We come here every year for my birthday and to use the $30 birthday coupon from the Benihana website. The wait was about 45 mins after we ordered our food before a cook came to us and it is a Tuesday. I think they had a lack of chefs as others were waiting. I ordered a teriyaki chicken. Chicken tasted chewy. My wife had the surf turf which is shrimp, calamari, scallops and that was much better. read more

We had an early dinner reservation on Saturday night. There were three adults and one baby in our party. The second party at the table was an adult with two teenagers. The service was poor. It took about 25 minutes to obtain our drinks from the bar, which were very watered down. After our dinner, order was taken, we only saw the waitress once when she brought the soup and salad. She did not bother to pick up the soup or salad bowls until after we completed our dinner, thus the hibachi table was very crowded. we were all very excited to see the chef put on a show. The chef seem to be more interested in finishing his monologue than interacting with any of the guests. The soup was salty,, the salad was wilted with minimal dressing. The hibachi chicken was overcooked not tender. The fried rice which is my favorite part had no seasoning. Benihana's used to be an exciting place, but now it just appears to be more of a tourist trap. It's certainly is not worth the price and it was overly expensive for three adults and a baby with one well drink each for the adults. read more

For the drink! It's called the blue ocean punch bowl with only 3 shots in it. (Very disappointed when I found out after ordering) For the meal: I got the ocean Treasure it comes with lobster tail, scallops, shrimp, and fried rice. The meal could have been cooked better with truffle butter. (What other Benihana use) *this Benihana has yum yum sauce!!* read more

Let's start with the good. Very very clean and does not smell. Our chef was pretty good much better than last time. Ok now for everything else... Hostess was not too friendly. Wait staff was incredibly slow and did not remember items. Also, we literally had items left off our order. We had to ask for the items and they were like you still want them. We had the appetizer left off for three meals and the veggies. I mean they did not even comp a soda for leaving off these items for 3 different meals. We were there 1 1/2 hours way way way way way toooooooo long so ridiculous with a lunch reservation to wait this long and then miss items and still come out with same price for items we did not even get. The wait staff was kinda nice but no one was on top of anything and for the price this is just not acceptable to be missing items and not do want is right to take something like off our meal for these items . I saw so many other customers just sitting there at quiet tables. Come on chefs we are paying a premium for a little entertainment not for you to be looking down with not conversations or tricks. Went back to take another star off for the automated message that showed up from the restaurant the minute I posted my review to make it look like they care when it an automated message!!! Not cool read more

Benihana never disappoints. Long standing Hibachi with great service. Always a good show and the food is excellent. Dajon my waiter was very friendly and attentive. Never without a beverage refill. My chef Edgar was excellent. Food was prepared perfectly. I was eating alone for lunch at the Hibachi grill and he was fun to talk to and entertaining. Great service and great food. Will return again. read more

They will lie straight to your face and use the company policy to save there ass!!! The manager Diana did nothing to help!! On top of getting put on a 45 minute wait time and after 45 minutes we get an extra half hour on to our wait.. yeah fuck this place I will never return!!! read more

If I could leave no stars I would. A co- worker and myself ordered to go lunch and had Uber Eats deliver it. Our lunch totaled $47.20. We ordered 2 hibachi chicken, steak, & shrimp. I requested no eggs because I'm allergic but both had eggs. The food was cold, dry, no vegetables, no sauce after I called and requested yum yum sauce. Lastly the meat was chopped up so finely it looked like the rice. It looked like they took 1 shrimp and diced it into a million pieces. Since I can't eat eggs I had to go without eating lunch. The meal was not worth what we paid for it at all and I will never use them or Uber eats again because I messaged them with my complaint and they never even responded. DO NOT ORDER FROM BENIHANA it is a waste of money. read more

Just average for me! Things were over priced for the amount of food. The chef that took care of us was again, average... not very entertaining. The other group that sat with us was boring and not into having a fun time. Next time, IF it happens, will be with a group big enough to take the entire table. Atmosphere was ok. read more

I got the hibachi tuna and it was really good. We went to celebrate a graduation and had a good time.

Took our friends here on the last day of their trip and had a great time. I really enjoyed my spicy fried rice. The mango lemonade also slapped. The chef was skilled and funny. Our waitress Melissa was really friendly and attentive. She put a personal touch on everything, even taking our group photo unprompted. Thanks Melissa! read more

Poorly run and managed. No need to make a reservation. Waited over 45 mins past the scheduled time for a reservation. Then they tried to squeeze in an extra seat. 9 adults at one grill. We were told several time we were next while they sat other table. Spoke with the manager and he shrugged his shoulders. Definitely our last visit to this location. read more

Took my daughter to lunch for an early birthday celebration. Made reservations and was seated as soon as my party had all arrived. We placed our food order along with our drink orders. Waited about 45 minutes and our chef had still not made it over to our table. Needless to say I became frustrated. Advised the waiter that we had another event to be at. The chef showed up about 5 minutes later. The chef made our experience a pleasure. He was friendly and chatting with us and the food OMG. Honestly I never expected the food to be as amazing as it was. I would like to package the garlic butter and take it home with me. Wait time sucked but our overall experience was great with tasty food. read more

Service from waitress was lousy. We ask about items on the menu and she was incorrect. Told us no salmon on menu, upon our further inspection we found salmon on menu (and ordered it). Ordered wrong entree for one of our guests. Refilled my ice tea with something that was not ice tea (and proceeded to spill that drink on me). If that wasn't enough, when it came to the bill she used the electronic pad after I paid with it she gave me the wrong receipt. When I pointed it out she did a charge reverse and then she increased her tip to 35% which I caught and had her reduce. I am now waiting to see what will actually post to my credit card (pending amount is showing much higher). We won't be back. 12/21/2022 update.... My credit card posted and they charged $45 more than I approved. I have challenged with credit card company. B read more

Food is so overpriced for what you get. The "show" was NOTHING when we went. We noticed that the chefs that had children at their table did the show, but our table of adults got nothing. Also went for my birthday and not that I'm entitled to anything for going for my birthday, but they didn't even honor the birthday discount that THEY emailed me. The store is also under major repairs and have up plastic tarp walls. Ugh. Honestly, save 50% and go to Genghis Grill 10 minutes away. read more

Food and chef were amazing! Definitely will be coming back, Jasmine was very attentive and friendly. Will recommend to friends.

The food is great!! Chef was funny and knew his stuff. Everyone enjoyed "the show". Since you sit with 7-8 other folks, made new friends.

Oh boy. I would like to preface that I have had hibatchi AT LEAST 50 times from multiple different places. This was my first time trying any Benihana location and it was SO disappointing. We went last night (ON A MONDAY, they were not busy at all.) to celebrate a birthday, had a reservation for 9. Every single person in our party was dripping sweat, using the menu as a fan. When we asked about air conditioning, we were told this is normal because the have grills. (No other hibatchi place is THIS hot.) it was absolutely miserable. We were not allowed to sit until our entire party had arrived... which is understandable, I just wish this was advertised when I booked the reservation with OpenTable. Once we sat, it took over 10 minutes to get greeted by our server and receive water. We ordered drinks from the bar which took over 20 minutes to receive (for the first round.) when we were ready for more drinks, it took so long to receive them that we just said nevermind and don't even worry about it anymore. Once our food was getting prepared in front of us, it was quite disappointing. I noticed every other table had a fun chef who was talkative and entertaining, and ours didn't do much. Most hibachi entrees at every other place I've been to come with fried rice, and a variety of vegetables. Benihana only give you 1 slice of zucchini and some onions. (I ordered extra zucchini and onions for $5). At Beni all entrees come with steamed rice or you can upgrade to fried rice for $5 PER entree (which is absolutely insane.) Once food was received, I honestly have nothing bad to say, it tasted great, and was cooked perfectly. I was just very disappointed with how much food you receive for the price you pay. Their menu states that you get hot green tea at the end of your meal as part of the "5 course meal". This does not automatically come to you and you must ask for it. And when it arrives it's room temperature. (Also have to ask for the ice cream that comes with the "6 course meal") I noticed other tables got a birthday song and celebration by staff, however we did not. I mentioned to our chef, and server, at least 5 times that we were here celebrating an occasion, and also entered that on OpenTable when I made the reservation and yet we received nothing like the tables around us did. Overall - the food is great, the service and attitude by other staff members really brings down the vibes. And also profusely sweating while trying to eat your meal is quite the buzz kill. We spent $130 for quite literally the worst birthday celebration I've attended. Very disappointing. read more

Almost a 4 star.... The food was good!! Service is nice but the server forgot to bring my husband's steamed rice until he finished his meal. And we couldn't even ask her to bring it since she was no where to be found. When we finally had to ask the cook for the rice, which is I know the wrong person to ask, she brought it a d didn't apologize about it or anything. This is unfortunate since I would have given another star. If you are worried about social distancing, this place is not the place for it. This place was packed. I'd like to give a 5 star to our cook!!! He was amazing and funny!! read more

My reservation was on 8/13/2022 at 6:30 pm... I got there around 6:35pm and the young lady that was at the desk told me we are running about 10 or 15 minutes behind on tables...She also mentioned that they will give me a call and that they had my number... Something like that... So I said okay... But no big deal,Things come up.... Maybe 10 or 15 minutes go by... All of the sudden I hear my name being yelled across the room... Now mine you I didn't hear anyone else name being call.... My waitress checked on us maybe once or twice... The food was amazing but the service was horrible.... Most definitely would not recommend.. The main reason why people love getting out and spending their money such as eating out is to enjoy life.. Is to enjoy other human beings... The staff was the worst... The amount of money this place charge the service should be Excellent. Instead it wasn't...A couple extra more dollars , you can find a really nice steak house with better Customer service... It is really sad because this use to be an awesome great fun loving place... I will never go back ever... Customer service is my number one thing... And this place lacks that, unfortunate... read more

Benihana - Plano - Happy Birthday Nick! - Steakhouses Near Me - Plano, Texas

We have been eating at Benihana's for over 30-40 yrs., all over the US. Always been a fun place to celebrate the kids birthdays. And the food was always pretty good. Last night we went for my grandson's birthday at the Plano location. All I can say is it was a HUGE disappointment. For about the last 3 to 5 times that we've eaten there, the chicken is so dry I can hardly chew it. And so was the case again last night. My daughter agreed also. My son-in-law was the last to get served, and he literally got three pieces of vegetables on his plate. Our family loves vegetables. The portions have gotten very small, and the quality has just gone in the tank. I hope another grand child never wants to eat there again. There are so many newer and better options in restaurants nowadays, especially in the area of this restaurant! I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody! Very sad! **$16+ for A glass of wine! I can buy a whole bottle for that! It was just a regular bar brand! read more

I was here on yesterday, celebrating my birthday, and found myself THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED!! We were having hibachi. So, they took everyone's order, and went to get the food. When he returned, he parked the rolling tray and began preparing the grill to cook. As he's preparing to cook, a woman at the table next to us starts taking food off of our cart with her bare hands!! Wow. Why would anyone think this was ok? Especially with COVID and other communicable diseases floating around... I've never seen anything like this. Yes, I did let the cook and our waitress know. I asked them to say something to her. But to be honest, I don't think they knew how to handle it. It was probably the first time they'd had such a problem. Someone could have told the manager and allowed him to say something to the woman. If you're wondering, no, they didn't change out our food that was on the tray. read more

The host are welcoming and the food taste good. Closest place to get the food that Ra Sushi had.

we had a reservation for a group of 13 people when we got seated we were placed on opposite sides of the restaurant and couldn't even celebrate our friends birthday as we planned. when the cook came he was rushing the service and it took him not even 10 minutes for him to be done and cleaning up while the other table by the time we got done with our food they were still getting the habachi experience . they also forgot one of the steamed rice we had to ask for it in the end by the time we remembered that our friend didn't get it she was already finished with her meal. there should be no reason i am paying $40+ for a maybe 20 minute experience that we can't even experience with our whole group or even sit at the table next to them. read more

Had dinner at Benihana Sunday night. By way this was my 2nd visit which was supposed to make up for the first bad experience. First time was not pleasant. Vegas roll was delicious. Veggies prepared by kitchen were disgusting. Photo below. Pretty much looked and tasted like scraps. I brought it home to be polite. I couldn't force myself to eat it. Waiter treated me as though I was a burden when I explained my preferences. Kept cutting me off every time I spoke. Spent almost 200.00. Disappointed. read more

I went there for my birthday last week with my family. i had a communal siting except me everyone was non vegetarian on the table. Despite of telling chef he cooked meat first and than vegetables so I had to skipped vegetable and ate only rice on my birthday and paid $125 bill. Also chef was not enjoying his job and not interacting with children, he was just cooking with sulking face. Terrible experience!!! I will not go ever again!!! read more

I have been to this location multiple times over the years. The atmosphere is beautiful. The chefs are always amazing. My husband suggested I leave this review because he was disappointed in the service. It was the day after thanksgiving so naturally it was not as packed as it always is.. which is why he didn't understand why soda took 30 + minutes to get to our table. He felt the same about the check. I know this location is popular however sadly the service was disappointing. I think our waitress may have been sick. So I just want to say she did an amazing job and my husband is just picky. Not to mention we did not get our dessert which was never offered. We left because we were tired of the slow service and confusion. read more

The cooks at your table really give off the 9 to 5 vibe. Not really happy to be there. Puts a buzz kill to the atmosphere.

We went the Plano Benihana for my birthday and will never go again. We were rushed the whole time and there was no personal service. The "chef" was barely trained and made personal insults to my husband and myself. He also made a point of asking if anyone was celebrating a special occasion. I said it was my birthday...nothing ever happened to acknowledge my birthday. Why do you ask that if you aren't going to do anything? RUDE! After the meal we realized they shorted us part of the meal. I asked the waitress about it on the way out and she said "so do you want it now"? No apology. We also complained to the manager who seemed unconcerned and blamed the rushed dinner on everybody wanting to eat at the same time. The manager said he would send us a voucher as an apology for the bad service but that never came. This was a very disappointing evening when great memories could have been made but weren't! read more
