The rice is nicely seasoned with vinegar and it just tastes delicious! I loved the eel nigiri because it was savory and sweet, as well as the spicy hotate (raw spicy scallop) because it was creamy and also fresh The calamari we had was the best calamari I've ever had! It had tempura batter, and you'd expect the squid to be chewy but it was actually very soft and delicious! Baked mussels were also a 10/10 although a bit cold. Very good though!! Spider roll was okay, it was crunchy and good but a little fishy since it's soft shelled crab. The dai dai roll was quite refreshing and good! The lemon adds some tart to it but there were quite a few pieces (8 pcs) so I don't recommend ordering if you are eating by yourself. Crazy nachos were good! Tuna was fresh but this was a bit too spicy for my liking (diablo sauce). Good with eel sauce though! The service was okay, the waitresses and servers were mostly nice but missed some of our orders. I took my family here for my birthday and all I can say is wow. This place absolutely lived up to the hype. First off, the ambiance was awesome. We got there right when they opened, grabbed seats at the bar, and immediately loved the vibe. One of the first things I noticed was there were at least six sushi chefs behind the counter. If you've ever been to an AYCE sushi restaurant, you know why that's a big deal. More sushi chefs usually means you're not sitting around forever waiting for your next round, and that was definitely the case here. From the moment we walked in, Andrew made us feel welcome. I think he may have been the floor manager, but whatever his role was, his hospitality was outstanding. Even with a graduation party going on and the restaurant being incredibly busy, he checked on us throughout the meal and made us feel like we were the only table there. Then he surprised us with something really special. He brought over four pieces of premium bluefin tuna with fresh real wasabi and took the time to explain where the tuna came from and what made it unique. That kind of personal touch takes an already great experience and makes it memorable. Now for the food. The fish to rice ratio was exactly what you want. The quality of the fish was outstanding and everything tasted incredibly fresh. One of my favorite bites of the night was the Hotate scallop nigiri. You almost never see that at an AYCE sushi place, and it was fantastic. The salmon was phenomenal too. Honestly, everything we ordered was excellent. Our favorite appetizer had to be the mussels. We ended up ordering them more than once because they were that good. Considering how packed the restaurant was, I was seriously impressed with how quickly everything came out. The service never skipped a beat. Andrew mentioned they recently changed owners earlier this year. I never had the chance to visit under the previous ownership, but if this is what the new ownership is doing, they are absolutely knocking it out of the park. If you're looking for great all you can eat sushi, put Sushi Kushi on your list. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top tier. Andrew, thank you for making our first visit so memorable. I have a love-hate relationship with anything AYCE, but especially sushi. Let's all be real. AYCE Korean BBQ, hot pot, sushi or anything meat heavy always has me wondering about the quality. You can't have wild caught seafood or regenerative beef wagyu A5 for everything on the menu at the price of $40 a person. You just can't, I don't care what people say. So I think if you go into the meal knowing that and not expecting your meat/fish to have been an MTI graduate and pampered since birth, you'll be okay, but I suspect most people just want something that doesn't taste spoiled and a lot of it. That was a long way of saying, I was hesitant to pull the trigger on this place because I am someone who is usually more quality over quantity, but I heard enough about this place to try it. First the cons: I noticed all of the things I generally don't care for at any AYCE sushi place. The ginger/wasabi was the low-quality kind you find everywhere, the cocktails I ordered were terrible (just stick with beer) and some of the pieces we ordered were not consistent. But I was expecting that going in and so was prepared. Pros: the food was all pretty decent. The only times I really eat sushi rolls is when I'm at a place like this, so we ordered one to get our mayo intake for the month and the rest were sashimi or nigiri pieces. Pepper in some hot appetizers and we left feeling extremely full and satisfied. One thing that I really did love was the presentation. It makes it feel a lot fancier when the food comes out on a wooden boat serving platter than on little plates so brownie points for that. I will say that we ordered pretty much the same thing from round one and two, but the first round was definitely had more of the higher quality pieces (fattier pieces, smoked this and that, etc.) but I get it. Can't serve all of the premo stuff each time. We will definitely be back. And also, a shout out to the amazing staff. But for the carrollton area i think its the best option for ayce. I think our favorite pieces were the spicy scallop nigiri, seared salmon, and the garlic tuna. The menu with some images provided is different than the actual order sheet. Many , and I mean MANY items were not INCLUDED. We asked about uni, ankimo, fatty tuna, yellowtail collar, and sweet shrimp. Well, we were told NONE of these were available OR requires additional fee... they didn't bother to mention that from the menu nor make correction. We were told they can offer tuna toro on the house, except 10 minutes later we were told it wouldn't come in until later that day(we arrived at 5pm). I have not heard of deliveries at night especially for fish but oh well... The fish here has very little taste, I have never tasted scallops without any sweetness to it, until now. They did sear the scallops a little bit which was a nice touch, but flavorless scallop is just flavorless. Tasted like rubber. The soft shell crab was not only very oily and super tiny, but taste is also bad. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. If you come earlier on in the evening, you don't really need to wait at all, we were able to be seated pretty immediately! The menu is pretty extensive, but the ayce is pretty worth it because you can just try everything! The servers are pretty attentive in coming when you need them and they bring out your new order pretty quickly. I love that they have a button for you to just call your server over because then they're only checking in on you when you actually need them. This is the best AYCE sushi place I've been to. I heard the ownership changed in the last few months, and the food and service were both amazing. Unlike other places that set insane limits or try to fill you up on rice, this place is the real deal: you can order plenty of sashimi per round (I think it was 5 per person for each type of fish), and the quality is great. This is pretty cool to have that sense of privacy, there's a TV available, and they use those lights to signal your waiter whenever you need something.
