So much better than all the mom & pop places in Lewisville & The Colony. The service was fast and personable. The food was absolutely delicious. The chef was skilled and funny. We had opted for a bar table but they sat us at a teppenyaki table anyway. We did learn that they WILL let you split entrees. They have a duo lunch special for $27 so two could easily dine on that. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the rice was wonderful and reheated well for dinner from all the leftovers. The B veggies are just onions and zucchini so I do wish they added carrots and broccoli. These guys are the original and the best for a reason. Do yourself a favor and check them out. Oh! I recently visited this Benihana location to celebrate my 19th birthday yesterday last night with my friends, and unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined by the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of our waiter. From the moment we arrived, his attitude made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. When one of my friends asked a simple question about the menu, he rudely responded, "I'll come back after you don't ask dumb questions." This was completely unnecessary and set a negative tone for the rest of our meal. He repeatedly shook his head in annoyance while walking away and barely tended to our table. Unlike other tables, we were given small kids' water cups, and when we politely asked for refills, he acted visibly frustrated. At times, we had to ask other staff members for water because our table was repeatedly left empty. When it was time to order, he stood silently, waiting for my friend to notice him instead of communicating that he was ready to take her order. When she realized and began to speak, he walked away in frustration, again shaking his head. This lack of communication made our experience even more uncomfortable. Additionally, when he took a group photo of us, we had no idea it was for a printed keepsake. The photo was poorly taken, with one of my friends having her eyes closed, and rather than making any effort to ensure a good picture, he acted as if taking it was a burden. Even the hibachi chef noticed the issue and asked a busboy why our server seemed so angry. That alone speaks volumes about how unprofessional and unnecessary his attitude was. I don't remember any of their names but I have a picture of the server that was extremely disrespectful and this cannot be tolerated. I understand that everyone has bad days, but as a server in a customer-facing role, professionalism and courtesy should still be expected. Despite his attitude, we remained respectful and expressed gratitude throughout the meal, saying "please" and "thank you" whenever appropriate. This was my first time celebrating my birthday at Benihana, and unfortunately, it left a terrible impression. I had been looking forward to this experience, but the poor service completely overshadowed the occasion. I sincerely hope management addresses this issue to prevent future guests from having a similarly disappointing experience. We asked about the text at 7:10 and was told an automated system sent that out. No other information was provided. We waited 19 minutes and were called at 7:20. Made our way to our table with the other folks. Just before seating we were turned around and told there was a mix up - we needed to wait. There was a larger party of 11 that wanted to split their party differently (5 and 6 versus 8 and 3) and they didn't want to sit with others. We were told to sit at the table they were at... and had to wait for them to decide and then move. They had seated, touched all the things and were conversing with management. We asked the manager if we could have them (the large party) move while they were deciding so we could sit. We were told no we had to wait. We ended up leaving at 7:25 as we were still waiting for a table. So disappointing. read more

When you visit Benihana, you know what to expect. You're going to get a great show, great food, and a unique experience with a hibachi chef. We got what we paid for, and it was as expected. We came the day of my daughters graduation. We arrived early, so it was not very crowded. We ordered a couple drinks, and chatted with a couple that sat at our table with us. After a few minutes, our chef comes to our table and the show starts. He drops the food on the grill, does the dancing shrimp, tosses and egg around a spins a little... and even does the choo choo train onion. Our hibachi chef made great non-obtrusive conversation, managed to keep my two teenagers entertained (even though they've been here a few times), and kept everyone at our table engaged. My only complaint was that they were having AC problems, and there was a drop of water that would hit me right on the shoulder blade once every ten minutes or so. I informed the young lady that sat us, but she simply apologized and explained they had an external AC unit and they were working on it. It was my daughters graduation though, and I wasn't in the mood to go fill Mr Diva, so I just went with it... but they need to get that worked out... Other than the AC issue, the food was amazing as always, the staff was friendly and fun, and we had a great time watching a talented chef make delicious food. read more

This was the third year of our family tradition of going to this Benihana for Christmas. Years one and two were great. This year, not so much. When we arrived for our one o'clock reservation, we were told they were "running behind" but not by how much (that is key: manage expectations so people can self care). There were many unhappy customers waiting without seats and many in the chilly outdoors. It was angry mob energy NOT Christmas energy. To pass the time we went to the bar but the bartenders were so busy that we weren't acknowledged for 15 minutes. The bartender didn't give us an itemized receipt. The tab for two beers, a mixed drink, edamame, and goyza was $55 which I only mention because that was an additional cost to us during the unacceptable wait. We were finally seated 90 minutes later but not acknowledged by staff for another 15 minutes. By this point, we were all beyond hungry and thirsty and frankly, were skeptical of our holiday choice. They lost many customers in this wait. The good: Benihana has a consistent food product: good. Not amazing or the best, but you go for the experience. That's where they got it wrong this year. The experience was degraded by the unacceptable wait. I have ideas for how to lessen that impact: 1) call or text the folks with reservations and ask that they come at an updated time. That gives the customer a choice because after all, it is Christmas and most of us have multiple plans. Plus it manages their expectations and hunger. Since you didn't do that ... here's what you can do once you have a bunch of hangry customers 2) hand out bottled water to the people waiting 3) get the drinks, salad and soup down right when the guest sit down 4) offer everyone a x% discount in a future visit I felt bad for the employees too. He makes the experience incredible every time and just as memorable as sitting down for a full hibachi service! The staff and management are first class. All the managers ensure a first rate visit! My wife and I stepped into Benihana spontaneously while we were in the area for something else--it wasn't a planned visit. Since it was our first time there, we decided to keep it simple and ordered two fried rice dishes and a milkshake. Right from the start, the waitress gave us a judgmental look, as if surprised that we were ordering something so minimal. It felt like we were being looked down upon for not ordering a full meal. At first, we ordered just one fried rice thinking we could share it, but the waitress pointed to a small bowl and said something like, 'This is all you'll get,' with a tone that made us feel awkward. Instead of a polite suggestion, it came off as dismissive. I would've appreciated it more if she had said something like, 'This is the portion size -- would you like to make it two?' with a smile. A warm tone could've made all the difference. As customers, we should feel welcome to order what we're comfortable with--even if it's just a light meal. A restaurant's role is to create a pleasant and respectful environment, not to make guests feel embarrassed or judged. The food was fine, but the attitude made the experience terrible. The good: Our chef was funny, engaging, and our food was great! The bad: 1. We were seated for about 10 minutes before our server stopped by to get our drink orders. 2. When drink orders arrived, she forgot the iced tea. I mentioned this to her, and told her it was fine if she just brought the tea with my meal because I had a drink from the bar at that time. However, when the meal came, I had to remind her again that I had ordered an iced tea - which was greeted with an eyeroll, but delivery of the tea came soon after. 3. We had a table of 9, with a reservation. She seemed flustered. I get it - it's Mother's Day. It's loud, and you are busy. But please do not roll your eyes when someone asks you a question about the menu, or when it takes a little longer for them to explain to you what it is they want. When asked about menu changes, she said I "think" we can do that... 4. When the chef arrived, he was missing 1 chicken breast for 1 entree, scallops for another, and jumbo shrimp from another. Our party had one person with a food allergy (seafood) at our table, so the seafood was not prepared until the end of the preparation of our meals.. this was fine, but we did not realize until after our chef left that parts of 3 meals were missing. 5. When we pointed out that there were parts of the meal missing, our server disappeared for about 10 minutes, and then came back and stated that they were preparing those items to go... and that the mix-up was because of the "food allergy". NO apology was made - and blaming it on a mix-up due to a food allergy was a real turn-off. 6. Our server finally came back, and said that they weren't going to prepare the meals to go, but that they might adjust our check. Then proceeded to tell us she would send a manager over because that would be "easier". 7. The manager came over and again attempted to send us home with the food instead of offering a discount or comping the meals altogether. 8. When we stated that the meal was already over, and that we weren't interested in taking a piece of the meal home with us that was not prepared correctly, we were given a very small adjustment to our check. I would have expected that the meals with missing ingredients would be comped in full, but they were not. 9. Our checks were brought out to us, and when asked about the 5th and 6th part of our 6 course meal (green tea/ice cream) our server said... oh what do you want. I told her not to worry about it, but that it should have been offered prior to bringing us our check. Insert another eyeroll, no apology, and walked off from our table shaking her head. I have always been impressed with service at this location, and have never had problems with our orders... much less, been gaslighted because a member of our party had a seafood allergy, so that "messed everything up". Learn to take responsibility. We did not ask for anything out of the ordinary, but were met with an attitude from the very beginning of our dining experience by our server. I understand that every server has a bad day here and there, but this experience will prevent me from coming in again. We had originally had a reservation on April 22 but when we showed up your restaurant was closed due to a problem with your mechanical problem. At that time we had a coupon for "Pay $35 and get $35" FREE! In late April we called and were told we could use the coupon at a later date and we made a reservation for May 6, 2025 at 4pm. We showed up on 5/6/25 and place our "ORDER". When we finished I was presented with a "BILL" for $106 dollars. I did not want to create a "RUCAS" so I just paid and went home. However, now I need to complain. 1) What happened to my discount? OF ANY AMOUNT? 2) It was my understanding that it was going to be equal to the amount I spent. 3) I gave the coupon I had received from BENIHANA ON LINE to our waiter. 4) By the way! It was my birthday that my wife and I were celebrating and our waiter knew it. After we ate he brought us a "LITTLE PAPER CUP" that could only hold a little bit of "WHIPPED CREAM." Went on a Saturday with a group of 9 and was sat right at our reservation time, great start! Our server, Logan did a great job, was friendly and accommodated everybody's special requests (nothing too major, just no mushrooms for a few of our group). The chef was not as exciting as we had hoped. He did a few tricks, but nothing really outside of the regular and certainly not nearly as interactive as many teppanyaki chefs. Unfortunately, he did not accommodate the no mushrooms request for anybody at the table. Thankfully, for those folks, it was a preference, not an allergy. Chicken and steak was cooked very well, scallops were very overdone and rubbery. Flavors overall were good though. The entryway stone wall needs to be dusted and several aspects of the restaurant need some general cleaning and updating. Nothing bad, but worth noting. Benihana is always a fun dining experience, but maybe consider going down to the location off of 635/75. It has a much nicer ambiance and better parking too. read more

Went to Benihana for the first time ever. From a price point perspective, food and service should be good, if not great. Unfortunately, Benihana failed. After the waitress picked up our soup/salad dishes, she didn't check on our group for drink refills. I had to ask for one. Chef put minimal effort, hence little to no engagement. Food was bland and I fear some cross contamination occurred. I have been to hibachi restaurants before, and had great food and experiences. This was a big let down. Make reservations in advance and make sure that your entire party is all there at once. You get seated and open up the qr code. The menu is quite extensive. So much to choose from... we had a party of ten and a bunch of them were young kids. It is very kid friendly and kids love the show. We all ordered an array of entrees and it all came out the right way. The server was very nice and friendly. The chef performing the hibachi show was very entertaining too. All in all my nephew wanted to come here for his bday so if you want a show, something kid friendly, and tender meat this is for you. read more

Had to ask our server 3 times for a chopsticks. The first time she only gave me one, the second time, she gave my youngest one and not my oldest while she has chopsticks in her apron. Had to ask again when she came around. She never got my sauce containers for my sauces when I asked her and handed me our check without giving my kids ice cream that comes with the kids meal. I had to tell her that the kids should get ice cream with their meals. She was not friendly and seems to have too many tables for her to handle. We had an early dinner reservation on Saturday night. There were three adults and one baby in our party. The second party at the table was an adult with two teenagers. The service was poor. It took about 25 minutes to obtain our drinks from the bar, which were very watered down. After our dinner, order was taken, we only saw the waitress once when she brought the soup and salad. She did not bother to pick up the soup or salad bowls until after we completed our dinner, thus the hibachi table was very crowded. we were all very excited to see the chef put on a show. The chef seem to be more interested in finishing his monologue than interacting with any of the guests. The soup was salty,, the salad was wilted with minimal dressing. The hibachi chicken was overcooked not tender. The fried rice which is my favorite part had no seasoning. Benihana's used to be an exciting place, but now it just appears to be more of a tourist trap. It's certainly is not worth the price and it was overly expensive for three adults and a baby with one well drink each for the adults. read more
