Very disappointed with my delivery experience from Taquitos Mexico. I seen good reviews so I decided to order lunch from here. Granted, it is Cinco de Mayo, so I'm sure every Mexican spot is busy, but that is not an excuse or exception for the food to taste bad. For starters The delivery took 1.5 Hours for (2) Tostadas, grilled cebollines & rice and beans.. Secondly I love carne enchiladas but I will never be ordering from here again. The pieces of meat were burnt and hard. Thirdly - I LOVE SOGGY tostadas (SAID NO ONE EVER) they broke on me the second I picked them up to take a bite.. The rice was MEH but the beans were pretty tasty though. The food was just MEDiOCRE! I visited Taquitos Mexico on Avenue X in Brooklyn, and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. I ordered birria tacos expecting them to be rich and flavorful, but they had no cheese, no seasoning, and very little taste. The consommé came without a spoon, so I couldn't enjoy it properly. I also ordered a shrimp cocktail and asked for Valentina or Cholula sauce, but it took a long time before it arrived. I even asked for cream with the chips and salsa (extra charge), but it wasn't brought out until after I had already finished my main dish. On top of that, I ordered chicken wings to go -- and they never included them in my order. When I asked for the check, the waitress asked me to pay right away without showing me the bill first, which felt unprofessional. The waitress herself was kind and sweet, but she clearly needs more experience or some extra help, because the service felt disorganized. We were promptly seated in the back room (sort of a bummer because the band was in the front room)! Food We ordered flautas de pollo and the house guacamole as appetizers. Portions were generous and delicious. Both tasted fresh and authentic. The guacamole was a tad plain, but I was okay with that. I can see some looking to add salt/ lime juice. For mains, I had the bistec a la mexicana and my husband had the bistec tampinqueña. Again generous portions and tasty. Everything seemed fresh. Ambiance Taquitos Mexico was lively for sure. With the mariachi band, it was quite loud. The restaurant was full when we arrived and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The front room is where all the entertainment is. The mariachi band, the lively diners, etc. The back room is better for families with kids or those preferring something quieter. Restaurant was well maintained. Service When we arrived the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. I saw two waitresses through there may have been three. Service was a little slow to start but our waitress made up for it and you could tell they were trying. Overall I'll be back. The flavor here is dangerous. Dangerous to my wallet and dangerous to my waistline. I generally stick to the tacos and the burritos and you have many options that you can't go wrong with. This place has a good atmosphere with great music that allows you to have a conversation with whoever you're dining with. The wait staff don't check in on you too much, allowing you to enjoy your meal, but they are always easily available. The true danger of this place is their salsa. They manage to imbalance the salsa in a way that allows it to burn, but is sweet. This salsa has made me go from not generally enjoying spicy foods to me trying a bit of spicy with almost every meal. Everyone I've brought here loves their salsa. It burns, it's sweet, and it's addicting. read more

Ordered two quesadillas - one steak and one chicken for delivery yesterday and was very pleased. Delivery was very prompt and friendly and quesadillas really hit the spot. Steak was good but a little bit chewy. Probably from the transit time. Still good, but we just liked the chicken more. I ordered tacos thinking it'd be a good snack for me and my friends. The tacos they serve are huge. They pack the tacos with a lot of meat. For three dollars a taco, I wish I could eat more but they're too filling. The salsa they give with the tacos is a little spicy. This is a solid delivery spot. We were craving Mexican food, and after being disappointed with other options nearby, we decided to give this one a try. First up we're the nachos with chicken. These arrived soggy, as would be expected, but the flavors were all there. They're made with real cheese and all the fixins like beans and jalapeños. This was pretty filling. I can't have dairy but I tried a few bites after picking off the cheese and I was jealous I couldn't have more. We also ordered the tacos poblanos (beef) on soft tortillas. The meat was good and the order came with a side of salsa. Nothing too crazy but good. I also tried the tamales oaxaquenos made with corn meal. These were not the tamales I'm used to but I'm happy I tried them out. The corn meal itself was also little too salty for my taste. Overall, happy with delivery from this place. Looking at my check ins you can see that I come very frequently. I come like 2-3 times every two weeks. It's usually easy to find a table. They have like ~40 seats. They literally took up the adjacent store to use for seating. Couple of years ago it was only the left store with less than ten seats. Everyone gets free chips and salsa when you sit down. The salsa and chips both seem homemade. It's quite fresh and keeps you occupied when waiting. Sometimes there's a longer wait from a lot of online orders. I swear I only eat the same few things. I eat chicken quesadilla 75% of the time, beef quesadilla 20% of the time, and enchilada with mole sauce the rest of the time. You choose between corn and flour tortilla for the quesadillas. I like flour more. It's the soft light colored one, different than what they use for tacos. I like this version more. It's a bigger size and they cut it into quarters. Flour tortilla version comes with guac which sometimes has more or less lettuce. Although more lettuce dilutes the guac, a reasonable amount makes the dish more fresh. The corn tortilla is yellow and comes in three pockets. It seems to be deep fried, too dry too oily for my preference Their chicken is white meat but often very juicy and tender. They're not always perfect but consistent enough for me to keep ordering it. I go for beef whenever I'm feeling something with stronger meat flavor or saltier Enchilada mole. I've never had mole sauce before this place so I have nothing to compare to. I like how it's earthy with sweetness with slight spiciness As with most dishes this comes with rice and beans, quite filling. My family really likes getting their tacos with everything which comes with onions, cilantro, lettuce, tomato, cream cheese, and cheese. They like chipotle chicken and fried pork as toppings. The shrimp is more expensive but quite worth considering the freshness and portion. The taco salad is a big bowl made out of taco chips with the usual meat, beans, tomato, onion, cheese. I don't like this because I don't want to eat a taco chip bowl but I feel wasteful if I don't We've tried soups before too. The order of spiciness would be chicken, green, red tripe Desserts Flan - very nice cinnamon flavor with a thin caramel sauce. The light sauce adds good moisture Coconut flan - I like this more than the regular version because not only are there coconut shreds inside, it seems like they used coconut milk when making it too. The coconut makes the dessert lighter Tres leches - it's normal but cake is slightly too rough Tiramisu - the chocolate and expresso and cream components are very homey. I would prefer it less sweet but still good. The convenience, flavors, freshness, price all make it worth 4.5* What's missing is an additional sophistication to the dish or something outstanding that makes me crave it so much I daydream about it read more

This is my go-to spot for Mexican food in the area. I always order take out from here. I have dined inside the restaurant a few times since they renovated the restaurant and added more seatings. The service is pretty slow and I had a couple of instances where the waitress didn't speak English. I have tried a few things on the menu and the empanada and steak quesadilla have to be my favorite. The empanada is different from most that I have tried. It comes with chicken, mushroom, lettuce, tomato and cheese. It is only good when it's hot so don't wait to eat this because the shell hardens up over time. The steak quesadilla comes with a side of guacamole and it is so flavorful. Absolutely amazing!!! We stopped by yesterday for a dinner on the way to see Dyker Heights Christmas Lights . The place is not big, but very cozy and clean! They have Christmas tree decorated with candies( very cute) . Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, every time she was coming by with a smile : what a great addition to the service: thank you!!! This is easily my next favorite Mexican joint in Brooklyn, Next to Rico's tacos on Sunset. Ricos always give me a little bit of upset stomach, possibly a little more fatty. We ordered the meat combo ($25) and it was a full plate of meats (perfectly cooked medium rare flank steak, chorizo sausage, cheese, and pork chop). Ordered also taco salad (huge) tostadas, taquitos, empanadas. My least favorite was the empanadas. Everything else was delicious and the people in this restaurant was very attentive. New taco joint! Ordered the parrillada para which was for 2 people because I was hungry when it came it didn't feel like it was for 2 people however. The meat seemed thin and when I looked at my friends plate which was the molcajete mar y tierra it felt a bit short. The meat in that dish seemed to be thicker cut. Seasoning was ok. Staff was a little hard to communicate with but she was courteous and tried. Over an average experience dining in however I heard the burritos are pretty good. I often have a taste for Mexican cuisine, but living in the city you know the taste and authenticity can be vastly different depending on where you go. Having been to Mexico, I have only furthered my understanding of this cuisine, but cursed myself with not being able to settle for less. Here in Brooklyn, is one of the few places, where everything is present in one, great food, great service, and real deal Mexican dishes. Going for what seemed like one of their known for dishes, i had ordered the Platillo Especial. My meal started with chips and a tangy spicy salsa, and before I knew it, salsa verde, hot tortillas, rice and beans, and a huge steaming plate of food. The steak was tender and flavorful, seasoned very well along with the peppers. There was a mild sauce on everything that I really caught with the shrimp that put everything together. Little by little, fajita there, steak and beans bite here, and by the time it was all gone, I was already contemplating the next time I can make it out here. Impeccable service. I liked the waiter and thought the food was well portioned and came out hot. The free chips and salsa were amazing. The chips were crunchy abdominal none of them were burnt. The salsa was on the thinner side but was full of flavor /slightly spicy. These were actually the highlight of the meal. We ordered the sweet plantains; they were cut into thinner slices than what I'm used to, and were dry on the outside. Tasted fine, but nothing memorable. The gordita was $2.75 and I thought it was ok for the price. It's a bit hefty due to the bulk of the dough which makes it dense. There's minced chicharrons, lettuce, cheese and cream. Unfortunately it lacked flavor and the dough just takes over. The cheese lacks any yang, which is surprising because it's queso fresco. My tacos with everything were ok. The 'everything' tacos are $3, but goat meat and tongue are .50 extra. The queso they use isn't very good, so I suggest not getting the everything and sticking to a regular taco. The shredded goat meat was dry and tough but had some good flavor. The tongue came in cubes and were tender but lacked seasoning. Each tortilla came with two tortillas. Also comes with a side of limes and radishes. The bf ordered a taco salad, something I've never seen before. It was huge! The outside is crispy fried dough and inside is a bunch of romaine lettuce, cheese, guacamole, black beans, salsa and the meat you choose. You get probably two tacos equivalent of meat. Overall this thing is hefty. The coconut flan was more custard than silky textured, but the flavors were good! I think this place is worth checking out. It's not the most amazing taco place I've been to, but there's great service and some darn good tortilla chips. I'd like to try the mole and other entree style items. read more

Service, no comment because I always get mine to go since I live nearby (I prefer eating in front on my tv). I love their guacamole !! sadly the price keep increasing over the years. I wish they have a smaller size so I could order both guacamole & salsa. If you dine in, the portion is smaller for those two items. If you get it to go, the portion is more but it's too much for an appetizer (but I would smear guacamole on anything I could). My to go to order is Flautas de Bistec, Guacamole, Quesadillas, Taco Salad, Chimichanga & Tacos. Food is always fresh!! But for the quesadillas, I saw people have guacamole with theirs and I never get mine with it (even I don't order a side of guacamole).
