Iced Matcha Latte
Denise T.

Decided to give this place a try on my way to dinner. Love the aesthetics. They have a great menu. It's a typical coffee shop that's trendy. The drinks were average. We paid about 8 dollars for our drink. I enjoyed my drink and the service was great. There's so many coffee shops around and this one is no different than the next. Just a nice place to sit and have a cup of joe.

Staff here is friendly, quick to greet new customers, and available for questions. The menu may look a bit sparse but there are lots of syrups available for you to customize your perfect drink. There are also staff recommendations on a white board. Lots of space for working with a few outlets along the wall. There is also outdoor seating with a fire pit. It can get warm inside the shop so dress accordingly.

Iced Caffe Latte, large with sweet cream cold foam

I pass by this coffee shop a lot and finally tried it. The interior is super cute and they also have a nice outdoor patio. The staff was friendly. I got the iced latte with sweet cream cold foam and amaretto syrup. It was a little too sweet for my liking.

Cafe Macchiato is a weak one..... I wouldn't get it again..

A cool coffee shop with a cool layout. The service was nice and friendly. The coffee on the other hand is questionable. I got the cafe macchiato. I thought the drink would have a very bold coffee flavor. But nope, it was a weak one which is very disappointing. I am not sure how some coffee shops make amazing, bold coffees and some just are horrible at it. I doubt I will be back here anytime soon! Unbookmark it!

Spur of the moment decision to stop by for some caffeine before an afternoon hike. I ordered the matcha and it was just too light and tasted like milk. I'll try a coffee next time. The menu has a little bit of everything. The menu includes a pastry and sandwich case. Great big space. Casual. Lots of parking. Please come and create your own adventure.

Staff was very friendly and gave good recommendations! Decided to go with their french toast latte 50% sweet w/ almond milk. I was surprised how much this actually tasted like French toast. Delicious! Will be back!

I am an early bird when it comes to studying, so I definitely have my eye out for places like this where I can set up shop and also get my caffeine fix! The barista was really nice when I came here and recommended the pistachio cream latte which was rich but not too sweet. It completed my morning perfectly. There's plenty of spaces to sit and some outlets so I enjoyed studying here.

Blueberry muffin & Mango Dreamsicle(energy drink)

My boyfriend has been wanting to tru this cute place for a while, and we finally decided to go in. Jana was very helpful with recommendations. We tried the banana muffin & blueberry muffin. 10/10 definitely recommend everyone to try!

Mango Dreamsicle smoothie

My first visit here was over a little over a year ago - between that time and today, I've gone here a few times a month - and things have improved, the environment has mellowed out. I think one of the biggest turnoffs initially when they first opened was they would have these large scale community nights like bingo - which would draw a huge crowd of people - turning the place into a madhouse. But, to be fair, I imagine that's their way of trying to attract new customers to their business. So I can't really fault them for that. Things have mellowed out now, the crowd is more consistent - there's a mix of students during the week, business people, and a more casual crowd on the weekends. I've tried a number of drinks here (and taken a photo of each kind attached to this review) - my favorite is the drink I'm trying today, which is the Mango Dreamsicle. It's a ice blended drink, with a decent mango flavor - doesn't taste artificial, good amount of cream. Almost tastes like a drinkable mango-flavored yogurt. The highlight is that the caffeine (about 75mg) is from the lotus plant. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors - only two outlets for those who are working on a laptop. Employees have always been friendly. Parking is never an issue. It's a huge lot, with plenty of open spaces, even during peak lunch/dinner hours.

Easy to find! Parking is very easy. Very clean location. Spacious in tons of seating inside and on their private patio with heaters. Such a cute spot in the service was awesome. There were two people working and you can tell that they weren't just rushing to make the orders. They really took their time to make your drinks and food just right. When they handed me my bagel and cream cheese and iced cappuccino, they asked if everything was to my liking. I'll definitely come back!

French Toast Latte n Caramel Frap

Well, to start, we went in the evening right before closing. There was plenty of parking and seating. It was dark so I did not take a video of the outside patio area, but thought it would be amazing to sit out there during warm summer nights, or during the day for studying/computer work. The barista working behind the counter, was helpful in answering all the questions, but not very friendly, in terms of smiling and conversational. I think she just had a very long day because she said she worked on the morning also, I was so I gave it a pass. The coffee I choose was off the barista's creation board, and when she explained how she makes it, it sounded amazing. But the taste was not as amazing to my palette. I'd give it a 3.5/5. The caramel frappe was also meh, average. All in all, I would try this coffeehouse again if I was passing by Edinger because it's quite conveniently located and very cute aesthetics. I could see myself hanging with friends or working in the space. AND I only had one drink there, so some others may be delis

To our surprise, the chile verde breakfast burrito was better than expected. The drinks were all amazing and just what we needed. Our family will be back soon to try other items on the menu. I cannot believe we hadn't discovered this place sooner. Staff were friendly, very knowledgeable about their menu items, and willing to customize to accommodate our kid's choice of drinks. We didn't wait long everything was out quickly. The tables were mostly occupied by people on their laptops which was nice & calm for anyone needing to do work or to study. The place is very well-kept and very clean. This location has a restroom that requires a code for use.

(Does anyone work anymore!? ) The longest I waited was an hour but that was 3 weeks after opening. And I can tell you, as long as you have the time it will be worth it. The overall aesthetic is coastal cowboy meets rustic modern. There is a ton of seating with a great outdoor patio. Parking in the back is pretty slim, so your best bet is street parking. You can either get lucky or park around the block, depending on the day / time. My absolute favorite coffee is the Hawaiian Cowboy. It flavor profile is a nutty tasting honey that's refreshing yet not overly sweet. You can actually taste the espresso without it being too powerful. This coffee is worth the wait. Their other drinks are also good, but this one takes the cake. They have a pretty expansive food menu as well, so it's much more than "just a coffee shop". And you can't forget about their baked goods. O M G. It's from a local bakery (sift bakery) who makes the best non basic treats around. At the Costa Mesa location, parking was a little tricky at first, but after circling we got lucky with a corner spot. The location itself is SO cute! It's right next to colorful barrel fountains, and on a sunny day it honestly felt like the perfect coffee outing. The line was pretty long and you are standing in direct sun, so just keep that in mind, but the service was quick and efficient once you order. Inside, it's small but really charming, with Sunny Angels hidden around and a very open, friendly vibe. My sister (who is basically a professional coffee drinker at this point ) got the matcha and said it was her favorite, which says a lot. I got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk, and it was SO good. Spanish lattes are my go-to, and this one had the perfect hint of cinnamon without being overly sweet. Even as the ice melted, it still tasted great, which is rare. The Torrance location was just as good! Parking was easier, the space is bigger, and the service was still super friendly and fast. My husband got the cold brew "Nook way" and finished it in like 10 minutes. He said it tasted like Golden Grahams cereal. Highly recommend both locations and especially the Spanish latte. The parking however, was VERY filled during this time. The line was huge for a 11:00am on a Friday morning. We were bummed that the QR code was not working on the very cute wooden signage outside the coffee shop while we were in line, which was a bummer. The Honey Oat Latte with oat milk was delicious. I am notorious for chugging my iced coffee but this was absolutely delicious. A sweet, subtle honey sweetness taste and the creamy oat milk was divine. My manager's Spanish Latte was so much better & I will be getting that next time! We bought our other coworker the Strawberry Matcha, which we did not try & we were worried after the fact because it did not look like it had strawberries in it, but she confirmed it was very tasty and tasted the strawberry! The outside seating areas in this outdoor area was very cute. Lots of fun art, the directory was creative, the CD tunnel was the coolest part! We also walked over to the breakfast burrito place as well. This seems like a nice area to come and relax and just people watch and enjoy a delicious iced latte from Nook.
