Me & my honey came here for the first time on Saturday in the late afternoon. It was crowded so we figured it must be good. They told us it would be about 15 minutes for an outdoor table but it was only about 10. The service was excellent. I loved the blackened shrimp tacos & my man couldn't stop talking about how good the Italian style chicken wings were. The calamari app was also very yummy & well portioned. It was a great laid back beachy environment. We tried some craft beers that were very good. They make an excellent mule & the sky juice was very light and refreshing if slacking on the liquor a bit. We walked along the beach from our resort to the restaurant. We were told it would be about a 35 minute wait but it only took 20. We started with a salad and the chowder. The chowder was full of fish. The appetizers all looked amazing so that's all we ordered. The smoked fish dip was a first for us and it didn't disappoint. It had a perfect smoky flavor. The Sicilian calamari was great also. The banana peppers added great spice. We never turn down conch fritters and they were a hit. Second night in St Augustine and my family and I decided to return to this restaurant after two years, where we had some really good food. My hopes were high. I ordered the big fish Ruben with fries on the side. Somehow, I was given a veggie burger and didn't notice, lol. Let me tell you, that damn veggie burger was awesome. If my server didn't say something about it as she brought out my fish reuben, I wouldn't have known. She boxed that up for me to take home (it was just as awesome.) She apologized over and over again and I told her that it was okay and that the veggie burger was really good. What a great spot to soak up some rays and live the beach going lifestyle for a bit of time. Not the best place we ate on our trip, but would definitely return here! First of all, they give you SO much food if you're ordering a dinner. The location is pretty cute, but parking is extremely limited so be cautious or walk up. The food we had was great, but you could definitely split dinners here! Great food, great service. The steamed cold shrimp were perfect, and the conch fritters were delicious! Appreciated the parking guidance in a residential area. One bartender was wearing her mask on the bottom of her chin and the other bartender wasn't wearing one at all. The two people visible in the kitchen were not wearing masks either. Visited Beachcomber when it was chilly outside and was not very busy. Was seated promptly but wait for the food was long and food was average at best. My sons hamburger patty was burnt and was about 1/3 the size of the bun. Our waiter was less then friendly unfortunately and did not come back around after dropping off the food to the point where I had to get up and find someone to get our tab. Ate there tonight and JD was our server. It was a 15 minute wait to be able to sit outside and worth it as no one was wearing a mask anywhere. We had a caprese salad as an appetizer which was good and then grilled shrimp skewers which my wife really enjoyed and "The Junior" - a battered and deep fried chicken breast sandwich with Swiss cheese and bacon. It was also good but I wasn't expecting much. JD was an excellent server - quick to act and never forgot a thing while juggling multiple tables. We will ask for him if we return. Stopped in for a quick drink at night and walk on the beach. I asked if the gator tail was fresh and was assured immediately that is was, so I ordered it. I ordered a double whiskey and coke, the coke was flat. The "gator tail" came out fried and in super small pieces, like tater tot size was the biggest piece. Not fresh, no way it's fresh. It may have been fresh when they bought it last year and froze it. Bartender described it as the "best ever" "like chewy chicken" ?!? Horrible especially for $14. Next time I'll bring my own drink and walk right past this establishment. Everyone was nice enough though so 2 stars. read more

So we went by at 1:00 hour plus wait so we decided to go later at 4;00 got there no wait a few open tables Ashley was our waitress we ordered the fish dip 15 minutes later to be told the kitchen is backed up. The fish dip was good but when it came out we ordered not to have a long wait but the food came out in a reasonable time only to have my fish Ruben stone cold when my wife's crab cake sandwich was hot. Five minutes later she is back with another sandwich appreciate the speed but it was mushy like it was microwaved not their best effort but from my experience here it was likely a waitstaff issue. read more
