Looking for good food! The food here is so yummy. The Birrias tacos are enough for 2 people. Lots…read moreof lime, cilantro & onion and a side of consumme & charro beans. The flavor is spot on - the green & red sauce add a good amount of spice to offset the richness of the meat. We also had the street corn which is creamy & delicious. We had a 1/2 lb of Chicherones - they were high quality pork belly - crispy on the edges & fatty in the middle. I prefer the cracklins, but these were delicious. We had 1 other taco entree, but the name escapes me now. I was assured it was also delicious. I definitely recommend this place. Don't think you'll get away cheap from this place because you won't... but I must say it was worth every penny!! The staff is very friendly too. We will definitely go back.

I was actually in the mood for breakfast burrito and i also order a bunch of other items to try them. Everything was tasty and delicious. The breakfast was decently sized. The taco meat were great, and the churros were so delicious. What i like about this place is the price... felt like its extremely affordable for what you get. Guess this place makes money off the volumes. what's surprising is that, they have taco tuesdays. only 99 cents, which is insane with inflation. i legit thought all tacos places got rid of 99 cent tacos. Good to know they still have it around. The workers are very nice and friendly. They also have live music, at least when i went.

I had the shrimp salad and pozole, and Colin had the chicken brasa tacos. All of it was delectable. We asked for a spicier salsa, and our amazing waiter Daniel brought us this orange salsa that was probably habanero and SO GOOD. I had the Machete, which was insanely refreshing and came with frozen watermelon cubes instead of ice Colin looooved his Out of Office. Atmosphere 10/10. Food 10/10. Service 11/10. We will absolutely be back--and asking for Daniel!

There are so many Mexican\Tex Mex restaurants in North Texas and Mexican Sugar continues to impress. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - I love the atmosphere at Mexican Sugar. The restaurant itself reminds me of Mexico inside and out, and the different types of seating (communal, patio, traditional, cool) will give you plenty of options. But in the evening, when Happy Hour begins Mexican Sugar will fill up with tons of patrons and good energy. 1 Star. Service - The service has always been good on my multiple visits. This is a Mexican restaurant, and the staff know the menu very well. If you're not sure how something is pronounced or tastes, just ask! 1 Star. Food - There's brunch on the weekends and traditional Mexican dishes (tacos, enchiladas). On my visit on a holiday, I went with brunch and the Barbacoa Chilaquiles. This is a traditional Mexican breakfast where tender barbacoa is layered on tortilla chips along with a sunny side up egg. The result is a fantastic combination of flavors, texture, and heat. Yes, it's a slow burn, and those of you who like spice will love it. I had to finish it off with a Mexican Flan as a perfect way to cool my mouth. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Honestly, I don't know why Mexican Sugar is not in my rotation of places in Irving. It hits every mark and I've never been disappointed. Yes. I'll be back. 1 Star.

When I was on my birria kick I would drive from Arlington all the way here because no other place came close. The meat is full of flavor and spice and the conzume they bring out with it is just as good. Its full of spice and flavor and I straight up drink that by itself, i dip my tortillas with it. I usually put salt and lemon on the tortillas and then roll them up and dip em in the conzume. In the past, I had the ramen, the platillo, the tacos, and I think the quesabirria, they are all delicious but my favorite is the quesabirria and the tacos, followed by the ramen. The menu is small but just stick with the tacos or buy the meat by the pound, and you are good to go. The rice and beans are average but still good; the salsas they have on are amazingly delicious. The light green one is my favorite because is not too spicy but spicy enough to give me that kick am looking for in my food. I drown my food in that salsa sometimes and then dip in conzume.
