It is a little pricey since you're weighing by the pound but also it's probably because I put way more than I was actually gonna be able to eat in my bowl. I was thoroughly impressed by most of the salad offerings. I love that potatoes and soup are also options as well. Then only negative is I did not think any of the meat options looked very appetizing. The meat looked kind of dry and sitting out there on the bar with no lid, which may be why it didn't look as appealing. I chose chickpeas as my protein for that reason. I feel like there's probably a better way to present the meat in a self service way without letting it dry out. They had a decent selection of teas, lemonades, and sodas to choose from to drink. The Salad Station is a brand new healthy eating option in the Las Colinas/Valley Ranch area of Irving. They are located in the northwest corner of I-635 and MacArthur near Raising Cane's Chicken. It's a boutique, serve yourself salad bar where the amount you pay is determined by the overall weight of your food selections. I don't like to mix savory with sweet, so I put two bowls on my tray and proceeded with my salad selections. All of the veggies and fruit are very bright, fresh, and flavorful. They have several protein options including seasoned grilled chicken, shrimp, and carved turkey breast which made my day! For me, there's nothing worse than a salad place without meat - they won't get repeat biz from me. I always eat salad dry because I love the taste of raw veggies, but they have lots of dressing flavors to choose from along with crunchy toppings. There is also a baked potato bar and a soup bar. I tried the Crawfish Pepperjack soup and it was delicious. I will say that paying $9.99 per pound can add up quickly, especially if you make dense food choices like I do. But my total today was $16.17 which I think is very reasonable considering the high quality and I was stuffed when I left. You can keep your price down by being very mindful of your choices. Lettuce weighs almost nothing, but fruits, proteins, and pasta salads are hefty, so only take what you can eat in one sitting. Also, water is free, but I am an iced tea ($2.59 of my total) addict and lucky for me theirs is fresh! Check this place out! The salad bar has everything you could want and more. You're able to portion out everything to your liking. The food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. You could sit and work if you need a place to stay for a bit. Well, the salad was good, I ordered through Yelp. It does not give you all the options. You should request that yelp not send to your menu. It did not offer any sides when wishing to make your own, just the salad and tomatoes. It was very bland, but I noticed on your website, they show various different kinds of salads too. What a great addition to the neighborhood! I have visited The Salad Station 4 times over the last month or so. The location is bright, inviting and clean. I am always greeted immediately when I enter and asked if I have been there before (if not they quickly explain the setup and offer you tastes of items). You self serve your own salad from a bar of many choices, while wearing a plastic glove to touch the serving utensils. There are romaine, spring and spinach choices for the base, then multiple options for veggies, fruits, meats, cheeses, seeds/nuts and dressings. In addition there is a hot bar with sweet potatoes, regular baked potatoes and about 5-7 soups. Once you have finished making your meal, you pay by weight at the register. Easy peasy. Twice I have made an extra salad for the next day simply by keeping the dressing separate. Value is good and they have an app that saved me $5 on my last visit! read more
