others. We came for lunch on the 4th of July and were told that they don't have lunch specials on holidays, however they did let us split regular entrees among 4 people. The portion sizes here are HUGE, so we split 2 entrees among 4 people and it was enough to feel satisfied but not super full. The entrees that we ordered came with salad/soup and dessert/tea. The salad and soup were pretty mid and not good quality, and it wasn't clear that tea was included in the price of the meal set (we never received it) The hibachi dishes themselves were pretty good - although I expected better for the prices they are charging. The highlight of the meal was definitely the performance that our chef put on and the onion volcano that topped off the experience. Our chef was clearly very talented with hibachi and it made for a fun show! The ginger sauce that came with the meal was also super yummy read more

You have to ask for it (most don't know about this menu) and thus trick people into ordering high price dinner items. 3. Teriyaki Sauce was never charged in the past. They charge $2 now. 4. Prices have gone up here and at the same time they are now nickel and diming customers. 5. There is hardly anyone at the restaurant now and I guess i am not alone in seeing these problems. Didn't remember that part of the extravagant prices were for the entertainment from a chef using a hibachi grill. A few other tables had more upbeat cooks. From the soup to the sauces, the dry chicken to the friend rice up charge with two pieces of carrot and an onion slice, shrimp was probably ok. So disappointing! I used to be that Benihana was the gold standard for hibachi. Reservation was at 7, we arrived a few minutes before. Still waiting 50 minutes. Five zero for our table. The bartenders were very nice and drinks good. Service - the waitress was friendly but they kept adding soup, salad, etc and not clearing the plates. They had stuck an extra seat at our table, so it was uncomfortable. Chef - really phoned it in. No interaction, nothing fun at all. Food- I could have excised all the rest of the good was good. It wasn't. The fried rice tasted of old oil. Very poorly seasoned. I couldn't even eat it. One of the people in our party ordered yakisoba and it was similarly inedible. We have gone to this location for many years and I'm sorry to say it has gone down hill. I called to make my birthday reservation and on the phone the girl said you will get a birthday hat/song & picture, we haven't been offered the picture for quite a few years so I thought they have stepped up their game. We tried this place for dinner recently and had a great time. We haven't been here for 15+ years, but we are glad we tried it again. The chili ponzu yellowtail and pan fried gyoza dumpling appetizers were great as a starter. The fried rice, shrimp, chicken, and filet mignon were great. The $22 kids meal was a ton of food for our 3 year old, but we made a couple meals out of it. We were very entertained by the gentleman cooking the food. My daughter was mesmerized. Our 2 sons took my wife here for Mother's Day at her request. PROS: The service was spot on and the food was TERRIFIC. We all had something different and each of us enjoyed our choice immensely. We are a family of cooks and foodies so that says a lot. We lived in Asia 3 years. The waitress checked on us regularly and was delightful. CONS: They crowded 9 people around a setting that is comfortable for 7. And my wife was in a wheelchair. It was just too tight. There was no "show". The chef pilled the fried rice into a heart shaped pile and that was it. No fancy knife work. No flicked shrimp. No onion volcano. It was BORING. Very disappointing. We don't come here for the food. Frankly we can get better elsewhere for the prices. We come for the pizzaz and the showmanship. We didn't get it. I complained to the waitress who said she would send a manager. But none ever came. The chef was pretty silent and did not really do much to capture an experience, and the food he made was not very good. I ordered the filet + chicken with fried rice, and as expensive as it was, I felt like I ordered something worth $20. The rice was good, not great. My chicken was really hard to eat, it was not good. Had a reservation for 7 people for a birthday dinner booked 2 days ago for tonight for 6:15pm. Arrived on time and was told there were over 5 full tables of people waiting in front of us and only 1 table getting ready to go. Every other table had just sat down or were in the process. Asked how long it would be, said they couldn't say, had to press them to finally say at least an hour. We had two little kids and family that had driven in, eventually we had to leave as we were never seated despite our reservation time. What is the point of a reservation if there is an hour or more wait past the time chosen? Never trying this restaurant chain again and I recommend you do not either unless you want to waste your time, your family's time, and be packed in a small space with 40 other people waiting for their reservations just like you Eventually they called me to say my table was ready (we had already left it was an hour after our time) and when I told them what happened they just said they would cancel our table and hung up. The service was fine, as was the chef, who was quite entertaining. Also, the food was on par with each time we've been there, which is dozens of times over the years. However, I need to let everyone know that the prices have skyrocketed - and I'm talking about out of the atmosphere. It wasn't long ago that a Land & Sea was in the mid-$30s range. It is now over $50. And the chicken fried rice is now a $7 up-charge, per person. That's $14 for both of us to have a bit of chicken, some veggies, an egg, and some soy sauce added to white rice. Benihana's used to be on our regular list of restaurants to choose from. You know how that conversation goes: "Where do you want to go for dinner tonight? How about Outback? Or Benihana's?" Not any longer. Benihana's is no longer on ANY list of ours. The value is simply not there any longer. I always enjoy the hibachi food here. The hibachi show is great for kids or first timers. Normally, the service leaves something to be desired because they try to rush you out and don't start service until the table is full. It's the nature of the business but for people like me who like to linger and enjoy my food/drink it can be less than ideal. Yesterday however, we were there to use the $30 birthday Chef's Table coupon like we do every year and we had an excellent experience. We had an early reservation, right when they opened, and ended up getting a table all to ourselves. This allowed us to chat up the waitstaff and the chef and take our time.
