I really wanted to love this place because it has such a cool vibe. I live close by and have always heard great things about it. My partner and I walk past it often on Riverside Dr. We went about a year ago and the food was not great. It was kinda pricey for what I got. I decided to go back today with my partner. It wasn't busy at all. Ordered a breakfast burrito and a Beyond Sausage BBQ sandwich. It took 30 minutes for our food to arrive while others who came after us...got their food at the same time. Our food came out cold which tells me it was sitting in the kitchen for awhile. We sent it back and they said they'd remake it. That also took too long so I decided to get a refund on my sandwich. The counter person couldn't do it. There was no management on the premises until the next day and I didn't want to come back. I ended up getting a gift card for the price of my sandwich...which I will give away to someone else.... NOTE TO THE OWNER/MANAGER: Having been to your establishment twice, the food needs improvement...it's just not very good. My BBQ sandwich didn't come with the BBQ on the Beyond Sausage, it was on the side in a little plastic container....terrible presentation. Please have your staff bring out food in a timely manner before it gets cold. I just can't recommend this to anyone. read more

Was looking for a new breakfast spot to check out on a Sunday morning and OMG am I SO happy we discovered Basecamp! Walking into the cafe, I was smiling from ear to ear. I am a big camper, so the camping/outdoorsy theme was really hitting the spot for me. The little details here are what really make the ambiance very special and inviting. There are two large outdoor patios for seating and lots of space between parties. The patio we sat on was overlooking the street corner and it was covered in the most beautiful green vines with bursting purple flowers. This particular Sunday morning was very lively, but we didn't have to wait in line to order. The cashier at the front was very helpful in answering my questions about their most popular dishes and coffee. They have their own brew! It has a lovely natural sweet taste to it, and I drank it black. Loved the flavor! We ended up ordering a breakfast burrito and the chilaquiles with avocado added. They give you a number and you find your own seat. We sat all the way at the very last table at the corner of the furthest patio. I was expecting us to wait a long time for our food to come out because I wasn't sure how they would even find us. Turns out, our patio had its own designated busboy and even a water station so you didn't have to walk all the way back to the front counter. Even though the restaurant was bumpin', it still felt like we had our own little private area to enjoy a quiet and chill breakfast. SO much to say about the vibe here, but now for the food! The breakfast burrito was massive! My husband was able to swap the regular bacon for the turkey bacon which was a nice option. My chilaquiles were great! I LOVED the salsa that was on the plate. The chips were in the perfect crunchy/mushy zone for typical chilaquiles. It was served with a side of black beans and two over easy (or your style of choice) eggs. Delicious! It was a fantastic breakfast start to finish. This may seem silly, but you have to check out the bathrooms when you are here! I had some questions about the food and just felt like the girl could not take time for me. I truly hate that feeling from hospitality workers, when i feel like im unwelcome to be a customer. However the guy busing & doing food delivery service was AWESOME!! So fast, friendly, aware of our needs & quick to clean spaces. Breakfast burrito was pretty good but wouldn't get again. I think I've eaten here for the last time. Breakfast anyway. I just spent $22 on breakfast. It is a very cute place. The ambience and vibe is 5 stars. The food however is way overpriced and not great. I'm an easy boring breakfast food, eggs and bacon kinda guy...but I've been here twice this last week and it's to bland, especially at $22. I can make it better at home and will. Again, I go here when the occasional friend or date suggests it at convenience. Today, the staff wasn't pleasant to me or my friend. We both mentioned it when we sat down. We all have off days, but this place seems to always disappoint lately. I hope it changes. I love the convenience/ambience of this local spot. read more

When we got there we were impressed with how charming it looked and couldn't believe he had never been before! My chai latte was delicious: but then the food came and everything went downhill. The French toast was like old bread with corn syrup on it. It was practically inedible--literally tasted like dry bread. The avocado toast was just avocado and lemon sliced on bread with some onions and arugula. It was edible, but it was not particularly good. My husband's burrito was also not good--I'm not even sure how you can screw up a breakfast burrito, but it was disappointing. We all agreed we would not go back. read more

Finally got the chance to dine here after several years! Basecamp was as cozy and awesome of an experience as I had imagined. I only got to stop here for coffee a couple of years ago, but this time I got to try their breakfast/brunch. First off, I love how spacious the whole area is. It is never difficult to find seating, and the tables are spread comfortably apart. There are indoor as well as outdoor seats. You order at the counter, they give you a number, and then they'll bring the food out to you. Coffees they will call your name to the counter. We ordered a breakfast burrito and a granola parfait. The quantity was pretty generous, and came out really fast! The lady at the counter was also soooo friendly and sweet - just made my morning so much brighter. The parking lot for Basecamp is really small, but there are so many residential street parking spots that it's not a problem at all. This place is absolutely perfect for catching up with friends. The pace and ambience is comfortable, laid back, and the food menu is vast enough to satisfy anyone's taste buds. My friend and I chatted here for 4 hrs on a Saturday afternoon, because it was that welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place to just about anyone! read more

Love coming here for their burgers from the BBQ joint next door. Their French fries are so good and are essentially steak fries but thinner so they get a little crispy around the edges and come with a bbq sauce/spicy ketchup type of sauce which is excellent. I like that this gives almost like a cafe vibe but they're open later than most and offer not only cafe drinks, but also several options of local craft beers and wines. I've come here at night for dinner with a friend and on a weekend morning for breakfast and both energies are enjoyable. The place is tucked in amongst a residential type area so many locals walk or bike here. Overall always enjoy stopping by! read more

Super cute diner! This place has a lovely theme to it where the decorations involve a lot of the outdoors and nature. It is very put together. Dining is super casual where you order your food first and receive a number. And then to find a place to sit, there's so many different options. You could be sitting on a couch or the bar area or the traditional tables and chairs. This place does provide a lot of outdoor seating with tents above, so you'll stay dry even if it rains. The food was great! Decent portion size for the price. The quality of food was pretty standard for a restaurant. The smoothies were a bit on the smaller end for size, but delicious! The ambience here is really unique for a brunch spot - we sat at a picnic table outside that definitely had a pub vibe to it but was loaded with plant life that gave it a distinctly Burbank feel. I had a croissant breakfast sandwich with eggs, turkey sausage and a good bit of tapatio alongside a green salad with loads of finely shredded carrots and a tasty balsamic vinaigrette. (In lieu of a salad there were also crispy breakfast potatoes or melon available as side options but I was really into the brunch vibe of a salad with a breakfast sandwich) One of the people in our party ordered the english muffin sandwich and was surprised to learn that it came with two english muffins. The melon looked fresh and ripe and the potatoes were pretty standard crispy fried cubes. The croissant was very light and flaky in contrast to the dense meat and egg. The portions are big and hearty across the board! If youre looking to enjoy the outdoors while having a nice weekday brunch, this is a great spot! On the other hand, I did enjoy the Egyptian tea. The biggest downfall was the service. A place that tries to imitate a cozy, good-natured vibe should try implicating that in their service. Tried Basecamp Dinette on a weekend afternoon. The restaurant is located on a quiet section of Riverside Drive down the street from Disney Studios. The cafe is in a separate building from the kitchen, and the covered outside seating is meant to convey eating at a campground. Food and drinks are ordered in the cafe, and the food is brought to your table via a number. The menu is pretty interesting, but I decided to go for a brisket breakfast burrito and an iced tea. The breakfast burrito was a good size, filled with scrambled eggs, chili beans, and hash browns. These ingredients nicely accentuated the brisket, which was tender and well-flavored. The iced tea I ordered came with free refills as well. The facilities were clean and the service was welcoming. Prices were pretty average. Will revisit when in the area again. read more

Great little place for brunch. Have been here 2-3 times for brunch. It's in a nice little area by Griffith Park and the Los Angeles Equestrian center, so there's a lot of park area nearby and regular horse-sightings. I usually come with my partner and dog and we walk so he's good and tired by the time we arrive. There used to be both indoor and outdoor dining but they've expanded the outdoor dining with a few more semi-closed canopy areas. Now you just go up to the register, order, and seat yourself. We ordered avocado toast, the two egg plate, and mimosas. They don't have a liquor license so they can't sell hard liquor such as that found in Bloody Mary's, but the mimosas are good, though a bit light on the champagne (aren't they all though?) Good energy, good food, good music, good space, and good vibes all round. Great for pets and children/strollers as there's a lot of casual picnic bench/tables around, and a popular stop for bicycle riders. I only wish they brought back some version of an Eggs Benedict, but the two egg plate was fine. read more

I figured it was because they were busy and multi tasking, but once it happened the second time.. I realized it's just their mistake. The staff is friendly, but they need to pay more attention to when their customer is ordering to make sure they get it down correctly. Both times they messed up my order of pancakes. I ordered the 3 buttermilk pancakes and got the fresh berries added (for an additional charge which is totally acceptable). When they brought my plate of food the first time, it was ONE pancake plain. No berries. I had to ask them to fix it for me. Once the correct order arrived to my table, it was perfect and delicious. No complaints! Until I realized I had no silverware and had to wait another few mins for it. By then.. my scrambled egg was cold. But I ate it anyway because I didn't want to bother them again. Second time, I ordered the 3 pancakes again with the berries, but this time I asked for an extra plate so I'm able to share with my aunt. When it arrived to my table.. I only got TWO pancakes???? And no extra plate. So I had to go up to the employee and ask them to bring me the third pancake. The employee told me "the kitchen gave you two instead of three because they were big pancakes. But I'll have them make you another one since you paid for them you're going to get it." And honestly, the size shouldn't matter. The menu says THREE pancakes. So three pancakes should've been served. It took them 10+ mins to bring me the third pancake and an extra plate. By that time, my aunt had already finished half her food. Very disappointing that this happened twice. However, the pancakes are delicious and I recommend. Hopefully they get your order right the first time. I ordered the mimosa flight and an iced lavender latte with oat milk. Mimosa flight comes with 3 flavors: orange, mango, and guava. All really delicious and pretty strong! Food was average. Service was terrible. I went with my 2 dogs & sat outside. The waitress brought my sandwich with no napkins. A few min later, a young man was bussing tables, I kindly asked him if he could please get me a napkin since my food was brought without any. He tells me I can go inside and get one...I said well I'm not going to because I have these 2 dogs and it's really not convenient & held up my messy hands. He completely ignored my request...I realize this may sound petty. He had 6 plates to clear, we are not talking rush hour here. I wouldn't have minded if I was alone but I had my dogs with me because I had to be out of my home for several hours today. I googled dog friendly restaurants and chose this place based on reviews. The review is based on my memory of this place. I was searching for some old pictures and I came across this album and some quick notes on my experience here. I remember I've gone twice and both times were 3/5 on customer satisfaction, food preservation. I never returned since 2017 and now it's 2023. I was looking at the pictures on Yelp of other customers and I see they stopped using the blue dishes. I think the blue dishes made this place pop!!! Local coffee shop with all day breakfast/lunch options. It's currently opened during covid for takeout and for outdoor dining. People primarily come here for coffee but you can definitely enjoy a reasonably priced meal. The omelette I ordered was very filling and came with a side of toast and potatoes. I also got an iced chai latte, which was very smooth and creamy. They gave us free pastries at close and let everyone hang out on their patio even after the employees left, which I thought was very nice! The bear claw that was given was really flaky and just the right amount of sweet. There are fans blowing light mist and there's a second outdoor dining area if you walk further down. There's a small parking lot available in front of the restaurant. Masks are required to go in. They accept credit cards. Note that they do close at 3pm on weekends. read more

this was my first time at basecamp! I got the english muffin egg sandwich which comes with two 2 sandwiches . it's definitely filling! in terms of food quality, it was good but nothing standout. Went yesterday morning for breakfast and was super disappointed. Not sure if management or cooks changed but definitely not the same. Been going here for years and always enjoyed it. Started with the staff not as happy or friendly. Then my coffee was cold and tasted odd, not sure if it was burnt or old (house coffee). Then I ordered Lavender waffle with chicken sausage and my husband ordered the brisket burrito. Not impressed at all, had me wanting to go to IHop for my breakfast fix. My waffle tasted like it was an ego popped in the toaster and sat out too long and chicken pieces were cold and hard.
