Had a Groupon and have never been there. First time, last time. It's a dreary dark dump of a bar with NO tables. You have to sit on high stools with a small round high table. Just experienced literally the worst service here. I mean the bartender was fine but the waitress seemed really miffed about something. We came in hungry and asked two separate people (bartender and some other staff member) to order. Both said they would send the waitress over but never came. Needless to say, we cashed out our tab. Really sad since the menu looked good and beer and atmosphere were fun. We will give it another try in hopes that she doesn't work every night. The best bar in bay ridge. I have been going to The Bean Post for some time now. The latest menu update is great. The boneless wings and coasters are my favorite. Never disappointed in the beer selection. They are the only bar in bay ridge to always carry my favorite brewery, Abita, and not just the purple haze they always have the latest seasonal. There are never any problems in the bar. No matter if you want a beer, A shot, vodka or any other drink they always have the latest. They always have the best selection of games all year long. Watched some of the Euro Cup here. 2 in the afternoon on a saturday, it was pretty much a ghost town. Just two bartenders (one off duty), me and my wife. The bartenders were great company, and made us lots of fun cocktails. Nothing like gettin stupid in the middle of the day! read more

it's The Central Perk to Ross, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey and Rachel the MacLaren to Barney, Robin, Marshall, Lily and Ted the Paddy's Pub to Dennis, Deandra, Mac, Charlie and Frank The Max to Zack, Kelly, AC, Jessie, Screech and Lisa ok...you get the point. we stayed with friends who live just steps from this corner pub. although there were plenty of bars in the area we could have visited, just the fact that it was right outside the front door and the fun experience we had here was enough for us to come back a few times during our visit. on a weekend evening, this place is packed! there's a DJ set up in the small back room area, not a lot of seating but on a crowded evening, standing is a must anyway. we also came here late night or i should say early morning, once at around 2-3am and it was just the bartender and a couple of patrons. we basically closed the place down, had drinks and chatted with the bartender. he was extremely friendly and was good company. price is average to me, like $6-8 per drink. the vibe here is totally cool. wish we had one of these joints in my hood. Probably the best bar on 5th ave. the food however is the worst. The kitchen is very slow. We ordered boneless wings and the new bacon wrapped wings along with sweet potato fries and potato skins. The boneless wings were very undercooked, the bacon wrapped wings(sounds amazing) is over cooked. They fry them, then wrap the bacon and fry again, so it's doubly overlooked. The fries are soggy, and bc they took so long, 45+ minutes, they were cold. And the potato skins, $8 for 3 tiny skins is absurd. TGIFridays probably has the best potato skins and although these weren't the worst, they weren't that far off. Now the bar has a pretty good beer and liquor selection and some nights it even has a good crowd, but other nights it's fairly dead and has no attractive people. The bartenders are pretty friendly. Bayridge just doesn't have a good nightlife, but bean post makes the most of it. So I'd probably hang out here on a good night due to its proximity to my home, but I'll never eat here again. read more

The pub recently joined a couple of online delivery services so it was convenient to try their food. The order came timely and the deliverer was courteous. The food left much to be desired. The pigs were in extraordinarily oily blankets, the pretzel was rock hard, and the cheese had run off the burger somehow and was appended outside the bun. I should have rinsed the soda cans before opening them. They did include about fifty paper napkins and lots of condiment packets. read more

Your passive aggressive "Where it's still ok to say Merry Christmas" sign is very "tantrum-y" and irritating. The Best Bar in Brooklyn. A tremendous menu...fried macaroni & cheese, boneless buffalo chicken strips, burgers and a ton of other stuff...served into the wee hours of the night. Bean Post is the best place to go to catch the game, grab a quick bite or chill out with some friends. I stumbled upon this place almost 3 years ago and been coming back ever since. The crowd and service is very welcoming and atmosphere makes for a good place to drink. Great music on the weekends and a nice juke box for during the week. The alcohol is fairly priced; this place will NOT charge you city prices unlike some other places in Brooklyn. The food is good and simple. They have an impressive menu stacked with pub favorites and a lot of other choices so there is something for everyone. My friends and I have never had a problem with the food, cooked well and everything is clean. Favorite items are Mac and Cheese tots and their wings, not a fan of their nachos. Not a modern, or trendy place, but definitely a fun bar, plenty of room, TVs mounted everywhere, jukebox playing a mix of rock and country, and decent food. Myself and a few friends decided to check it out a few Saturdays ago, arrived around 9pm and it was slow. Over the next hour or two, the bar really filled up, and before you knew it, we were counting our blessings that we held our spots at the bar. We decided to order a few apps, and though the menu is extensive, most of the food is fried. You may want to avoid this place if you're looking for more of a restaurant, but if you're out drinking and need some fuel to keep you going, the food there might do the trick. The decor is inviting and comfortable, with probably, the best beer selection in Bay Ridge (which may not be saying a lot, but I was happy with their selection), with a good selection of seasonals. They went a little overboard with their vodka selection, but their booze selection is good. The bartenders are fun and personable, generally fast, and seem to do a good job of getting the crowd drunk (the 'tenders kept pouring shots of Drambuie and yelling Drambuie hour, which I found odd, but they seemed to be enjoying it). At some point they switched from jukebox to a DJ, who played a decent mix of music. Not my favorite tunes, but I wasn't hating it either. The crowd seems to be mostly in their mid-20's to mid-30's, and didn't seem like the rowdy types. However, this is definitely not the place to go if you're looking for a quiet place. Live a few blocks away from this place. Typical bar food but well done and the bartenders are really nice. No real waitstaff just busboys who bring out your food but it makes it a quick and easy experience. I would recommend the buffalo chicken sliders and the sweet potato fries which come with a balsamic dressing. Love this place. Been slacking on not giving it a review sooner. They just won Best Bar in the Borough of Brooklyn. The reasons I see for it are a huge beer and liquor selection that trumps everyone else in this part of Brooklyn and well verse food menu. The staff is amazing. I regularly go by at night or weekends. They have enough TVs to catch all the game. I think every sport package know to man. There are DJs on the weekends. Not my thing but it's not annoying here, they stick to top 40, 80's, 90's, & classic pop. Now the food. The menu use to be to much, it's been slimmed do the best things on it. The wings are amazing. The have bacon wrapped wings, traditional buffalo wings and everything in between. I personally like the Dry Rub wings. Medium is where I like the heat. On the side of finger appetizers I say go with Mozzarella sticks. I frequent this place once week for a beer or a meal. Love it. People giving bad reviews don't really know the place or haven't given it a fair chance. The owner Anthony is a pillar of the community helping every good cause too. The staff is a group of long time employees which says a lot to me in the bar business with how quick bartenders turn over. Go by check the place out. Maybe you'll even see me there. Went in for the first time on a Friday evening around 6. Place was a little intimidating as there were a couple of guys smoking outside that looked like regulars and it looked empty inside. Parking in that area around the area is always horrible, but my wife and I managed to find something. We approached the pub and went inside expecting to be seated but quickly found out that this ain't that type of place. It's a do it yourself kind of place and find your own chair. The place needs upgrading like you would not believe and a couple of booth areas so people can comfortably sit down. The only thing they have are stoops. My back started to hurt after a while. The waitress and bartender were great. The wings were probably the best in the area. It was packed in there by 8pm. Overall I thought the place was not bad but not great. Great beer selection I had a seasonal cider. I will return for the beer and wings. read more

Visited this bar this past week for the first time. They had a surprisingly good beer selection and the bartender was super nice. Hung out for a while and decided to order food. That was our mistake. Despite the bartenders repeated attempts to get the waitresses attention, she sat talking with her friend. When she finally did come over (after about 20 minutes and numerous requests), she was loudly complaining about her job, the patrons and how she would "pass out if someone tipped well". We hadn't even ordered yet! When she brought the food, she was rude and clearly put out by having to do her job. When we asked for the missing blue cheese (we ordered some wings), she muttered loudly about how she wished someone would get something right. I understand that waitressing is not easy work, however, there were no more than 15 people in the bar, so she could not have been that overworked. Bottom line, if we hadn't ordered food, 5 star establishment. My advice is to eat elsewhere and then go here for a few drinks with a nice bartender and good environment. I honestly have no idea how that waitress still has a job. read more

I have a great review: never ever order on a Friday night for deliveries. You'll end up waiting for more than an hour, with the reasoning that they got "7 orders all at once." Wow, 7 whole orders...and probably one delivery person...stop being cheap and start employing more people, maybe that way business and deliveries and your customer service will improve. Via Facebook and from friends I've been told that the Post has been closed for almost 2 months?! Lo and behold I hop onto the NYC Health Dept site and see that it was given permission to reopen in January yet still isn't. This begs the question of why this is the case? I've never been a fan of their food, it's always greasy and everything is fried and tastes exactly the same like any other bar/pub in Bay Ridge. It's never somewhere I would go specifically to eat but at the same time I've always enjoyed knocking back a couple. The bartenders are decent and they have the a good selection of beer and spirits but the Health Dept. reviews makes me cautious of returning. I hope they straighten out anything they got going on and reopen eventually. read more
