Local authentic Mexican restaurant in Las Colinas. Had the 3 flour street tacos: carnitas, asada, and pastor. The carnitas was the best of the three though I was hoping it was the pastor. Have I found my new favorite taco place? Maybe. Do I feel guilty about cheating on Familia (another great spot just a couple doors down in the same strip mall)? Absolutely. We came here for breakfast right after my colonoscopy, so you KNOW I was HANGRY. I ordered two tacos, a pastor and the sleeper hit of the bean and cheese taco. That bean and cheese is now going on my regular rotation - It was almost like a mini quesadilla, all grilled and yummy! The horchata was divine and just the right amount of sweet and creamy. First time at this place. You order food at the counter, pay and you get your food at the table. Service was great and fast. I think the chips were complimentary, We ordered two of each tacos, chicken, beef and pork. I really enjoyed beef and pork, but chicken was dry. What a joke of a place this is. I understand that breakfast is over at 11am. And lunch starts. I get that.. so when ordering lunch and you ask to have an egg on top, they simply said NO eggs is served of any kind after 11am. The lady with glasses said even after 11:01, made it very clear a minute later no egg is served with any plate.. this is complete stupid approach. I understand that breakfast is over but if you are ordering some fajitas, and I want 2 fried eggs on top, what is the freaking deal. Well to them, NO EGGS are served with anything eggs related. We recently stopped by after visiting this place 5 years ago. They have moved into a bigger space. They still have delicious Mexican food. This not a fancy place but it is a great bargain for the flavor. We stopped by lunch and had Street Tacos and Sour Cream Enchiladas. We like the nicer places like Mexican Sugar and Lupe's Tortilla Factory but this is a great place to go to get quick Mexican food. The atmosphere is more of a whole in the wall, the service was prompt, and the food was delicious. We will definitely come again. Check this place out if you in the neighborhood. read more

I have never tried lunch at this place. Needed a quick option close to work! Stopped by and ordered Monterey Chicken with Corn Tortilla's They served complimentary chips and salsa. Entree was served in next 5 months. Chips were bit salty but salsa was good! Chicken was cooked to perfection, Red salsa was amazing. Has very good heat, I added to the tomatillo salsa that came along with chips and that took the test level. Corn tortilla were thin and did not hold well, but tasted good! Decent enough street tacos. You'd think since they charge 3.75% extra for using a credit card as well as request the obligatory tip even on carry out, throwing a few chips in with the guac and queso would be a nice touch? Don't they give chips and salsa (complimentary?) if you dine in? "Chips" weren't even listed as an option on the menu. Tacomex was very good. I had 5 tacos 3 soft shell and 2 flour tacos. All carne asada. Very well seasoned and all tacos were great. Came with cilantro and onion. I personally liked the flour better but I know traditionally know flour is best. I sat down around noon and it was quite a few people in there. They give you chips and salsa if you dine in. This place has expanded in size and accommodates a lot more tables. The colors on the walls and tables gives a nice Mexican flare. The people are pleasant here and answer any questions you may have about the menu. We ordered breakfast tacos and a burrito to go. They put plenty of good salsas in the bag with our order. We all had the chorizo and eggs in our tacos and burrito. They were delicious! We'll be back soon to try some more of their other foods on the menu!! read more

This is one of the best taco places in Irving. The staff is always really nice and friendly. Their food is fresh and authentic Tex Mex. I have tried everything from tacos to enchiladas to flans. Everything is great! My favorite has to be their street tacos, which come with onions and cilantro. Also, a word to the wise: Be mindful of their salsas because they are spicy! If you want to be the office hero, grab a bag of breakfast burritos from TacoMex! Tip: Everything is made to order so call ahead to place your order to avoid the long lines in the morning. The office favorites are bacon & egg, chorizo & egg, sausage & egg and potato & egg. They also offer beans & eggs, ham & egg, beans & cheese and a la Mexican (tomato, onion, jalapeño & egg). The bacon is thick and has a little bit of crisp while the sausage is tender and flavorful. The potato are fried crispy and the eggs are scrambled soft to hold everything together. The offer two salsas: roja (red) which is mild and verde (green) which is hot. Do you self a favor and ask for extra green salsa. The breakfast tacos are reasonably priced for the amount of filling they provide. One taco is perfect for a quick breakfast and two is good if you want to feel full. The location is fairly small and easily missed, but there is a decent amount of tables for dine-in. Having left Texas two years ago and moved to Florida, any time I am back I am on the hunt for great breakfast tacos. A work trip landed me in the Las Colinas area and a quick search on Yelp landed me at Tacomex...as such I have found myself frequenting Tacomex every subsequent trip I've made back to Las Colinas Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Tacomex has an expansive menu of texmex offerings to feed your craving any time of day. For the purpose of this review (and due to the fact I've only ever ordered breakfast tacos/burritos) we will only be discussing their breakfast options. My go-to's are potato/egg/cheese or bean & cheese tacos. I am normally a Huevos a la Mexicana fan but theirs is loaded with cilantro which I am NOT a fan of in the least, which I do not hold against them. They also offer breakfast burritos which are quite sizable and filling. I usually love to add avocado to my tacos/burritos but on several occasions I've requested this and they've been out of them and unable to add it to my order. No matter what you do get their creamy green salsa and dunk those tacos and burritos into their spicy creamy wonderful salsa, it's the perfect pairing to kick your morning off on the right foot. Thanks Yelp for helping me find my go-to call ahead and pick up breakfast place when work sends me back to the DFW area. This is for two visits, about three months apart. I went again tonight and the same, unfriendly/un-customer oriented girl was working. Food was great; however the chick working the counter was the unfriendliest person I have ever been greeted by. Being a new customer I did not know if I order or seat myself so I was going to ask and before I could get it out, she says, loudly, "Door Dash"? I said no dine in. I ask if I seat myself or order and she barked, "order here". I asked if I could have the salsa from the fridge for my chips and she said no she would bring them later with food. ???? She was the polar opposite of good customer service. She then proceeded to carry on a conversation for the duration of my stay through her Bluetooth earpieces with a friend that was less than private. Anyone in the dining room could hear. The ground beef on my tacos tonight was not fresh and the taquitos were not freshly cooked either. Will not be returning here. read more

Best breakfast tacos anywhere, in my opinion. They are really generous wtih the eggs and such, so the tacos are just bursting with yummy things! I usually get one potato and egg and one bacon and egg, with a side of shredded cheese that I use to put a little cheese on each taco. Today I felt like some lunch, so I got their flautas plate with a grapefruit soda, and really enjoyed it! Not the best ever for their lunch/dinner items, but always a solid bet. Customer service is always so-so for me. I think maybe I just rub some of the ladies that work there the wrong way, although I always smile, say please/thank you, and try to be polite and friendly. Sometimes they just sort of scowl at me, though...not sure why they do that, but I still keep coming back for breakfast, so it must not bother me too much! read more
