Service was really good. The cook was friendly fast and efficient. They opened at 7 and were ready to go at 7 so that was awesome. The price is pretty good but that maybe because the actual burrito is very average. I thought it was going to be good but when they took all the fresh ingredients and cooked them together with the egg substitute :( it just made this like mushy combination of everything. I went during my lunch and got the burrito with steak.. they have plenty of toppings for you to add and everything looked fresh..it was plenty of space in there and the service was good. Got the spicy salsa and it was most def spicy. I have a high spice tolerance as well. Very clean in there and for 7 dollars you can get a small burrito..was still a good size.. only thing is that it wasn't wrapped like a burrito, it was a huge taco. Nonetheless. Good! This place is abysmal from both the atmosphere to the food. I'm not even sure where to start. First off, the place looks like it's been abandoned or on the verge of bankruptcy. It seemed as if a portion of the lights were shut off inside and the place just felt dingy and run down. There's a small taco bar where you order your food and that's where I spotted the chicken chunks sitting in water, that looked pale, unseasoned and like it'd give you an instant trip to the bathroom. I opted for the beef for my 2 tacos, as that's the only meat I could recognize. There might have been two other meat choices but I couldn't even see them in their bin because they were covered in brown water which I couldn't see through. I didn't even want to bother asking the guy what it was and I get the feeling he wouldn't tell me anyways. After you order either a burrito or a taco, there are bowls of raw onions, cilantro, and a few other basic accoutrements in the corner of an otherwise empty, giant long glass fridge which was covered in condensation because it was incredibly humid inside, akin to a Florida summer. Chips and salsa came with it and even the chips looked unappetizing, like they were old and stale. The salsa was scooped by the lady who rang me up and it was piping hot....what kind of salsa is boiling hot?? Disgusting. The tacos tasted exactly how the vibe of this place looked. My friend ordered a burrito without cheese and it was drowned and smothered in gooey white cheese which pooled onto the plate. This must've been the money shot. Will never be back here and cannot recommend this place to any other human, out of moral obligation. read more

It's been awhile since I been here and the set up was a bit different. I got the three taco plate right under $10 not including tax. They should make it a combo with drink in my opinion. I got two carnesada and one brisket with added cucumber and squash (extra charge) topped off with hot salsa. Just be careful because the spice does have a kick. Burrito Jimmy, what happened?! My old office was a short distance away and it was quite good. Standards seem to have dropped drastically. I ordered a small burrito with a side of chips and salsa and a drink. I'm not going to dink them any points for sending me a Coke instead of the orange juice I asked for. Restaurants may run short of drinks stocks once in a while and it doesn't make sense to keep updating their offerings. What I cannot forgive is the quality of their namesake, the burrito. Starting off with the tortilla itself (I asked for wheat), it was soft and bordering on soggy. It wouldn't have been had it at least hit the grill for a few more minutes and allowed to create a nice crisp middle. I asked for lime cilantro rice, black beans, cilantro, jalapeno and chicken for the filling. Very skimpy on the chicken, rice was overdone (bordering on mushy), the jalapenos didn't add any heat at all and the filling was overall bland, lacking any salt. The tortilla was breaking apart and it was impossible to hold the filling in, it just...disintegrated in my hands. I would've gone for the minimum score hadn't their salsas (both red and green) come to the rescue. I love Burrito Jimmy. One of my favorite spots. The food is similar to Chipotle, but the ingredients taste fresher. I'll sometimes eat here 3-4 times in a week. It doesn't look like much when you walk in. The current location used to be a salad restaurant so it looks kind of weird, but the food is good. Customer service is usually really good. There only been once or twice that I've walked in and both of the employees were in the back and I had to wait until someone realized there was a customer. I ordered through a food delivery company, not sure if that made any difference. The vegetables were not overcooked and were fresh! Chips and queso - the cheese was very watery as someone has commented before. The steak was like ground beef and had a weird taste. The chicken was diced in really really small cubes and tasted like spam, it was picked out and fed to the dogs, who seemed to like it. As a Burrito Jimmy fan I am very disappointed with the quality of food and service in 2019. I went on vacation for the last 3 weeks of December 2018 and upon my return on 1/8/19 I stopped at Burrito Jimmy for a breakfast burrito. I was greeted by unfamiliar faces, very slow service and the inability to multitask. I ordered and retreived my meal which was not at all what I was accustomed to, but i figured they were attempting to work out the kinks and I would try them again another time. However, today 1/30/19, I decided to try them again. And once again I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a burrito with steak, pinto beans, white rice pico de gallo, jalapenos and cilantro. I asked for the Pico to be sauteed several times, unfortunately the young lady did not understand my request which required additional help from other staff members. After getting my order correct I retrieve my order and I left. After returninh to work I was unable to enjoy my meal. Sadly, the pinto beans are half cooked the steak is something I've never tasted before. I'm not even sure if it's real meat and the rice is undercooked. This was $8 of money spent on a lunch that cannot be eaten and time spent that I cannot get back. Well the sad truth is in 2019 Burrito Jimmy has lost a faithful customer. read more

Two burrito sizes, and combos with chips and a drink. Tables are set up mostly for single eaters or two, with a handful of tables to seat four. I'd place this in the category of "mexican-inspired" fast food. Not as nice as Chiptole or Freebird, and about on par with Qdoba. One of my favorite styles of their burrito is made with egg, mixed cheese, pico, guacamole, and smothered with their green salsa and a small touch of caso. It makes my toes curl with every bite. It's one of the best ways to start your day! I love that you can get a breakfast burrito all day long if you want. I also like that someone takes the time to hang the daily newspaper from two wires so the folks in line can catch a glimpse of the daily news if you have to wait. Service has always been great here, very attentive, and always very clean when I have been there. It is not a large place and if you go for lunch, try to get there before 11am for lunch. I would eat here again. It's a Chipotle-like restaurant, but offers a lot more toppings and I think it's a little cheaper. The thing that sets this place apart from Chipotle to me is that they off white meat chicken. Chipotle gives you both dark and white meat which I don't really like. They also can smother your burrito/bowl/salad in whatever sauce you want. I mean like totally cover it in goodness. New burrito place opened up by work and we had to check it out. The menu doesn't explain a lot so the first guy in line has to explain everything several times. There are lot of different flavored tortillas to choose from. They had rice, beans and then all the other toppings. Their menu is along the lines of Chipotle. Burrito, Bowl, Tacos... Well... I came in at around 9:30am. Prior to me coming into this location I have never been inside of any other Burrito Jimmy. Sight: As you walk in I noticed the pictures hung along the side of the walls, kinda makes you feel like your in New York with all the Statue of Liberty and down town New York photos. You line up against the left wall to order your food, I see a Grill, a Tortilla Steamer, all the fresh veggies and on the left they had a food warmer... you know, the metal trays with the water underneath to keep the food hot. well, that's where they keep the meats. I'm NOT a fan of that. I believe in cooking the food as its ordered, not scooping it from the metal tray as its ordered. The food also appeared to be dry, perhaps over cooked or maybe its been inside of the pans for too long...either way not a fan, its pretty much fast food. Smell: I'm not gonna lie, when I walked into the establishment it smelled great! I could smell the flower tortillas, the brisket, and the morning breakfast ingredients. Touch: I ordered a regular burrito with brisket which looked promising! They also put rice, beans, cheese etc... you know all the regular stuff for a lunch burrito. They ended up steaming the burrito instead of placing it on the grill so of course when I grabbed the burrito it was soggy...sorry but burritos should not be soggy. Taste: I give the taste a 3 out of 5 stars. I choose the brisket meat as opposed to the steak meat because the steak meat appeared to be very dry...no bueno. The brisket meat was nice and tender, could use more seasoning, sort of bland... on the other hand they had a great salsa verde, nice and spicy just how I like it. The rice sucked, no flavor. This is a nice change-up to your normal burrito places you go to. They don't have a dizzily number of combinations like Freebirds but far more options than Chipotle's. So I might have been sullied by the amazing burritos at El Taco H, because I think prior to eating those glorious burritos I might have been a bigger fan of Burrito Jimmy's. I think they are doing things better than Chipotle or Freebirds in terms of choices. You can choose from several types of tortillas, they have a couple of different veggie options, and you can get things other than burritos like tacos and quesadillas. I loaded my burrito up - I chose a jalapeno tortilla, got every kind of veggie, pico de gallo and two kinds of salsa. Even with all of that happening, it still tasted kind of bland. The rice was definitely lacking flavor and even the veggies seemed almost like they had been steamed... nothing had been seasoned or given any additional flavor. The rice was the biggest sin, though. It was the ingredient they added the most of so I had several bites of nothing but really bland white rice. And the "spicy" salsa wasn't adding any kind of heat. I noticed after ordering that they have a small option for the burrito, so for the price that might be worth picking up for lunch. Pretty much typical freebirds/ chipotle style food but I prefer the carnitas and brisket here than either of the other two. They also do the bowl style a lot better than chipotle with a better quality black or pinto beans. The freshly diced jalapinos and cilantro add a nice touch and the tomatillo salsa is great! They have a stone smoker in the back where they smoke their carnita's and brisket, definitely take advantage of this top notch quality meat. As for breakfast tacos the chorizo is my favorite. They make a large breakfast taco, so one really is enough. read more

Burrito Jimmy's is pretty darn good. My first time there was about 2 weeks ago on lunch and again on yesterday. I must say its pretty hard to find a better burrito for the price. For $ 6.25 you get a burrito with your choice of tortilla or a burrito bowl. They pack your burrito FULL of all of your favorite toppings. I was actually surprised with the amount of chicken they put on my burrito. Its not a very busy place and normally no more than 2-3 customers at a time. I think with better advertisement they would get alot more business. When you pull up its really hard to tell if they are even open. Love this place! I used to be real big into chipotle then freebirds but this place surpasses both. I think the main trick as to why their burritos are much softer and easier to chew is because they steam the tortilla with the meat, rice, beans, and cheese, unlike at freebirds or chipotle where they only steam heat the tortilla. When adding guacamole or sour cream they always add generous amounts and don't irritate you with the comment "that will cost extra" because I already know it will cost extra! There are options to get your burrito smothered in a few different sauces. My favorite is the queso sauce. Service isn't over the top friendly but just right. They politely allow you order and let you eat in peace. Only knock I give it is that there are not more locations. Gotta drive 15 min to go eat on my days off. Definitely my favorite commercial burrito joint in dallas. read more
