i asked for a double shot over ice with a splash of oat milk and a tiny bit of vanilla and they gave me a latte. it felt like they didn't care about the quality of coffee or customer service bc when i was picking up my drink i was trying to get someone's attention and they were too busy so i figured it wasn't worth it and just threw away my $5 drink. the decor inside was very fun and on brand for them but the music is really loud. read more

Such a cute coffee spot! We got 3 drinks and 2 pastries and everything was SO good. Sharon helped us out and was super sweet. Service was quick & the music was vibing. We were greeted by multiple employees right when we walked in which made it feel really welcoming. You could tell the place stays busy because customers were constantly coming in and out with their orders, but everything still moved fast. Definitely adding this spot to our coffee list. read more

The highlight of my visit was the barista. He answered my questions and provided recommendations. He let me sample the nitro cold brew, and gave me his personal opinion. He asked questions to make sure that my drink was the way that I wanted. upon walking in, it was quite busy, but the line was moving fairly fast. Our drinks came out quickly. I thought that it was overpriced. I will acknowledge the portion size was fairly generous, but I don't particularly like paying $6.50 for a coffee, especially from a chain. My cold brew tasted good . I preferred it to the nitro like the barista recommended. It had a good amount of hazelnut syrup. I wish there wasn't an up charge, but that is to be expected. The environment was great . I loved the bright colors and theme. they sold merchandise which was cute. They also sold beans. They had a case of grab and go drinks including their own brand of energy drinks, and a bunch of liquid death. I wish the interior was bigger since it was pretty busy it felt crowded . There were some seating areas, but not a ton. Me and my friend took ours to go. I was impressed overall and would recommend to people who enjoy specialty drinks - they had a lot of options and allowed for customizations. I'll be honest. To me, the latte tasted bland and a little burnt. For a coffeeshop, the bare minimum is being better than Starbucks and I'm not sure I could wholeheartedly say that it was. On the bright side, the apple poptart was good, even though I ordered a different pastry but got this. I tend to not review places I don't enjoy because I don't like giving low review scores. However, I feel like this is one of the rare instances where my discontent seesawed from apathy to displeasure. I've visited the San Diego locations many times so I was excited to visit this location. I came here on a weeknight to get some work done and while there wasn't much seating inside, I managed to find a spot. It was nighttime so I opted for a smoothie. The worker helping me out at the register helped me decide and I really appreciated her. The smoothie was absolutely delicious and I was able to concentrate pretty well inside the shop. Coffee: I've tried several lattes here. Their PSL is fire. The others are your typical lattes. I was NOT a fan of the Mexican latte. It was too chocolate heavy. Service: Just ok. Ambiance: While the interior was clean with a minimalist style, the music was loud af. I was there with a friend to catch up and I felt like I was yelling to have a conversation. I asked the worker if they could turn down the music, but they said it's controlled by corporate. Like, they played some bangers, but didn't need to be so loud. First time to this place! I heard so many good things! Coffee and food are great! My only thing is don't show up anytime after 7. Staff was not happy to see us! I tried the Moroccan coffee, which was delicious and definitely something I'd come back for! I also had the Snickerdoodle coffee, but it was way too sweet for my taste (though you can ask them to adjust the sweetness). One area that could use improvement is the layout or service flow. They have a menu at the entrance, but I was asked to order while still in line, and I couldn't see the menu anymore, which caught me off guard. I ended up ordering the only items I could remember. It would be helpful if they had printed menus that customers could hold while waiting in line, especially when it's busy. The space could also benefit from a few more outdoor tables and maybe a speaker system. The waiting area felt a bit cramped, especially on the weekend when there were about 10 people waiting for their orders. Overall, good coffee, but the setup could use some tweaks for a more comfortable experience. read more

This location has officially stolen my coffee-loving heart. First off, HUGE shoutout to the friendly staff and the amazing manager who greeted me at the register on July 19th! I didn't catch his name, but he was so warm and welcoming -- truly set the tone for a great experience. Now let's talk about that SF Vanilla Latte with almond milk and raspberry cold foam... yes, you read that right -- raspberry cold foam! It's my new obsession and the flavor combo is unreal. Sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Very subtle raspberry flavor! My go-to is always the Better Breakfast sandwich -- it hits every time. I recently visited this new coffee shop and, unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. The Americano coffee I ordered was subpar, and there were no napkins available at the counter where you get sugars and other condiments. The staff member I interacted with was neither knowledgeable nor particularly friendly. When I asked for napkins, they didn't seem to have any around. Additionally, I noticed there was no honey available, which was surprising given that the shop's theme revolves around honeycomb and bees. I expected honey to be offered as a natural sweetener option. Overall, I found the experience lacking, and I believe Starbucks offers better coffee and friendlier service, which is quite telling. read more

I've been to Better Buzz multiple times, but this visit was honestly the worst and completely changed my opinion. I ordered a hot coffee, and they couldn't even make it hot. They didn't communicate anything to me, didn't explain why, and just handed me a lukewarm drink like it was no big deal. On top of that, the worker had an attitude the entire time, which made the whole experience feel disrespectful. The service was unprofessional, and the way I was treated made me not even want to step foot back in the store. I was so frustrated that I considered asking for a refund and that's how bad it was. Overall, this was disappointing, disrespectful, and not worth returning for. Never coming back after this experience. read more

I had high hopes for this place, having passed by it numerous times and always seeing it busy with customers. I figured it must be good, but unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. I ordered a latte and a breakfast wrap, and both were disappointing. The latte price was slightly above average, and the espresso lacked any distinct flavor--it was just bland. The breakfast wrap was even more disappointing; for $11, I could have easily made something far tastier at home. Kevin, Irvin, and Destiny were both incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole visit feel welcoming and easy. Typically i will go to Starbucks or Kean coffee in Tustin. Lately, I've been going to Better Buzz in Costa Mesa and in Santa Ana because the coffee is so much better from start to finish. From the ambiance of walking into a cool, clean store, greeted by cheerful baristas and staff, to the attentive employee carefully taking my order. The drinks are always delicious and impeccably made. I love treating myself with a drink from Better Buzz. Shout out to @Moises for taking care of me and making my drink with extra love and care. I recently visited this place and was blown away by their outstanding customer service and top-notch coffee. The staff greeted me warmly and were eager to help me find the perfect brew. Since it was my first time there, Zeffe and his team were patient and answered any of my questions. You can tell these folks love working there. I recently visited Better Buzz with two of my girlfriends, unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed indifferent. The guy who took my friend's order was super rude and when she started ordering, he interrupted her and sarcastically said, "Uh can I get a name first". The coffee was alright. I've had better made coffee at other Better Buzz locations in Carlsbad and San Diego. Overall, the rude barista who took our order made the visit unpleasant, and it's unlikely I'll return to this location. read more

Selena at Better Buzz was such a kind and welcoming barista! We came in right before closing, and still took great care of us with a positive attitude. When I first walked in I was greeted so well by staff and Amy was very good at making recommendations! She recommended the vanilla bean latte since I don't really like sweet and it was so good ! So happy there is a new coffee spot near to my house! They used to have this guava cream cheese croissant that was the best baked good i have ever put into my mouth and then they got rid of it :( It isn't the best coffee I've ever had but it's good enough. Service is a little slow but everyone is extremely nice. It is always packed in there. Overall, great spot and will keep returning. read more
