Drove around for awhile looking for food and came across this little place. Full bar and tried the house margaritas which were small and tart. Chips and salsa are not complimentary and i need chips with my Mexican meal so we ended up ordering the guac with chips. Very good guac and chips but personally I think chips and salsa should be complimentary!!! We order steak tacos that were small but good enchiladas verde (i ordered cheese but they brought me chicken) and nachos that were good but small portions. Hidden gem alert. It was Saturday we were out shopping not to far from here. We had a craving for good Mexican. Google brought us here. They had happy hour on a Saturday. Is there even more to say lol. Great options and fantastic deasl. I started with a red sangria then switched over to margarita. They were on point! We did an order of nachos and wings from the happy hour menu both were extremely good also nice portions for the discount. For my main i did a shrimp quesidilla. Good amount of grilled chunks of shrimp throughout. We were so full we took the quesidilla to go lol. I shall return . The service was spot on. Love their burrito bowls! The meat, cheese, and guac are satisfyingly separated by color. The cheese is slightly melted and the guac gives it a nice fresh bite. Oddly though, how good their bowls taste are dependent on what meat you get. Chorizo has been my favorite, chicken my least. Also, the worker there was very friendly and accommodating! I ordered the chicken enchiladas with red sauce and the chicken chimichangas. Unfortunately, this was some of the most disappointing Mexican food I've ever had. The red sauce lacked seasoning, and the chimichangas were bland with no real flavor. Also, I've never understood why some restaurants default to black beans, traditional Mexican meals are typically served with pinto beans, which have much more flavor and authenticity. read more

Decent food. Had a mixture of feelings. There were some tasty elements but overall we were just soso about it. We got a steak burrito that had a not great tortilla and did not enjoy the steak much. The rest of the innards were tasty. Got the chicken mole, was pretty basic and the sauce was a little lacking. Definitely not worth the price tag as the rice that came with it was also overcooked. Kids chicken quesadilla was on point. Multiple cheeses and chicken wasn't over cooked. Easily the best item we got from the menu. I have to say, this wasn't the best mexican food i've had. But, taking into consideration covid and everything the 3 that I thought they deserved turned into a 4. The chilaquiles verdes was too soggy by the time it was delivered (definitely not their fault, it's just a matter of distance tbh) The sauce was good but the texture was a bit lacking. I haven't had good tortas in Brooklyn except for this one place. My favorite torta has to be from el buen gusta restaraunt all the way in queens. Tortas there are PACKED and just the right flavor. They use to be in Brooklyn but moved to queens. With that said, I wasn't a fan of this torta. I got the milanesa de pollo torta. I think the chicken couldve been thicker and there could've been more beans. Because of that, the flavor was lacking. Update: The restaraunt called to try to improve themselves which was very inspiring to me. Based off of my review, they said they can try to make the texture soft, less soggy, etc... and basically accommodate the customer's needs upon request. I tried their birria tacos-$15 for 3 and the birria soup $7 and it wasn't up to par. The beef was bland. Very bland and no sauce for the tacos. Need sauce. read more

Wow just wow. Came here with my family. Started with salsa and guacamole. The salsa was delicious and authentic. It wasn't the usual liquid chopped tomatoes. It was something different and we couldn't stop eating it. I had a chorizo burrito but I made it into a bowl without the tortilla. That was good. And finally, the red sauce was fiery and hot but not too much and I have a good tolerance for spice. The chips and salsa (10$) were delicious. Chips were hot and fried. The salsa is a fresh tomatillo salsa that's different from the salsas on the table. The birria quesadilla w/ consume was 16$. It was very tender and cheesy. The consume has chunks of birria in it and was perfect for a cold day in NYC. The ambiance of the restaurant is authentic Mexican fiesta. There is a bar area with 3 or 4 stools. TV's with Mexican music playing. I came for lunch but I have a feeling this place gets real lit at night. My only critique is the prices do seem a bit higher than I would have expected. But you do get traditional authentic and quality for your buck. So worth it for me and I will definitely come back. read more

Ordered food here from Mother's Day. We had a last-minute impromptu large order of 13 items that we placed with last than 2 hours' notice and surprisingly they still accommodated us. We were super lucky and grateful. We arrived a bit early for our order pick up and see 3-4 large socially distant tables of families dining in. the staff all hurriedly packed our order as each food item was ready. They triple checked to make sure they didn't forget any of our food. They also gave us free green sauce with our order. From the large party order, I ordered a chicken burrito. And when I say it's probably the best burrito I can recall having in my life, I'm not kidding. The chicken burrito was loaded with flavorful and fragrant rice and beans, juicy well marinated chicken, and delicious guac!!  Yum yum! We also ordered a specialty item "Mojarra Frita", which we don't normally order but yolo, it's mothers day. It's a fried porgy fish and surprisingly it was pretty good. This order also came with a choice or rice and beans or a salad, as with their other entrée orders. Not only was all our food items delicious, the quantity and quality exceeds the price point. In my opinion, the stand out items were: -Quesadillas (shrimp and chicken) -Tacos (suadero, asada were my favorite) they even supplied a quart of mild salsa since we ordered 15 tacos! There's a choice of Masa or flour tortillas. We got flour tortillas (2 layers each taco) but we enjoyed it most with just 1 layer of flour tortilla. I was disappointed with the Sopa de tortilla, it seemed to be a thick tomato sauce with a side of nacho chips (crunchy indeed).
