Beautiful restaurant however food and service unfortunately not so great. I went here with my family and it was only us at the restaurant and still took a bit for our food to arrive. The food was also is not great as far as quality and texture. I believe I had gotten the shrimp tacos and the flavor was not amazing.

Cielito Mexican Flavors is a Mexican (not Tex Mex) restaurant that serves true Mexican dishes in the heart of Irving Las Colinas. This restaurant is a great place to visit if you're interested in having modern Mexican cuisine with a fantastic atmosphere and service. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - You'll find Cielito tucked into a corner in Irving-Las Colinas. This clean, beautiful restaurant features a full bar, private dining rooms, and plenty of tables. The best features are the floor to ceiling windows which allow plenty of natural light in while also letting you people watch. The restaurant was mostly full on my Wednesday evening visit and had plenty of energy. 1 Star. Service - Our server was very nice. She was attentive, checked in multiple times, and always kept our drinks full. I didn't ask about the menu, so I can't comment on what she would have recommended, but overall, the staff was always smiling and great overall. 1 Star. Food - Our server brought out a nice, warm bowl of tortilla chips and red salsa. The chips were crispy, lightly salted, and were a great start to my meal. I then went with the Queso Fundito. The Oaxaca cheese was served in a hot pan, and the cheese was super stringy. I'm talking NY Style pizza string cheese. I had to use my knife to cut the cheese and wrapped it around warm tortillas to make my own mini enchiladas. For my main dish, I went with Cheese Enchilada Roja. Smothered in Salsa Roja, but the red onions were a bit tart for me. My meal ended with a chocolate Tres Leches cake. The cake was moist, but the star was the chocolate leches bath the cake sat it, soaking up the flavors and creating a sweet bite. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Wow, I was amazed at the modern Mexican atmosphere and menu. I'm so happy Cielitos has opened in Irving-Las Colinas. Welcome to my restaurant rotation. 1 Star.

I ordered the cheese fondue, the cheese was too thick to really enjoy it. Maybe if it was melted more it would have been better on the tortillas wraps. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and spacious. Service was okay the waitress could have been more attentive. We were missing one of our food ordered for 10 mins and had to get up and track down the waitress. The restaurant had a total of 10 people so it wasn't too busy.

This is a true hidden gem in Las Colinas! If you're considering trying it out, you better go because this is a must. The dishes are true authentic Mexican cuisine. You can't go wrong with any of them. The staff is friendly and very polite. We went during the weekend for lunch Saturday and Sunday (yes, it was worth it!) and it wasn't crowded at all. It's spacious and not loud. We look forward to visiting Cielito again next time we are in Dallas.

We really enjoyed our time at this restaurant over the weekend! We had a big party (24 people) that we reserved for, and despite our booking not getting processed on their end, they quickly prepared their private room for us so we didn't have to wait. We had some elderly people, kids, and a host of cultural backgrounds within our party which can make serving a bit challenging and certainly tiresome. However, our servers were patient, upbeat, catered to everyone's requests, and went above and beyond to take great care of us. The food was DELICIOUS!! Their salsa, homemade chips, and ceviche are definitely worth noting!! I'll definitely come back and recommend to friends! Thank you!!!

This spot is delicious! The space is tastefully decorated and has lots of lovely natural lighting. We had speedy and attentive service the whole way through. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait. We got the red salsa and frijoles enchiladas with cheese and chicken and they were AMAZING!! The charro beans and rice that came with them were really really good too. The old fashioned was delightful , even though we weren't really old fashioned type of ppl. Wonderful experience all around!! 12/10

We stopped by during an off-hour around 3 PM with my two kids, and it turned out to be the perfect time to enjoy an amazing meal without the rush. We ordered the birria tacos with corn tortillas, and wow, they were absolutely delicious! The meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The street corn came as three small corn cobs sprinkled with cheese and a tangy sauce such a fun twist on a classic. We also started with the guacamole, which was extra special thanks to the red onions and crispy pork rinds served alongside. My kids shared a chicken quesadilla, and it was the perfect portion for them simple, cheesy, and fresh. The service was wonderful: fast, attentive, and super accommodating with the kids. Even the bathrooms were spotless, which, as any parent knows, earns bonus points! The whole restaurant had a warm, welcoming vibe, relaxed but still stylish. We'll definitely be back, next time I'm trying the margaritas!

The atmosphere has a nice modern vibe to it. The food and drinks are quality. Our server was good but he seemed a little pre occupied.

When we asked the manager about it, he didn't seem to know they changed this. 10/25/25 was 8.25% tax (including alcohol in the order). All recent bills were anywhere from 13% to 16.5% hidden in the "tax" line, not even itemized. I'm sure because they know most won't realize it. This may explain why on a Friday at 5pm (even with a social hour) the bar was empty except for one other couple. Not going to reduce the stars since I like many of the long-timers that work here, but whoever is running the show now should probably re-examine their decisions. #WWFD

The menu leans Mexican fusion, with standout seafood and steak options across the board. One of my personal favorites is their sea bass special with pineapple reduction. It's beautifully balanced sweet, savory, and rich without being heavy and comes with perfectly cooked charred vegetables on the side. The drinks are excellent, especially the margaritas, which definitely lean on the stronger side, fair warning that one drink can feel like two. Save room for dessert too; they offer a solid selection of cakes and sweets that are a great way to close out the meal. Service is attentive and warm, and they also have private group dining rooms available, making it a great option for corporate events or holiday parties. Valet parking is available, but there's also plenty of convenient parking right next to the restaurant. Overall, Via Real is a reliable, elevated dining experience that still feels welcoming and rooted in tradition, a Las Colinas classic for a reason.

Lol But I also want to support this small restaurant and brag about literally how delicious everything is. From the empanadas that are cheesy and meaty you could eat as a meal alone, to all the flavors of each sauce they offer is exceptional. The poblano sauce is so good, I'd like to get a job in the kitchen for the recipe. We also asked for a side of the mole sauce just to try, it was smoky, sweet, and the right amount of spices. The tacos remind me of the tacos I get in Mexico with the grilled pineapple and picked onions. The salsa offered with the chips is warm and I love that. Will definitely be a go to restaurant for me. I forgot to snap a picture but I'll list some things I tried: Empanadas- 10/10- a must order. Flavor, texture, and taste are all amazing. Molé enchiladas- the molé is so good- especially for Dallas since most places are Tex Mex and molé is more Mexican. Definitely order if this is in your "taste profile." Lunch specials- I don't even know if this is on their website but they have a great lunch menu and they have a lunch combo special where you can pick two items for $10.50 and it comes with rice and beans. I ordered the cheese enchilada and the mini chimichanga. Full disclosure I didn't eat the mini chimichanga because I didn't know it was covered in queso and I hate queso (unpopular opinion- I know). I loved the enchilada though and it had chili con carne sauce which was delicious. Rice and beans were also very good. Next time I'll just say no queso on the chimi. The restaurant is really tiny but cozy and you can tell it is family owned. Definitely will be a regular spot for me and will be back.

The manager also came and gave us free beef fajita samples since he found out it was our first time. The flavor and juiciness of the beef blew me away. My wife and I got queso to compliment the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa and bean dips. I was a big fan of the beans too, didn't think I would be. We ended up getting a trio (beef, chicken, shrimp) fajita 1/2 pound and it was perfect for the 2 of us. You can taste the grilled and charred flavor on the meats. The chicken and shrimp were slightly on the drier side but when combined with the sour cream, beans, guac, cheese, they were perfection. For the two people, the limitation ended up being more the toppings to the fajitas but it was just enough. At about $25 for 2, that was a steal. The queso was about $9. Right before we were about to leave, Kayla recommended the tres leches dessert and you know we had to try it. It was solid. Loved the cream on top. Definitely would come back again!

Living in Sioux Falls has many positives, but distinct and deeply flavorful Mexican cuisine is unfortunately still something that's a little harder to come by compared to places like Arizona or Texas. So, we made it a point to stop at Lupe Tortilla while passing through Irving. The first thing we noticed was how packed the restaurant was during lunch. People were pouring in steadily, and the atmosphere had that energetic local favorite feeling where you know people come because they genuinely enjoy the food. Thankfully, the meal itself delivered. Now, was it the absolute best Mexican food I've ever had? No. But it was still leagues beyond most of what we've experienced lately back home in South Dakota. The carne asada especially stood out. The portion was massive, tender, and packed with smoky, savory flavor. You could immediately tell it had actually spent some time on a grill instead of simply being rushed out of a kitchen. We also enjoyed the tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, all of which had that comforting Tex-Mex richness and seasoning that we've really missed. Unfortunately, we were on a fairly tight travel schedule and couldn't linger the way we would have liked. Honestly, this felt like the sort of place where you could easily sit awhile longer, enjoy another drink, sample more dishes, and just soak in the lively atmosphere. Still, even as a quick stop, it was a great experience and a delicious reminder of how much we miss the bold Mexican food culture of the Southwest.

(English down below)…read more Saliendo del aeropuerto DFW, busqué algún restaurante que tuviera sopa de mariscos; no sé de dónde vino el antojo. Digo yo... no sé. Mejorar estos dos detalles llevaría la experiencia en El Viejón a otro nivel. ¡El Viejón, recomendadísimo! ------------------------------------- Leaving DFW airport, I found myself craving seafood soup--no idea where the craving came from. I searched for nearby options and El Viejón came up. I checked the online menu and reviews, then drove 13 minutes, only to discover a real gem. What I loved: The service was excellent. Nidia took care of us--she was not only kind, but also attentive and efficient. Adolfo, the manager, is a great guy. The simple but important things: Their plastic cups are surprisingly original. The menu is simple and humorous. Prices are fair for the generous portions they serve. What truly impressed me: The seafood soup. This kind of soup is simple: either you know how to make it, or you don't--and when you don't, it ends up like the one at Pappadeaux... something to cry about. This one, however, is loaded with seafood (crab, clams, octopus, fish, shrimp, squid, etc.). It has a subtle sweetness, and you can taste every distinct note. Highly recommended. One soup is more than enough for one person. I learned that lesson too late--after also ordering the grilled octopus. I had to get it to go because it was simply too much food. My only two complaints: The tostadas they serve come with chicken that looks like tuna but tastes like plastic. My dog was with me and wouldn't even eat it--which says a lot. Very strange. The other issue is the music: too loud and all from the same genre. If the goal is to honor Mexican culture, there are so many genres to choose from. Just saying--I don't know. Fixing these two things would take the experience at El Viejón to another level. El Viejón--highly recommended.
