If I can give this place zero stars I would , as a bar owner I have a high perspective of customer service. I came here with my friend for a drink and a burger but sadly didn't stay for the burger and barely finished my beer due to my experience. The female bar tender (lev or levy) working today asked us for cards when we asked to move for a window seat. We kindly ensured her we hadn't ordered food yet and were just moving when she said " I mean" and pointed to our drinks. Very passive aggressive behavior from a service industry worker. I let her know there was a kinder way of saying that. When I asked to put my phone to charge she declined because I didn't tip due to her attitude. I have never had someone ask for a tip or retaliate because of such. I understand that tips to my employees are to live a life but i understand that it's also based on the level of service recieved. This was absolute pan handling behavior! The only good thing was the other bar tender Tristan (trissy) who actually served us and was kind. Walk out if you walk in and see that girl working as she should not be public facing as her attitude gets in the way of making sure patrons have a positive experience. As part of NYU student government and the greater New York area I will make sure that all my colleagues are aware that this place is a no no.

Food is good! Had ordered here a number of occasions before actually dining in. I'd usually order the slaw dog which is awesome, and comes with their amazing hand cut fries! The sloppy Joe is also bangin, and the burgers and wings are also good. When I dined in I got the steak sandwich and will be adding it to the list too! As a whole, wing bar is now part of our regular rotation!

mozzarella sticks, 10 steaming hot wings fresh out the fryer, a tequila pineapple that was way too strong (still finished it), & watching sam burns hit a chipper at the us open for birdie. had an amazing time - service was great, definitely coming back

This place is a dive-in bar for me with levity hood wings. The place has an outside patio, where we decided to sit. It was quiet, and most of the people were inside. I believe they lacked staff, so we went in and ordered drinks and food. The service was fast, and I enjoyed everything I tried: fried pickles, poppers, fries, and of course, hot wings.

I haven't eaten good hot wings outside my kitchen in ages . It was cheat day and boyfriend wanted wings . We ordered 10 medium wings well done and loved every single bite . We had to wait 30 mins tho (when I got there the place only had 3 ppl seated , 30 mins ? Anyway, its a bar so frills but they were friendly on the phone while letting me know I would have to wait 30 mins for the wings . Luckily they were so good I didnt care lol

Had a great experience here last night. The wings here were superb, I personally enjoy them well done and they did a fantastic job delivering on the request. Would definitely recommend the wings, the espresso martini ok also.

20pcs Wings with Medium Sauce.

I made a DoorDash order from here on a late night. It did take a bit longer than estimated, but no big deal. We ordered 20 wings in medium sauce ($31) and small onion rings ($8). The onion rings were limpy or too hard and crunchy, but not in a good way. You can hardly taste the onion, but more of just batter and oil. It was quite disappointing. As for the wings, they were some of the most dry and hard wings I have had. Plus, there was hardly any sauce on them either, which made them even harder to chew and eat. Even the bleu cheese I got on the side didn't help much. At least the carrots and celery that came with the wings were fairly fresh though.

I came here with my guy crew, we usually meet up once a month to catch up and chill. The bad is small and has adequate room for small groups for bar food. I forgot to take picks of my wings because I was hungry. However the wings were okay. They had a good kick and the fri were good, it was seasoned with more than salt, so that was a plus. Otherwise it's a great place to come and have a drink with friends

Saw this place while searching online for a wing spot. It's located in a nice location in Brooklyn where there are many reaturants to choose from. We started out with mozzarella sticks and mild wings. Mozzarella sticks were your average frozen Costco mozzarella sticks. There's nothing to brag about that. We tried the mild Buffalo wings. Wings were crispy and had enough hotsauce on them. They were just ok. It was not the best I had. For our main dish, we ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and the famous steak sub. The bacon cheeseburger was average and did come with a lot of crispy bacon, which made the burger more flavorful. My steak sub was good. It came with a side of A1 sauce for dipping. The French fries were very well seasoned. There's nothing fancy or upscale about this bar. It could use a makeover to make it more vibrant and attract more customers. This bar looks to be a little outdated. However, it's a bar where you come in real quick grab a drink and a quick bite. In my opinion everything was just average. I can't say this place wowed me with their wings.

The venue is pretty spacious they have a back dining area, a big bar when you enter and a full bar upstairs. There's a ton of televisions if you are watching sports as well. They have a pretty deep beer menu which I loved. The food menu is Irish influenced bar bites. We had the wings which were nice and crispy. The center of attention was the waffle fries nachos. You can't go wrong with a potato vehicle to fresh toppings. All and all great fun spot for sports and gatherings. Also this is a melting pot. Various ages, groups, backgrounds, saw a few families. In general, I like the mellow / peaceful vibes of outer borough NYC Irish pubs at lunchtime. McMahon's did not disappoint. Solid buffalo chicken wings & good burger. I am also post fries (I will try one or two of yours, but I don't need an order of fries for myself.), so can't comment on the fries. They also make a mean Caesar salad. The Caesar & buffalo wings are pretty much my metric for all Irish pubs. McMahon's would def be in the upper 50th percentile. There are a bunch of negative reviews for this spot on here for when they are very busy, on Barclays Center game nights and / or weekends. I feel like, if you read between the lines, it's people coming in groups when it's busy acting entitled. The staff at lunch has been nothing but courteous, w/ excellent service. Also, very clean inside, & food was good quality / fresh ingredients. There are almost no Irish pubs in this area open for lunch anymore at all - thank goodness this is a good one!

I realize that's very specific, but that's what happened, and maybe you are also into the things this bar has even if that wasn't you: 1. A great bartender. A truly great backyard with plenty of seats and tables for when we drunkenly order pizza after saying we didn't need anything to eat hours before. 4. Darts. Who doesn't love throwing sharp objects around after they've been drinking? 5. Amazing signage. I like the one calling me a motherfucker if I climb around outside. And the bathroom sign saying they'll hate me if I break a glass because I leave it on the sink. It's the little things. 6. Trivia on Wednesdays. 7. Homemade fireball? One of the guys I was with noted that was on the menu, and I would've immediately bought us some shots but I had just met him that night. Next time. I'll report back. 8. Good vibes. For my hubby, Brooklyn is home - and we always love exploring the new places the city has to offer when we visit. We had reservations, and were seated within 10 minutes, which was reasonable. The place was packed - everyone was in high spirits, and I was ready to taste some of the best Caribbean cuisine in the region. My hubby's best friend - a Brooklyn resident, joined us. He had been to the restaurant a few times - and had good things to say. We were not disappointed. I had the Brown Stew Red Snapper - *chef's kiss*. Hubby had the iconic Jerk Oxtail over Macaroni & Cheese Pie! The English language cannot convey the beauty of that combination! Tender, tender oxtail, falling off the bone with the creamy, cheesy mac & cheese! He wanted to savor that dish another day, so he got a to-go bag and took it back to the hotel! (I couldn't help but clean my plate - I was obsessed with the fish!) Our friend enjoyed the Hennessy Fried Shrimp (not pictured) - one of his favorite dishes at the restaurant. It looked delicious as well. For drinks, I had the Bob Marley cocktail. A colorful drink - flavorful - and effective! There were people celebrating their birthdays throughout the night - and the wait staff goes IN! I was enjoying watching at least 10 people receive the Stevie Wonder "Happy Birthday" song while we were there. Imagine my surprise when it was my turn! My birthday was the day before, and we had already celebrated in Manhattan. Having two special recognition events made the evening that much more special! Shout out to the Simpson crew who came with the song, the rhythm, the sparkling cake, and the good vibes! My 70th birthday was exceptional - without a doubt. The Simpson added the touch I needed. We'll definitely go back next time we're in Brooklyn!

I asked for bottled still water, but the staff member didn't know what they offered, so I decided to wait. Our server came over for drink orders and she was very warm and kind. She took our full order at once. I asked again about bottled water and she confirmed they had Voss, which was perfect. I requested ice on the side. When the water still did not come, I asked a third time. At that point, she told me they only had sparkling water. Ma'am... were you ever going to tell me? Or was I supposed to just sit there guessing and waiting? I was two seconds from going to grab a bottle out of my car. Food: * Cod fish fritters (appetizer): very good, and the aioli really elevated the flavor * Brown stew snapper with veggies, rice and beans, and mac and cheese: the snapper itself was flavorful but not hot, which was disappointing. The veggies lacked seasoning, and the mac and cheese tasted like plain noodles with cheese * Oxtails (my mom): she loved them, but they were just okay to me * Chicken and waffles (my husband): he enjoyed it * Fresh fruit punch: absolutely delicious Service: This is where things went downhill. After the initial interaction, I had to constantly look for our server or any staff member whenever I needed something. Not once did anyone check in to ask if we needed anything or how everything was. That level of inattentiveness is unacceptable. I was extremely annoyed. This is not the experience I expected based on reviews, but then I realized something important. Google and Yelp reviews are very different. Yelp reviewers tend to be more honest and consistent, and I should have listened. Final Thoughts: Traveling all the way from Boston for this experience was a letdown. Between having to chase service and inconsistent food quality, it simply was not worth it. If it were not for how I was raised, the tip would have been 10 percent, and even that would have been forced. Simpson's needs to either hire more staff or seriously retrain their team on customer service. Bostonians: it is not worth the trip.

The atmosphere really sets it apart--those soaring ceilings and massive windows create an airy, open feel that's perfect for daytime drinking, and the sports decor adds character without being over the top. We saw several other families, including one with a small baby, and the vibe was welcoming and chill. It wasn't crowded, so we could sit wherever we wanted. On this visit, we tried the deviled eggs, french fries, and Sonoran dog, all of which were tasty and came out impressively fast. The drinks are solid too: my Negroni was well-made, and they have well-priced beers and decent cocktails throughout. Daily specials make it even more budget-friendly. The staff is friendly and laid-back, which matches the overall vibe. Bonus points for being dog-friendly with a sidewalk patio, and the hours (weekdays 3-11pm, weekends 12-11pm) work well for both afternoon hangs and evening plans.
