Mint Infused Iced Coffee - Refreshing concept but didn't quite deliver. The coffee flavor was there, but the heavy cream overpowered it, leaving it more like a milked-down coffee. There was hardly any mint flavor, though I did get a subtle hint when I mixed the mint leaves in for a while. I liked that it wasn't overly sweet (not the drink for those who like their coffee on the sweet side), but I expected a better balance between the espresso, mint, and sweetness. Overall, a creative twist, just not as bold as I'd hoped. Pistachio croissant - The filling was hollow with no cream inside, and it just had a drizzle of pistachio butter and a sprinkle of pistachio bits on top. You can ask them to heat it up - tasted so much better warm, but as it was, it lacked that rich, nutty flavor I was hoping for. Not bad, but could be so much better with a proper filling. Guava and cream cheese croissant - Nice croissant with a tasty cream cheese custard, but I was hoping for more guava flavor. There wasn't much guava taste, and I expected a guava filling inside, but it was mostly cream cheese. Still, it was pretty decent when warmed up, with a good texture and just enough sweetness. A solid pastry, just missing that fruity punch. Service was quick and friendly! This is the shop we needed, I'm glad to see this corner back to life. Energy in this place is amazing, they have a flow and know how to move things. Parking has always sucked around here but the over flow lot next to them works for a quick in and out. Happy workers and a fun menu although I'm stuck on my iced mocha (non fat), I say I'm gonna try other drinks and six times now I'm stuck on my favorite. Better Buzz is known for their smooth vanilla coffee and specialities spill into their baked goodies. Find this in the same shopping center as Mendinco Farms and California Fish Grill. They have an app so you can order ahead to avoid the line. The establishment is new so everything is nice and clean and offers indoor and outdoor seating. Music is loud but a nice hang out spot with friends. If you're into vanilla, "The Best Drink Ever" is their signature or if you want a twist, I'd recommend the Cinnamon Cold Brew or Horchata Iced Latte. Food-3 Incorrect Service-0 Waited 50 minutes for a correct order Ambiance-4 I have been to several Better Buzz stores in San Diego County. Each time I have been, the shops have been very busy. In addition, the customer service has been good with no major wait times. In the afternoon of Friday, December 26, 2025, I went to Better Buzz Costa Mesa, for the first time. 2 other people were with me. The store was extremely busy with 1 to 3 employees working the register and filling orders. All of the employees were working very hard. The woman at the register took our order without issue. Our order came to over $90, with tip. We purchased a gift box with 2 coffees, (to be ground), a baseball cap, a regular hot chocolate, 2 large hot lavender teas with oat milk, an almond croissant, and a blueberry muffin. The croissant and muffin were ready within about 5 minutes. The two bags of grounded coffee were ready next. Finally, the three drinks were ready, with a total of about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the coffee was not sealed up properly, after being ground, and had to be taped by us. Our tea drinks had to be returned, because they were regular size, not large. The stickers on the cups said large. This is the point where the service completely fell apart. It was another 30 minutes to get the correct size tea. We watched people come in, place orders, and leave, while we waited for our corrected order. When I talked to one of the employees, I was told they were understaffed, and very busy. There was no apology for the incorrect order. There was no rush to correct the order. The employees working the afternoon shift need retraining on the steps needed to correct a wrong order. It is unacceptable to wait 50 minutes for a complete correct order. Our order should have been placed at the top of the list with an apology, because of the employees' mistake. Our order was placed at the bottom of the list, or it might not have been resubmitted into the system at all. On Saturday, December 27, 2025, I made a call to the Costa Mesa store at about 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, wanting to talk to the manager. Both calls went to voicemail. I left a message both times with my name and number for the manager to call. As of Monday evening, December 29, I have not had a returned call. Better Buzz, in Costa Mesa, improve your customer service. Your customers are your lifeline. Please retrain your staff, manager included, on the steps needed when an order is prepared incorrectly. No one should wait 50 minutes for a correct order. read more

I had the pleasure of attending their grand opening, and from the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm welcomes and a vibrant, energetic atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly, and they even treated my puppy to a pup cup! I ordered the best drink ever which is an americano with their signature vanilla buzz powder. The flavor was rich and smooth and not too sweet, absolutely delicious! Came here on an outing with one of my college clubs. We went pretty late, so it was mostly just us. We are a pretty big group! The decorations and overall theme of this place is really cute. Not sure how its like in the morning, but theres space to mingle and chat with friends. I wouldnt be surprised if it gets busy during the day time. I got a matcha tea latte, and it didnt disappoint. It was a solid drink with that slight bitter taste we all love in matcha. Theres lots of different options to choose from for the next time I visit, but all my friends liked their respective drinks/pastries/food. The presentations of the bowls and toasts especially were nice! Speaking of pastries... shoutout to Monze for taking care of us. If there is anything similar in these reviews, it would be that this place has suuuuuperb customer service. Location-wise, they took over the old Starbucks next to Vons so plenty of parking. The one mishap was in the service. When our name was called, only 1 of the 2 drinks were made and when mentioned to staff, he said it's still being prepared. There lies their mistake. They should have instead actually checked the order. After waiting another 5 min. And many other orders being fulfilled, I asked again. Only then, did they make a substitute drink.
