It was absolutely delicious and the staff was attentive but not overwhelming. I had the lunch set with cucumber salad as my app, miso soup, and added on Hotate uni nigiri. DELICIOUS! It's dim and quiet inside (at least when I went) so would be a good date night experience. I will say that if you sit at the bar because it's low top, don't expect the experience of them preparing your sushi. I went to the Carrollton location for the $60 omakase special (on Tuesday). It's a good deal and people know it so it gets packed. The quality of the nigiri is the same as the full price omakase, you just get less pieces. You can always order a la carte afterwards, I did. I know people seem to think that it's expensive here but honestly you get an incredible Omakase experience. Pro tip 1: If you're here on a date and want the omakase experience, sit at the bar! That's the best way to enjoy the l omakase experience to the fullest. Pro Tip 2: Call if you have a party bigger than 6. Sometimes the app to reserve a table is glitchy and you got charged twice to reserve a spot. The Miyabi ($75) offers 13 wonderful assortment between sashimi, nigiri, and side dishes/soups. If you get the Nori it is a lot higher but with 14 pieces which includes this unique sweet shrimp topped with Uni and subtly smoked salmon roe. (Personally I'm fine with settling for the Miyabi and forgoing the shrimp.) The miso soup is incredible. I think authentic aged bonito is used to get an incredible clear yet rich broth. I could fill up on the miso soup alone. The Chawanmushi (Japanese Steamed Egg Custard) is absolutely mind blowing. It's so silky, savory and perfect in this cold weather. The ice cream itself is seasonal so don't expect it to stay the same when you come back. I was bummed out because their jasmine ice cream and lychee ice cream was such a wonderful compliment after such an indulgent meal. The matcha crepe is very good because they use higher quality matcha. A forewarning, if you're weak to caffeine, this will keep you up! I highly recommend to make a reservation as we made one for 7:45pm and we weren't seated until 8 since it was busy. The nigiri pieces you can order per person is 20, no matter what type of nigiri you're ordering. They also have sashimi plates you can order that's separate. I do think the nigiri pieces are on the smaller side, and the salmon is thinly cut. The rice was also a bit hard, but maybe due to the demands with the promotion they had to rush. I think it's understandable for pieces to be on the smaller side as it's really cheap. I do still recommend the place to try and will be back to try the omakase! read more

This review is specifically for Yujo Nori's salmon night, as no other menu items were ordered during the visit. I ordered the salmon set, which included a variety of salmon nigiri, salmon handrolls, and a salmon sashimi dish. I enjoyed the nigiri options and the ones I tried were the salmon, fatty salmon, and Aburi salmon. The fatty salmon and Aburi were quite similar in flavor, with the main difference being the sauce on the Aburi. The quality of the fish was good overall, though the rice wasn't my favorite and the portion size for each piece was on the smaller side. I didn't enjoy the sashimi and the option we were given was the salmon truffle ponzu. The texture of the salmon was off--it had a noticeable bite and chew that didn't sit right with me. As for the handrolls, they were just average. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived at the table, the nori had already lost its crispness. That said, if you're a salmon lover, I'd still recommend checking out Yujo Nori on their salmon night. For the variety and overall value, it's worth trying at least once. read more

I went to Yujo to try their Tuesday $60 omakase special. I believe there were 12-13 dishes total. I disliked 2-3 of them - I don't eat egg so I automatically couldn't eat one of the dishes and some nigiri had a strong wasabi flavor. Even after 12-13 courses, I was not full. It was a cool experience, but for the price, I would want it to be more filling. One of the servings was dessert so that takes away from getting to try a wide variety of sushi. If I were to come back, I would want to try their a la carte menu. read more
