Great service especially by the bar tender . The food was very flavorful and super hot, the grill marks on the quesadillas were a big plus and never seen that before or had . I'd definitely come back again . Drinks were bad at all either

It's ok. It's an acquired taste. Service is friendly and attentive. It's kinda small but try them out if you like..

Food 4/5 - Cali Fish Taco, fish was fried well but battered lacked a bit of seasoning. Felt kind of plain. Diablo Diego Taco, shrimp was well seasoned and had a good sear. Sauce had a good amount of heat and the accompanying slaw provided a good contrast to the shrimp. Korean BBQ Steak Taco, decent steak taco. Had some Asian flavors, and steaks as tender. Slightly sweet. Chips and Guac, good Guac and chips. Guac had a good amount of ingredients and tortilla chips were salted and fried. Street Corn, good Mexican street corn bowl. A little too much mayo, could use more of the elote flavor. Service & Ambiance 4/5 - service was good, staff was attentive. Refilled the free chips and salsa twice and made sure everything was good. Ambiance was great for a date night or just a dinner out with friends. Place had a nice beachy theme.

Came here with a friend to grab some tacos and I would not come back here again. The only good thing was the Korean pulled pork taco; that was the only thing I would get again if I was in the area. Their Al pastor was not it and it tasted off.. Guac and chips; 3.5/5.. Their chips were a bit stale and I did not enjoy their bland guac :(! Overall; I would try their other items. However, I would stay away from their guac & chips & Al pastor.

Fun atmosphere and fun service! The drinks were pretty good and I liked the salsa and guacamole. However the burrito was really subpar. Rice and meat were overcooked and not a lot of flavor.

It was Taco Tuesday hence I decided to have lunch at this establishment. The atmosphere was laidback. My waiter was personable when I walked in. I asked for a table. Since it was a weekday lunch hour, I was seated immediately. Their taco special was amazing. I loved how fresh the fish was. I highly recommend coming here,

Absolutely delicious and very affordable. Ended up doing catering from here and had soo much food!! We did 4 types of meats- korean bbq, carnitas, chicken, and beef. My fav was Korean bbq, was quite surprised but it was amazing- definitely recommended. The takeout included beans (2 types), corn, pico, sauces, and more. This is absolutely perfect for a large gathering, and soo soo good. Can't recommend enough- and so much food!

Best Taco joint in Brooklyn. If you're at the bar, ask for Sean, he's Bay Ridge's best bartender. Great people, great food.

From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless -- warm, incredibly attentive, and perfectly paced. The refreshments were so great for a celebration. The Cocktails: Expertly crafted and sophisticated. It was refreshing to have drinks that were perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. The coffee was served alongside dessert, it was rich and the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful meal. While the Filet Mignon was a popular and well loved choice among our group, and the Meatballs were universally raved about for being truly excellent, the real showstopper for me was the Chicken Parmesan. I don't typically order steak, so I was delighted by this choice. The cutlet was impressively sized yet elegantly thin, showcasing the high quality of the chicken. It was served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes, which was such a comforting and delicious pairing. It did remind me of visiting Germany believe it or not like a schnitzel style cutlet but still very italian if that makes any sense. If you visit, you simply cannot miss the fried eggplant appetizer with burrata. It is divine! This dish alone would be the perfect excuse to drop by for a casual dinner date or a "girls' night out" centered around appetizers, wine, and to try a dessert. I would absolutely return!

The fried calamari could've been less oily, as this took away from the crunch; also slightly overcooked. Baked clams were decent. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Pizza was great! They reheated for us, since our group was too busy chatting. Desserts - phenomenal! Drinks- ehh. Brunch menu - French toast was decent. The salmon over hash brown , was lacking a touch of something , couldn't pinpoint what was lacking. Chicken and waffles, decent, wasn't the best I've had. Service- jonathan was our waiter during brunch and also our bartender. He's GREAT! During service dinner, we had a female waitress and I felt she lacked attention to details and couldn't flag her down when we wanted something. Overall, service is a hit or miss , I guess? No snickering. This is largely because of the sweet customer service. A three star review for more…read morelike two star quality. It is not saying much for a city that really lacks in Mexican cuisine. To say I did not give this restaurant a fair shake is like saying I only went to an ice cream shop and only ordered the cone. I went all out there, which is maybe why I received the service I received, or maybe it is because I sat next to what appeared to be my server's children. Whatever the case, I was treated well here. Onto the food. The Sopa Azteca (their tortilla soup) is a nice change from what I had at a previous Mexican restaurant. I would like the portion to be bigger and more meat in it, but I like the Mexican spices and the variety here. It is quite enjoyable. The Queso Fundido should be called a Queso No Divertido. It was awful to eat, with lousy flavor and texture. This is the second time I have struck out with this appetizer. It is safe to say I am done ordering it in this city. Nobody does it right. The Paella is nice, but at its core has the essence of a nice dish. Some parts are full of tremendous flavor, and some parts are dry and bland. I ate this all out of necessity, and also because once I mixed the bland with the good it actually turned into something quite pleasant. The chicken enchiladas I ordered because it would not be fair to come here and pass up something Tex-Mex as an entree. The chicken is inconsistent, well cooked in some spots, dry in others. The salsa verde has a lot of kick here, but the side salad and charro beans nearly ruin the whole thing. At least the Mexican rice is fluffy and has great flavor. Speaking Spanish to the staff helped curry points in the service department. I like family owned businesses. Everybody was busy and on point. So what if the food does not wow, I have given more, for less. Hence why this is a three star review and not a two star review.

Every visit feels like catching up with an old friend who knows exactly how you like your salsa. That consistency is as comforting as it is rare in the city that never sleeps. Before we even flipped open the menu, they slid over complimentary chips and pico de gallo that set the bar impossibly high. The pico was bursting with bright, tangy tomatoes and cilantro, and those homemade chips were the perfect balance of crisp and salty. It was the kind of welcome that makes you cancel your other dinner plans on the spot. I went for the Taco de Birria made with brisket, and I swear the richest consomé I've ever tasted lived up to its name. Each taco got dunked into that deep, savory broth, then inhaled faster than a greased pig at a county fair. By taco number three, I was pretty sure I'd found my soulmate in molten cheese and slow-cooked meat form. 'The Man' ordered the Chicken Mole, which came with a generous scoop of rice and beans on the side. He sat back, took that first bite, and basically entered a state of pure food-induced bliss. Watching him lose track of time as he devoured every last drop of mole was its own kind of entertainment. We washed it all down with a Piña Margarita, along with another cocktail that leaned so hard into the tequila you could almost feel the agave fields. Add a Modelo on the side and you've got a drinks menu that doesn't play around. These aren't dainty sips--they're the kind that could very reasonably put hair on your chest. Service here is so personalized it's almost telepathic. We never waited more than a second for a refill or a check, and the staff felt like an invisible waitress on standby, ready to swoop in the moment we so much as blinked. We left a hefty tip without hesitation because they earned every penny. Las Margaritas on 3rd and 92nd isn't just our go-to--it's a staple. Whether we're craving tacos at home in our pajamas or settling in for a full sit-down dinner, we know they'll deliver every single time. Consider us regulars for life.

Very complex flavors) and the Queen of the Desert (cool refreshing cucumber followed by a spicy heat in the back of your throat, grew on me over time). Food was also quite good. I enjoyed the truffle popcorn and I still have no idea how they made those lemongrass chicken ginger dumplings so yummy (I normally don't even like chicken dumplings bc they're usually not as juicy as pork, but these didn't have that problem). They gave us a tiny sample of one of their house-made liquors at the end-- let me tell you, I'm not the biggest fan of just having liquor on its own but dang, that went down sooooo smoothly.

The moment you step inside, you're hit with a masterclass in ambiance: dramatic paintings, modern industrial mirrors, lighting so flattering it could fix your credit score, and a neon‑blue bar that looks like it was designed by someone who said, "Let's make this place unforgettable." And they did. We arrived for our 7:15 reservation and were offered our choice of two tables -- a luxury in itself. It was a little stuffy inside, so we chose the table by the front window, where the air was breathable and the people‑watching was premium. Menus and water arrived immediately, followed by our server three minutes later, ready for drink orders like a man on a mission. I ordered a Shirley Temple; The Man ordered a Cacho Caipirinha. Three minutes after that, the drinks appeared along with a server who was clearly thirsty for our entrée choices. And let me pause here to say this: the service at Puertas is impeccable. Not "good," not "attentive," not "friendly." Impeccable. The kind of service where the staff moves with the precision of a well‑rehearsed ballet -- present but never intrusive, efficient without rushing you, warm without hovering. Every detail was handled with a level of professionalism that most restaurants only dream about. We ordered ceviche to share, I chose the Carne Asada, and The Man went for the Bandeja Paisa Colombiana -- a dish so large it should come with a legal disclaimer. What I forgot to mention is that Puertas had a live Latin band playing the entire time. Yes, live music. At dinner. In Bay Ridge. I nearly shed a tear. The ceviche arrived in five minutes, served with plantain patties and a need for a quick stir to distribute the seasoning. It was tasty -- bright, fresh, flavorful -- but let's be honest: it wasn't ceviche. True ceviche is raw fish "cooked" by citrus. This fish had clearly been cooked beforehand, likely to avoid lawsuits from people who fake food poisoning faster than they reach for Pepto Bismol. It's a shame, because a restaurant as talented as Puertas deserves the freedom to serve the real thing without fear of someone weaponizing a stomachache. But I digress. Entrées arrived about ten minutes later -- fast, efficient, and accompanied by music so good I briefly considered quitting my job to follow the band on tour. My Carne Asada was a beautifully grilled skirt steak topped with chimichurri, then topped again with crispy potato strings, all resting on mashed potatoes so smooth and flavorful they could convert a non‑believer. And I'm a mashed‑potato snob. The Man's Bandeja Paisa Colombiana was a platter large enough to feed a family of four, but he approached it like a man possessed -- eyes rolled back, no talking, no thinking, just pure blissful shoveling. Portions were enormous, so naturally we took home half the restaurant. Dessert was a religious experience. I ordered crème brûlée; The Man ordered tres leches cake. Two espressos joined the table, and suddenly everything in life made sense. The desserts were perfect -- rich, balanced, and absolutely worth the calories. The bill came to $184 before tip, and frankly, Puertas could have charged more. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the live music -- it was a five‑star experience without question. Puertas isn't just a restaurant. It's a full sensory event. A celebration. A place that knows exactly what it's doing and does it exceptionally well. Bay Ridge just got a new star, and I cannot wait to go back.

As for the food taste - disappointed!! order the fried chicken - tender but soggy not crunchy or crispy. service - once u are seated it is hard to find them. they will not come by and see if we need anything else. i really didnt want to tip them. but i still did.
