I always passed by this restaurant but never got to try it. So I decided to do takeout by seamless. We order different kind of meat soft tacos and even shrimp tacos and some guacamole and chips. The delivery came pretty fast. It took about 30 minutes. The chips and guacamole was fresh. Shrimp tacos are good. The pork tacos was good but has a bone in my meat. This new Mexican restaurant in Sheepshead Bay feels really homey. The cook/waitress was super nice, but the cashier? Not so much. No greeting, no thank you--just a bit of a cold vibe. I always get takeout, and so far I've tried the chicken burrito and three tacos (chipotle chicken, fried pork, and regular chicken). The burrito was good, but there were way too many beans in it for my taste. It kind of drowned out the other flavors. Now, the chipotle chicken taco? Amazing! So flavorful, and the shredded chicken was perfectly tender. That's definitely my go-to. The fried pork taco was alright but kind of bland, and the chicken taco was really dry and lacking seasoning. I had to add it to my burrito just to make it edible. I'll be back for that chipotle chicken taco, though. I ordered for the first time here because I wanted tacos with shrimp for Good Friday. I started out with the guacamole de la casa which came in a nice sized container. It was wonderful, full of flavor, not heavy on the lime. It came with nachos which were crispy and the perfect item to dip the guacamole. I ordered the 2 tostaditos Mexico cameron. It was some of the most amazing thing I've eaten in a long time. The shell was crispy. Full of shrimp, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, cream, and cheese. Try it you will not be disappointed. So much food I had them over two meals! There are so many other dishes I really want to try and can't wait to experience more! We really wanted to like Taquitos Mexico, but it was far from the best local Mexican food we've had. We decided to try Taquitos because there was an online deal and Taquitos was one of the participating restaurants. I dropped in on a Sunday afternoon for a pickup and, as expected, it was pretty quiet. The restaurant was small and had only a few tables to boot. The menu was pretty typical of Mexican restaurants - entrees, tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary. We decided to order a few items to try though in hopes that we had found another gem of a restaurant in the neighborhood. We ended up with the Enchiladas lunch special with steak, Chuletas lunch special and multiple soft tacos. We pretty much ran through the entire menu of different meat choices for the tacos - chicken, chipotle chicken, spicy pork, fried pork, steak, chorizo. I wouldn't say our hopes were high, but we expected A LOT better. Disappointed is an understatement about how we felt about all of the food. Honestly, it was hard to decipher between any of the meats because all of them were extremely dry and overcooked. Typically, you can say the chicken or steak or pork is dry, but not only were they overly dry to the point they had no flavor or texture, the chorizo was shockingly dry too. None of the meats had any juices what so ever. Not one drop of oil from the meats in any of the tacos or entrees. Besides the tacos being very underwhelming, the Chuleta lunch special was a massive disappointment. It was literally 2 pieces of dry fried pork placed into a tray with rice and beans. It was supposed to be served with onions, but there were none. There was nothing else other than just the fried pork. In this day and age, during a pandemic, when restaurants have been hit hard, I hate to write negative reviews, but this one couldn't be avoided. The food was just not good and, hopefully, they will read this and it will serve as motivation for them to improve on the food, specifically not overcook it. I am so excited that this cute spot opened up near us. My neighbor and I decided to make the trek over the weekend to get some grub. When we arrived we noticed there was no letter grade displayed but, the restaurant was very clean. There was no one other than staff in the restaurant when we arrived but, they had a steady stream of customers and deliveries while we were eating. My neighbor ordered a grilled chicken flour quesadilla. It came with four pieces and an order of guac. She had asked if the guac had any tomatoes and the staff said no. However, when she got her food, the guac was loaded with tomatoes. She also tried Horchata for the first time and thought it was interesting. Overall, she found the food delicious. I ordered a chicken tinga flour quesadilla, chicken empanada, and chicken tinga taco. The chicken empanada ($3.50) looked like a chulpa but, it was tasty. I like the crispy shell. I got the chicken taco ($3.25) with everything and thought it was delicious especially with their homemade sauces. The chicken tinga quesadilla ($8.25) was delicious and flavorful. Originally, I asked if I can choose what type of meat goes on the quesadilla (grilled versus chicken tinga) and the lady said no and then she said yes but it would be extra. I checked my receipt and didn't notice an extra charge. The restaurant serves up tasty food at an affordable prices. However, I noticed that if you ask questions or need to make adjustments, they are not very useful at all. During the weekday, they have lunch special offers. EVERY SINGLE ITEM had zero taste - NADA SABOR. Y'all are serving Mexican food - how was there was no salt or depth of seasoning anywhere?! The sad little salsas that came on the side did absolutely nothing to elevate the dishes. While the burritos were nicely stuffed, they didn't use fresh veggies and basically loaded basic supermarket mixed veggies at *each end* of the burritos, instead of throughout - talk about adding insult to injury. The shrimp in the quesadillas were not seasoned and tasted old. The chicken tacos were just blah, as was the side of rice and beans. For a total of $73, you'd think you were getting amazing food - sike! The only item that was good were the fries - not too oily and with a nice crunch. We shared the porky tacos, birria special and spicy al pastor duo. Their birria is a heavy on tomato and paprika- not exactly a bad thing but different. In the end I find myself downing it. The birria tacos were generous in pulled juicy meat with a lot of cheese. More generous in the portions than their actual flavor in my opinion. The porky tacos were flavorful and charred with a bit of onions and cilantro and queso fresco. Personally would've loved much more minced onions & cilantro. The al pastor was dried and not spicy. Ordered takeout from here a few times when we were in the mood for something hearty and flavorful. The guacamole was great, fresh and served with addictive crunchy tortilla chips. Enjoyed the fish tacos, which came in a set of 3, served with pico de gallo and slices of avocado. Tried the enchiladas on another occasion, but did not care so much for the sauce; my husband liked the dish though so we swapped entrees. I preferred the flavor of the chimichanga, but could do with less beans; it was definitely a carb overload and there was no way I could finish it by myself. This spot is a new addition to the nearby neighborhoods. It's super small inside but I usually take my orders to go even before the pandemic. My favorite tacos in Brooklyn would have to be tacos Lupitas but this place was actually surprisingly good too! Their tacos come in two varieties, either regular (cilantro and onion) or with everything (lettuce, cheese, etc). I definitely prefer the regular since that's classic tacos to me but I've had the ones with everything before. They're good just unnecessary. I really enjoy their al pastor tacos, extremely flavorful with a hint of sweetness. Their chorizo is my second go-to but for some reason it's a lot spicier than all the other taco trucks and places I've had. These tacos are also a bit bigger than the ones I get from Lupita's or Tacos el Bronco. I've also ordered their chicken enchiladas before and I thought they were okay. Green sauce was really good though. I recently decided to try their chicken empanada and this was the first time I was disappointed with something I got. It wasn't what I expected because it didn't look like an empanada at all... it wasn't sealed and it was stuffed with a bunch of cheese and other fillings. On top of that the meat was dry and I had to smother the "empanada" with sauce to even be able to eat it. Stay away from empanadas from here. Overall, price point is quite good for the size of the taco you get and definitely for the convenience of location for those who live around the area. METAL PIECE IN THE FOOD !! We frequently order from this place , but tonight when we ordered and bit into the food, there was a huge piece of metal inside the enchiladas. I had to take my husband to seek medical care because he cut his gum and was bleeding, he ended up needing antibiotics and a tetanus shot.
