As entrees, my husband got the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and I got the salmon con esquites. Both dishes were good but the salmon was better. For dessert we had churros with caramel sauce. Gem of a restaurant in Bensonhurst. Great, flavorful dishes that are very shareable. I ordered fish tacos, guacamole, flautas, shrimp ceviche, and chicken tacos. None of these dishes disappointed. The guacamole was super creamy and not too heavily spiced which really allowed us to enjoy the fresh avocados. The restaurant is clean, waitstaff were attentive, and definitely gets more lively on the weekends as I sometimes pass by and catch live bands playing. My only complaint is that the prices are a little more expensive, but flavors definitely match. I came here last night with my fiancé for the first time and everything about this restaurant was amazing. As soon as we came in the staff directed us to our seats. Unfortunately we had chosen a slightly wobbly table but that was quickly fixed by a very attentive staff member. Food was amazing. Music was great. The outdoor seating area was very nice. We had ordered an esquite (which was generous portioned!), steak tacos, green enchiladas, and 2 frozen margaritas. By then end of our meal I had barely touched my margarita (just because I don't typically drink and I had changed my mind on having it) but our waiter asked if there had been anything wrong with it. I had said no. I did appreciate the effort to go above and beyond. Not a lot of restaurants would do this much for their customers. I usually enjoy coming here. Today, I stood outside and the water kept coming but after my food was done, nobody came to see if I needed anything else and was waiting to order a cocktail. After 40 minutes of waiting patiently, I asked for the check to leave. I am hoping to upgrade this to a 5 next time. Went there to celebrate Cinco De Mayo.Called a week prior to make reservations and was told they did not accept reservations for this day. When we arrived there were a few empty tables but we were told there was a 30 minute wait. When asked about the empty tables I was told that they were reserved. I explained I was told there were not reservations taken. It didn't seem to matter. We orders drinks. One came , one margarita did not. Decided to give this spot a try for brunch on a Sunday. We arrived about an hour after they opened. The restaurant was really nice, but it all went downhill after being seated. We were greeted by a young man who told us to sit wherever we wanted. After about 10 mins he came to the table and began taking our orders. We noticed something off when he returned to the table and asked us to repeat the order, he wreaked of alcohol! He returns to try to enter the order into the system, walks back to the table and said he has to get our order again, this time writing it down on a new piece of paper. We complied. He goes to another table and begins taking their order then RETURNS TO OUR TABLE and said "HI ARE U GUYS READY TO ORDER!?" I seriously looked around for cameras because we thought we were on TV getting pranked. We stated we already ordered and we were awaiting the drinks. He was completely drunk! After about 15 minutes, we saw another waiter walking towards our table with white sangrias in each hand, spilling and splashing it all over the place. He was EVEN MORE DRUNK THAN OUR WAITER! We told him we didn't order that and it was for the couple next to us, he literally turned around and walked back towards the bar and started sipping on the drinks! The couple next to us looked confused and were in awe! We realized it was already over 40 minutes and we didn't even get water. It was literally us and two more groups of diners in the restaurant. We asked the waiter to speak to the manager. He said ok then basically never returned. Those waiters were having the kind of fun we wanted to have lol! We simply left at that point! Really enjoyed this place. The food is excellent. Had steak tacos, which has a layer of grilled cheese on the bottom. Chorizo nachos, so nice to enjoy with a companion. Red and white sangria was good too. I like the white sangria a bit more because it was sweeter, but if you want to feel good, drink the red. We had churros too, this wasn't on the menu. These were so fresh and crispy. So fresh and good, it comes with sauce too, but I like it plain. The staffs are all so friendly and attentive. The mural paintings are beautiful and has a wonderful vibe overall. The service is always impeccable. Waitresses are super attentive, quick, and friendly. They'll take the time to explain the menu and specials & check in to see if you need anything. Taco salad with chicken: this is a take-out only item, but the waitress said I could order it because the kitchen wasn't busy at the time. I loveeee this dish. The shell is crunchy but also flaky at the same time. The salad is fresh and the chicken is well seasoned. So delicious! Horchata: one of my favorite horchatas in NY! I love how creamy and refreshing theirs is, it's not watered down like other places Carnitas: we enjoyed how juicy the carnitas were and the tangy orange habanero sauce Carne asada tacos: OMG these are a home run. Ever since I've had them, I've been thinking about them everyday. The steak is tender and well-seasoned. I am in loveee with the cheese that they incorporate into the taco. We went to Viva Mexico after a work event last night, the food was delicious, the ambiance was absolutely adorable and the service was phenomenal! We were having such a great time, they never made us feel rushed, and even at closing they offered a last round and never made us feel pushed out of the door. The server was so funny and attentive. I hate when going to other restaurants and the guacamole is cold out of the fridge. I ordered a Sangria which was really good. I had the carne asada tacos and my husband had the chicken enchiladas. I told our waiter those were the best tacos I have had in a long time. The steak was marinated so well and so tender. Hubby said his enchiladas were amazing and I agreed after having a bite lol. The vibe is super friendly, relaxed and fun. It is a busy place but you don't feel rushed and definitely can have a nice dinner with your family or celebrate your birthday. The stuff is really good at their job, everybody is smiling, friendly, everyone is helping you and knows everything about the menu. This place has been a neighborhood staple for many years and it's known for consistently serving fresh, delicious food, full of authentic flavor, welcoming vibe and friendly, courteous staff. I was so impressed by their "Salmon Con Esquites" dish that I had it twice in the same week which is absolutely unusual for me. Big chunk of marinated salmon fillet is pan seared and served on the bed of delicious Esquites, which are a popular Mexican snack made from corn mixed with creamy mayonesa (mayonnaise), freshly crumbled cotija cheese, lime juice, and chili powder. Each forkful of esquites is filled with a creamy, salty, tangy and slightly spicy bite that's incredibly tasty and combining it with juicy, flavorful salmon makes it truly addicting and will keep you coming back for more. Queso (cheese) quesadilla was full of melty savory cheese, served with freshly made, impeccable guacamole and sour cream. Churros were delectable-light, airy, crunchy, coated by yummy cinnamon sugar and made a perfect conclusion for an amazing meal and Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus Iced Tea) was exactly as it was supposed to be- sweet, tart, delicious and very refreshing all at the same time. Came here yesterday for an early dinner on a recommendation from a neighbor and was not disappointed. The place is bright and colorful. Lupe, our server was very helpful and answered all our questions. We started with a freshly made chunky guacamole and it was terrific. We washed it down with two Margaritas. We then went for 2 orders of Tacos: one shrimp and the other, steak. We switched one for the other and they were absolutely delicious. We then shared a jumbo shrimp Fajita. It came sizzling with all the fresh peppers, onions and other veggies on top. It also came with the rice and beans, and we made our own tacos with all of it and enjoyed it immensely.
