    Tonkotsu Bento
    Aimee M.

Partner and I stopped in for bento boxes for lunch and generally had a pleasant time! First off, the atmosphere was very cozy on a cold day, with low lighting and a few trees inside decorated for Christmas. We were served promptly and each got a bento, both around $13-14. Let me tell you, for that price, we got a LOT of food. We easily could've shared. Each came with salad, two gyoza, 4 California rolls, 3 pieces of tempura, some tater tots, and the main course that you chose. Ours came with a LOT of rice and cabbage under our meat. So value for money is no question great here. I'd say everything in the bento was okay. The tonkotsu was almost burnt and the crust had no flavor, but it was alright. The salad dressing was very lemony, but everything was mostly bland or uninteresting. Definitely filling though! Overall, I think we would return. I just wouldn't expect the best food you've ever had!

You know how they say employees can make or break you? Well this is one of those cases. Staff was tired and sluggish. Still giving it a 4 out of 5 because the salmon was really fresh and good. Came by myself and sat at the sushi bar. Do not recommend. Service made me seem like I was a chore. We will leave it at that. Pictures of my food below. Probably a great date location.

This spot is the premier spot for sushi in Carrollton, in my opinion. They have everything top tier, from the ambiance (fake cherry blossoms) cleanliness, amazing service, (you press a button for service) and the portion sizes are HUGE. I split with my husband and got a Holdom roll and a Udon noodle soup with chicken, and the portion sizes were enough for me to have leftovers for dinner last night. Corey had the Las Vegas Roll and the Texas Rangers Roll, and he loved both of them. If you're looking for a quiet, ambiance filled place for sushi with excellent food, head over here!

My favorite sushi place in DFW! I come here for my birthday every year and have taken many friends and family here. The atmosphere is lively and the decorations add to the ambiance. The service is always attentive and friendly. Must orders for the table is the takoyaki! My favorite dish is the mango paradise roll. It is refreshing with a little sweetness of the mango and a perfect combination overall. The other rolls are great, the portion of the rolls are perfect, and this place is worth the trip!

The atmosphere here is amazing and feels like you're being submerged in the culture. I really liked that part. The food I ordered was a bit flavorless and took a lot of doctoring for it to taste decent. Their service depends on a button which I'd a bit different, but it works here because it's a relatively small restaurant. I like how you can see what is being made as well.

Sushi Kadan is our go-to place for sushi! They have great sushi at an amazing price. We have been here many times and our favorite dishes are the Soft Shell Crab for appetizer and the Yakuza Roll. We ordered their sashimi once but found the slices to be too thick. The service is very quick because you have a button that calls the server and they bring out the dishes within 15 mins of ordering. For the ambiance, we love the giant sakura trees in the middle! It's a great place to catch up with friends and for a date night.

Great place! Have been going since its opening. While I've noticed some changes in quality , I still find it worth returning to! 4/5 service, welcoming, sometimes food comes out slow but I understand thenfood industry 4/5 Ambiance, beautiful interior, seating is okay comfort wise 3.5 Food, select few rolls are STARS though (Gold Mountain), others are good but not standouts!

I was supposed to get lunch with a friend at Mike's Chicken. Silly ol me overslept so my friend went to Sushi Kadan in Carrollton. Luckily, I was able to barely make it. I got the burning man specialty roll. Inside of it was shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, and jalapeño. It was topped with assorted seafood, tempura flakes, spicy mayo, sweet mayo, and eel sauce. The rolls here are hugeeeeee. They're basically the size of 2 sushi rolls in 1. I love how they don't hold back on the tempura flakes. My only complaint would be that they actually don't have rice at the bottom of the sushi rolls so they would break apart after my first bite, but they're so big that I wouldn't be able to eat them in 1 bite anyways. I really enjoyed this roll and would for sure come again to try some more

Tried this place in Texas for the first time and the food was mediocre... The inside of this place is what made it the most enjoyable. Having fake cherry blossoms, nice backgrounds/splashes, and cute seating arrangements made the place lovable. I ordered some Takoyaki, two Sapporo's, and had some Beef Yakisoba. Takoyaki was fried to perfection and delicious. The Beef Yakisoba was okay and didn't taste special. Ofcourse the beer was cold and tasty as usual Sapporo is. General takeaways, for the price, it wasn't too bad. However, the taste wasn't outstanding besides one item which was the Takoyaki. On a scale of 1-5, I will give this place a 3/5. Give it a shot for yourself and maybe you'll have a better experience than I did. At least the experience from the servers was attentive and kind.

They have the best sushi prices in town- super reasonable and affordable! Miso soup for less than $2, yes! Bring me a giant bowl, please! Fresh-fantastic- flavorful sushi! Large portions, great service. I wish I would have gotten pictures of everyone's order- everything looked stunning. I would only suggest better seating- we were seated under the tree where the seats wrap around the table- we had a party of 9 and it was a little hard to talk to each other and we had to move in and out for each other. Overall, delicious and divine dining experience! Would love to visit again very soon!

This place is amazing. Very high quality sushi and the sushi chef makes the most amazing specials! I am always so impressed by how fresh and delicious the food is. Their sashimi and rolls are incredible. The ambiance is incredible, they have lit trees all around the restaurant. Very romantic, great lighting for a first date and they have happy hour everyday from 5-7 I think which is awesome on weekends.

Seaweed salad. Theirs is perfect... not too sweet.

So good!! The mild house sauce is delicious and not spicy enough to leave a tingle in your mouth,…read morebut full of flavor. The shrimp and snow crab legs were our favorites. The lobster tail was a bit tough and overcooked, which is a waste. Mussels were good too. Garlic noodles were not our favorite. Corn and potatoes are good, but they're a bit stingy about it only giving you one of each. When your seafood boil is $70+, you should get more than one of each. The flavors linger in your mouth for a bit. It lingered for almost 2 days for me, but would definitely return!

Unfortunately, the service was questionable. Our server had difficulty communicating in English, which led to a costly misunderstanding. When we ordered crab, she never asked what type of crab we wanted and instead assumed king crab, which is significantly more expensive than other options. As a result, our bill was much higher than expected. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill without it being mentioned to us beforehand. While restaurants may choose to add gratuity in certain situations, customers should be clearly informed so there are no surprises. My advice: enjoy the food, but be very specific when ordering. Confirm exactly what type of crab you're getting, verify the pricing, and check your bill carefully. Also remember that gratuity should be clearly communicated and not assumed. Better communication would have made this a much better overall experience.I'd rate it 2.5 out of 5 stars. Great food, but the service and communication issues took away from the experience.

A lady from behind the counter finally noticed us and directed us to sit at a certain table. Menu is on the table so she came by to take out order. There's not very many pictures to reference the size. The chef's choice sashimi platter range from $39.99 to $119.99. I had to pull up Yelp photos and with the help of the server, we ordered the medium platter for $59.99. As we waited, we were given a plate containing edamame and what appears to be fried pieces of fish skin. It was unexpected and tasty. The sashimi platter was fresh and contained a nice variety of fish and other seafood. I was surprised to see octopus and clams. It was served on a bed of radish, which I love, with sliced jalapeños and garlic on the side. There's no question the seafood is fresh here. They have tanks in the front containing lobsters in the front. The tanks are clean and there's no funky odors. This place is very traditional. Service was adequate. They have a self serve station where you can get your own water from a water cooler and additional silverware, sauce cups, and napkins. Took my niece here for a birthday dinner of her choice. It's right by Paris Baguette and she's always been intrigued by it. She thought it was just ok. Overall, I think it's a nice place to get fresh seafood but it's not a place I see myself coming back to.
