I think the business can do better. I came to order around 30 tacos, i added some more when i was inside. Normally we order monthly. First, we try to pay over the phone. They don't take it, because they want to come in and pay. I feel like they make it so hard for customers to pay. Not sure if the manager know. Then after that hurdle, i was getting more tacos because we miss counted for the people in our party - so we added more. & i ask to get extra sauce. They charge 1.5 dollars, this is another bad business decision. People eat inside often waste tons of sauce but don't get charge extra. To go people who do big order monthly, get charge. But that ok. I was a little shock, but business had to run so i understand. So i like to pay. But now they don't take credit card that less than certain amount. I'm wife and a friend went to Doña Lencha last Thursday. The tacos were great, and the grilled steak that my wife ordered was chopped, and it was not grilled it was cooked on a skillet with a lot of oil. My wife said she did not want it like that and asked to change it. Waitress put on an attitude say that's how she ordered it. We said not she wanted grilled, not cooked in a skillet. She said that the kitchen said that's how it's made. I said just bring out a cooked steak, and that's it She returned with a new service with a full steak cooked on a skillet. My wife ate it when we were leaving. we asked for the check, and they tried to charge us for both steaks. And she would not back down saying we ordered them. We have to bay them. Our friend went to the cashier to tell discuss this. "Manager" came out to argue with her. By chance, a policeman was having lunch there and was trying to pay. They told him that she was refusing to pay. My friend had her credit card in her hand and explained to the officer the situation. He said that if someone returns food because it not what they ordered, they don't have to pay for it. And because of this, they took it off the bill. I have gone to Doña Lencha for over twenty years. I have recommended it to all my friends. That was the last time I would ever go there or recommend it to anyone. read more

This is as Mexican as you can get. It's very good. Salsa's are a little difference but may be due to its authenticity. Chilaquiles Mexicanas (not migas) are good with the green sauce. They also have red and mole. Coffee is just right. Not weak or strong. Beams taste like home made and not from a can. I highly recommend this place. Oh, Heavily Mother of God-- if there is such a thing as heaven on earth, you can find it in the torta sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil at Dona Lencha. I like to call it my 'Food of the Angels Sandwich'. We started off with orders of chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole. Even the chips were made fresh! Yes, hand cut flour tortillas which are deep fried into chips-- the fresh taste means they're using fresh frying oil, I think. The guacamole came in a small, deep bowl, yet sufficient for three men-- and you can tell it's made in house, daily. It's important to understand that a torta is a type of bread that's a cross between a thick tortilla and a chibatta bun. Torta sandwiches are made with the torta bread. There are about ten different tortas on the menu, and fries are included. I don't know if I'll ever be able to try anything different on the menu, other than the eight meat torta-- it was so heavenly delicious. I'm craving the delectable blend of eight meats right now. At first bite, I noticed the velvety taste of avocado, then the al dente texture of barbecued beef, then the smoky chorizo. Each bite gives you a different taste blend and mouth-feel from the eight meats, four cheeses, tomato, and lettuce. This is a great place to eat. The food is good and the have just about every kind of Mexican food you want. Their menu has a lot of choices. A LOT! Seat yourself and salsa bar is open to you. BYOB, that's right Bring Your Own Beer and they will put it on ice for you. Tacos are $1.25 and the all the other food is just as reasonably priced. If you ever want to add rice and beans or any side item they are an extra cost around $1 or $2. THE AGUAS FRESCAS ARE AMAZING!!! I HAD THE COCONUT AND THE MELON!!! The problems... I only have 2 complaints... The tripas were fried way too long..... and i ordered the pastor tacos and i did not like them. I don't know if the meat was bad or if they used a seasoning i didn't like, either way they would not take it off my bill or offer another choice. The tortas are so good here. I went in last week in the morning and ordered an egg and chorizo torta. A torta is a Mexican sandwich that usually has your choice of meat, lettuce, tomato, mayo, queso fresco, on a delicious toasted Mexican bun. If you've never tried one, Dona Lencha is the place to do it. Their tortas come with a side of fries. I also have their lemonade which is freshly squeezed and perfectly sweetened. The service is always great. Even though the decorations are a tad tacky, it still has a homey feel to the place. It's kind of like you walk in and know everything is like homemade and authentic. See my first review for my first visit :) ...On this occasion, I took my mom and sister with me to dine on the vast array of tacos Dona Lencha offers. Upon arriving, we decided to dine-in. We were greeted by our server, Nancy. She was a breath of fresh air as she welcomed us to her restaurant and lead us to our booth. She is so cute, personable and delightful in general!! Nancy enhanced our visit to Dona Lencha with her knowledge of the menu and of authentic Mexican fare. She made many great suggestions... especially the cream filled churros... OMG GRRRRREAT... and for only $1. That is a deal, my friends!!! My family and me visited the Story Rd. location. It was real hot inside, which could have been bypassed if the waitress's attitude or the food would have been better. We ordered our food, and it was not at all what we were expecting. It wasn't well served, it wasn't fresh and the food was super greasy! We walked out of there unsatisfied, disgusted and still hungry, regretting we ever decided to go to this place. And come to think of it, it is a little on the expensive side for the little amount of food they served on our plates. I wish I could remember the name of the waitress, but DAMN - she was a total idiot. She got our order wrong, our drinks wrong. She wouldn't come around to refill our drinks, nor bring more tortillas. I'm a big fan of Dona Lencha so I decided to try this location. A little more festive-looking and ranch-style than the Belt Line location. The AC wasn't working too well so it was hot in there! I liked their salsa bar. The green salsa was especially good. It was Friday so we had to have the beef fajita special ($5). Excellent, even though the smoke was crazy. I'd also like to remark that this is some of the least greasy Mexican food around. I could knock a star off for the faulty AC, but I won't --their fajitas are that good!
