I always passed by this restaurant but never got to try it. So I decided to do takeout by seamless. We order different kind of meat soft tacos and even shrimp tacos and some guacamole and chips. The delivery came pretty fast. It took about 30 minutes. The chips and guacamole was fresh. Shrimp tacos are good. The pork tacos was good but has a bone in my meat. For chipotle chicken and chicken was a little dry but good. I will try again next time to order something different.

A quaint authentic Mexican restaurant with a comfortable, intimate ambiance. They had a regular singing karaoke, but open to customers too. The service was attentive and pleasant, and most importantly the food was delicious AND authentic! The tamales were the best! Loved the nachos which had plenty of meat, and the quesadilla was stuffed with carne too! I definitely recommend this place if looking for really good Mexican food!

Enchiladas de Mole Poblano

Ordered the enchiladas de mole poblano and received food poisoning from it, didn't even eat most of it and it still messed up my stomach. Not good.

Love this authentic and delicious restaurant. Friendly staff and great value. The carnitas tacos are the best I've had.

We really wanted to like Taquitos Mexico, but it was far from the best local Mexican food we've had. We decided to try Taquitos because there was an online deal and Taquitos was one of the participating restaurants. I dropped in on a Sunday afternoon for a pickup and, as expected, it was pretty quiet. The restaurant was small and had only a few tables to boot. The menu was pretty typical of Mexican restaurants - entrees, tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary. We decided to order a few items to try though in hopes that we had found another gem of a restaurant in the neighborhood. We ended up with the Enchiladas lunch special with steak, Chuletas lunch special and multiple soft tacos. We pretty much ran through the entire menu of different meat choices for the tacos - chicken, chipotle chicken, spicy pork, fried pork, steak, chorizo. I wouldn't say our hopes were high, but we expected A LOT better. Disappointed is an understatement about how we felt about all of the food. Honestly, it was hard to decipher between any of the meats because all of them were extremely dry and overcooked. Typically, you can say the chicken or steak or pork is dry, but not only were they overly dry to the point they had no flavor or texture, the chorizo was shockingly dry too. None of the meats had any juices what so ever. Not one drop of oil from the meats in any of the tacos or entrees. Besides the tacos being very underwhelming, the Chuleta lunch special was a massive disappointment. It was literally 2 pieces of dry fried pork placed into a tray with rice and beans. It was supposed to be served with onions, but there were none. There was nothing else other than just the fried pork. In this day and age, during a pandemic, when restaurants have been hit hard, I hate to write negative reviews, but this one couldn't be avoided. The food was just not good and, hopefully, they will read this and it will serve as motivation for them to improve on the food, specifically not overcook it. Maybe I will come back and it will be different, but our first experience eating from here was disastrous.

Chicken Empanada

I am so excited that this cute spot opened up near us. My neighbor and I decided to make the trek over the weekend to get some grub. When we arrived we noticed there was no letter grade displayed but, the restaurant was very clean. There was no one other than staff in the restaurant when we arrived but, they had a steady stream of customers and deliveries while we were eating. My neighbor ordered a grilled chicken flour quesadilla. It came with four pieces and an order of guac. She had asked if the guac had any tomatoes and the staff said no. However, when she got her food, the guac was loaded with tomatoes. She also tried Horchata for the first time and thought it was interesting. Overall, she found the food delicious. I ordered a chicken tinga flour quesadilla, chicken empanada, and chicken tinga taco. The chicken empanada ($3.50) looked like a chulpa but, it was tasty. I like the crispy shell. I got the chicken taco ($3.25) with everything and thought it was delicious especially with their homemade sauces. The chicken tinga quesadilla ($8.25) was delicious and flavorful. Originally, I asked if I can choose what type of meat goes on the quesadilla (grilled versus chicken tinga) and the lady said no and then she said yes but it would be extra. I checked my receipt and didn't notice an extra charge. The restaurant serves up tasty food at an affordable prices. However, I noticed that if you ask questions or need to make adjustments, they are not very useful at all. During the weekday, they have lunch special offers. The restaurant had AC and a small but, clean bathroom.

Shrimp quesadillas - save your time & money
Nelle C.

TL;dr - just save your money. The food is tasteless! Details: Ordering by phone on a Friday afternoon was easy, but should have known something was amiss when he said 15-20 minutes later, our food would be ready for pickup. We ordered: 3 veggie burritos 2 shrimp quesadillas 3 chicken tacos con todo 2 orders of fries 1 order of rice and beans The ONLY item worth our money and tastebuds were the fries. EVERY SINGLE ITEM had zero taste - NADA SABOR. Y'all are serving Mexican food - how was there was no salt or depth of seasoning anywhere?! The sad little salsas that came on the side did absolutely nothing to elevate the dishes. While the burritos were nicely stuffed, they didn't use fresh veggies and basically loaded basic supermarket mixed veggies at *each end* of the burritos, instead of throughout - talk about adding insult to injury. The shrimp in the quesadillas were not seasoned and tasted old. The chicken tacos were just blah, as was the side of rice and beans. For a total of $73, you'd think you were getting amazing food - sike! The only item that was good were the fries - not too oily and with a nice crunch. But you can get good fries lots of other places. You know how you look forward to a nice Friday night dinner that'll leave you full and swooning with each bite? Yeah no - not gonna get that here. i will not be back - huge disappointment.

ICE CUBE CHARGE

Today, 5/31, we ate here for the last time. Since discovering this restaurant, this was our 4th visit in the past two months. We ordered exactly what we always order: one appetizer, two main dishes and two cans of soda. When e got the bill we were charged $2 for the glasses of ice we always requested for our sodas. When we brought this to the manager's attention he refused to remove it. We told him how we had spread the word about the restaurant to our friends and now that we would no longer be customers we would explain why to them. He said "no problem" as we walked out

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.

4.4 and rounded up. Ambiance 4 stars…read more Food 5 stars. Service 4.3 stars. AMBIANCE: Walking to the restaurant from the subway, it's located on an unassuming block at the corner of 4th St and Havemeyer in Williamsburg, front of store doesn't particularly stand out. Walking in they've decorated with creative, crafty (in a good way) touches--the multitude of ropes draped from the ceiling add dimension to the ceiling and the bar back wall is composed of wood pieces forming a multi-colored herringbone pattern. Textured glass pendant lights hanging from the ceiling throw mini geometric patterns across the dark walls, and vibrant canvas artworks add pictorial interest along the walls. FOOD: YUM. I can see why this place was jam packed on a Saturday night, and reservations are needed. Strong recommendation for their tasting menu at $58 pp, what a delightful meal! 8 sharing dishes and 3 desserts were perfect for a party of five, and drinks are separate though you can add a cocktail pairing for $47. For each main they provide a serving per person, and the desserts are shared. I came hungry and was so full by the end of the meal--everything was delicious! - grapefruit guacamole w/house-made chips: the grapefruit chunks were "meaty" and surprisingly went really well with the guac, it added a different citrus element than the usual lime. Comes with a small bowl of maybe 6-7 chips and we asked for two chips refills since the chips to guac and salsa ratio was low. - spicy faroe islands' salmon tartar: tasty and I liked the latin flavors and corn, snow peas, a touch of wasabi. Flavors of the sesame-soy-truffle-lemon vin and crema got a little muddled. Relatively more "generic" dish of the evening though I was here for it! Any dish with fresh tender salmon, I can't complain. - blue crab and carrot tostada, generous shredded crab salad on top of freshly crisp blue corn tortilla. Topped with pumpkin seeds, dill, cilantro, and saffron-orange aioli. - three cheese & artichoke 'queso fundido': served in a very hot ceramic pot and super melty and delicious, eaten with the fluffy grilled pita and green apple slices + salsa. One of the top picks of the evening. - roasted bone marrow and chorizo, served as tacos with fresh blue corn tortillas, and added a sprinkle of pickled onions--does that sound amazing? Bc it was AAHMAZING. - spicy chipotle-guajillo shimp 'diablo' (not spicy): served with pumpkin tortillas and three accompaniments on the side--mushroom chile crisp, horseradish crema, celery 'salsa macha". Part 2 to make your own tacos was another hit! Our entire table agreed if they sold the sauce for the shrimp we'd all buy it. - heritage pork osso bucco 'carnitas' with Fall-spiced black mole, sour cherry mostardo, calabrian chile pesto: cue drooling now. This part 3 of the tacos was served on pumpkin tortillas; the meat was practically falling off the bone, tender, juicy and flavorful. - buffalo-style com 'elote: sooo good too! A little messier to eat since it comes drizzled with spicy hot sauce butter, feta, lime aioli, cilantro, though totally worth it! - Desserts: --green tea matcha churros: comes with two little pots of spiced mexican chocolate & passion fruit sauce. Warm, sugary and crisp without being too sweet. --pumpkin spiced-vanilla flan: topped with sour cherries, cocoa nibs & toasted seed 'trail mix", if you love flan you'll love this, so smooth and creamy with a bit of crunch and tang from the cherries. --pistachio tres leches cake with cream cheese frosting, raspberry, using an olive oil cake: we all agreed this was probably the best tres leches we've ever had. The pistachio nuttiness and the creaminess from the milks paired well. SERVICE: Very friendly and attentive service though it was very loud in the restaurant and they had to really shout. There was a delay in the middle of our meal I think bc kitchen was slammed, after the entree we waited about 35 min for our desserts. Considering they limited the seating to 2 hours and about half of our party arrived 20 min late, and accounting for the long wait pre-dessert, they did us solid by extending our table time by about an hour in total. Also great that they brought the first dessert out with a candle for my friend's birthday.
