Just beware that the food is DEEP fried. Lots of TV's set up around the bar to watch sports and plenty of tables to sit and eat or just drink beer with your friends. Review for delivery only! Placed an order through yelp and it came in about half the delivery time, so that's always a plus! The driver was very nice and called per my delivery instructions. The burger was excellent!! Really delicious and flavorful, I enjoyed every bite! The bun stayed crisp during transit as well. I got the shoestring fries which were less shoestring and more standard fries. They were under-salted but showed up hot! Probably the best delivered fries I've ever had. I also got the boneless chicken wings with the regular spicy buffalo sauce. These were kind of strange honestly. They were very big pieces of chicken and needed to be cut before you could eat them. The sauce was not what I was expecting at all. Buffalo sauce, to me, means thin, spicy, orange sauce but they serve thick, sweet, dark red sauce. I want to like this place since it so close to my apartment but it falls short. I used to come here often to catch a game but that was before I lived in the neighborhood, mostly only when I was already tipsy (which may be why I liked it so much and kept coming back!). I and those I am with have been given dirty glasses on so many occasions and the bartenders are not at all concerned about it.. as though it is a normal thing to hand out glasses with lipstick, hair or lord-knows-what. They do have a nice selection of ciders and bottled beers so my recommendation is stick to something in a bottle, there is a great selection! Someone I was with ordered wings once which she said tasted great but that was until she found some non-edible substance in them. I am really surprised they have an A rating. The staff is okay, not the most attentive but the nearby bars have worse. The crowd on the weekends is made up of the typical dive-bar, chain smoking, profanity screaming 'old school' Bay Ridge types. We ordered from this place using the Uber eats app. We have eaten their food a few times before. This time after eating about 5 fries I saw a hair. I pulled at it and it was followed by a ball of hair with lint. After revealing the ball there was still more hair entangled with more fries. I called bean post and was put on hold and then spoke to a woman that said she personally inspected the Uber eats orders and the food was fine and that it was Uber's issue once it left. I told her that the hair was not just on top but intertwined with the food. I was told again to call uber. I am disgusted and disappointed that they didn't care about the issue at all . Great old school neighborhood pub. The catering is definitely worth considering. Place has been here for ever.

First experience: Not bad. Friendly bartender, good beer selection (not the coldest beer I've ever had, but I was drunk), subpar jalapeño poppers, but it is what it is. *** Second experience: Pretty bad. March Madness and the bar was packed with some sort of work event, extremely loud pop music playing (I mean LOUD--I could barely hear my girlfriend and we were yelling across our tiny table). I ordered a BBQ burger cooked medium and it came well done, barely any sauce or toppings like they listed on the description. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever had, but overpriced for what it was, and service was lacking. The kicker is that the waitress then charged us $5 tax (they write out their receipt) when the tax was supposed to be only $2 and change. I calculated the tax myself, thinking it seemed high, and realized she doubled it. Maybe it was a mistake--I didn't say anything and let it slide. *** Third experience: The actual fucking worst. Should've learned from the tax fiasco, but I was craving wings and the wait at The Kettle Black was out of control. For a place that has a FULL PAGE of the menu dedicated to their wings, these things are... disgusting. The garlic Parmesan wings were not covered in a garlic Parmesan sauce--they were fried, covered in oil, and sprinkled with Parmesan that pooled in the oil at the bottom of the wing container. The medium buffalo wings were a slightly spicy BBQ sauce, which confused us at first--we were sure we had gotten the wrong order. So, we sent it back, only to have the wings come back and the bartender assured us they WERE medium hot but "had a little BBQ sauce to make them less spicy." Uh... okay. We sent them back and, at this point, the only positive I can give this place is that they the bartender was gracious enough to take "medium buffalo wings" off the bill, but the waitress still made up an arbitrary amount for tax. Worth the ride to Brooklyn. This was such a cool fun bar with the friendliest ppl I hv ever met in any of NYs borough bars. Everyone was focused on dancing, singing and just being happy silly and friendly. The guys were gentlemen .. No creepy dudes and the girls were down to earth and unpretentious. I was able to come in here w my daughter and not hv to worry we were going to be hit on every second. The owner was awesome and the service was great. They had open French tavern doors where you can sit at high top bar tables and enjoy watching ppl go by. Plenty of big screen TVS, 26 different types of beer ALL ON DRAFT, (I had pumpkin spice beerand Excellant wings and hot pretzels dipped in cheese. There was also a Dj in the back room w plenty of space to dance. The bathrooms were also clean. The only bad part is no pkg. This place is a hike away from Williamsburg, but we came out to watch the opening night Yankee game. Because of the Easter holiday, I stepped in right at opening, only person in the bar. The 'tender was nice about it, comping a drink as I waited for friends. Once the game started, it filled up to a buzzing-yet-comfortable level. The bartender was friendly. Crowd was a fun banter of Yankee and Red Sox fans. Drink prices were fair. Bar food, for the price, was really good. Loved the fried mac & cheese wedges. Bathroom was spacious and clean. I made an order over the phone which came out to over 60$ the order was charged on my card, over an hour of waiting for my order, I called back to inquire and the hostess said my order was never sent out, and they failed to inform me. I than, placed the order again, which was also paid for. Long story short: this establishment basically stole 60+$ from me. This was several months ago, now, and the store has yet to get back to me with a solution to this issue. I recently phoned in a pick-up order at the M&M Deli affiliated with the Bean Post. When I got my credit card statement I was double-billed. I called the Deli and told them what happened. The guy said he would check into it. The next day the manager called me back. I explained I had placed my order & then called back a short time later to add something so that's why I was charged twice. He checked into it, said no problem & did I want another order or wait for credit. I opted for another order from the pub. We just got some burgers & they were great! I've been here many times...Afternoon Sunday football games, Wednesday nights Friday nights & Saturday nights...This place is awesome where there are many fans besides NY fans come together to watch the game. Extensive beer list....many different flavors of Pinnacle Vodka...I believe they have all the flavors. One night, my friends and I were drinking and decided to order the buffalo wings....One of my friends order the most spicied one on the menu....I tried and never again....I chugged down a pint of cider....I love spicy but that was way over the border! So the next time...I describe the way I like my wings to be...spicy but not to the point of chugging a pint of cider...lol! The bartenders are always nice and tentive here. There are tons of differenmt drinks on tap or in the bottle, to include wine. The bar seems a bit older, but that just adds to the atmosphere. The bartender ensures the latest newspaper articles on all the recent sports games are posted in the bathrrom, which was awesome as I ended up making more than one visit to empty my bladder. The food was good and fairly priced. I got the sweet potatoe fries and my friend got the same, along with some crab cakes. All was eaten and enjoyed. Went there for the first time last night for a quick bite. I ordered one of their burgers with fries. The burger was solid, cooked the way I ordered it, and the fries were outstanding. The fries were skinnier than the standard but not as thin and small as fries one would get at Steak & Shake. It was the first night of football season and I liked the crowd that was there--mostly of men who shouted, groaned, and cheered at the television. I like being in a room of avid fans. There are a lot of televisions and I like the sports news clippings posted on a board above the urinals as well as the little T.V. mounted on the upper corner of the bathroom. Nice. read more

I'm revising my opinion of this den. My prior review was too harsh; it was based on random minor bad evenings I experienced at the Post but which in all honesty were not the fault of the owners nor managers. The Post has demonstrated staying-power in a neighborhood where restaurant turnover is high and expectations are stringent (thanks to so many other choices of venue). It's grown on me over time; I like consistency. Yes, it's got a slight 'edge' to it but really the pub food here is some of the best I've found during a long night of boozing. Dishes can be on the spicy side--just be careful what you order, know in advance what your system can handle. The kitchen here will not 'baby' sensitive-stomachs. Bottom line: as other stalwart Bay Ridge landmarks have disappeared or turned sour, sold-out, gone-trendy or hip....Bean Post Pub stays true to its original low-key, AC/DC style. The one gripe I will still harbor is the music. It's terrible. I suppose they have to cater to all the most mindless Top40 hip-hop garbage that 21-25 yr old morons demand --that's the kind of crowd they get --but if this place only had a jukebox I'd be in here every weekend. read more

This is the "Cheers" bar you love to go to. The staff are always filling you up, and I have to say, I really love their wings and fried mushrooms. They are by far the best I have tasted. I find myself going to this bar frequently and I love how I always feel comfortable. Some people complain that the food is greasy- guess what genius it's a bar! Fries are cooked in oil!!
