We tried Basecamp Dinette this morning, as a party of three at about 10am. (06/06/2026). This is my first time at this restaurant. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Rancho Equestrian neighborhood of Burbank. There is not that much parking in the lot; however, there is plenty of free neighborhood parking nearby. This is a cute cafe with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. You order at the counter and then they will bring the food to you. The line was pretty constant the entire 2+ hours of our visit; however, they seem to have a steady flow in and out. The person at the counter who took our order was very friendly and she made appropriate recommendations when asked questions. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, which came with two eggs and a side. I ordered country potatoes as my side. Since I do not eat eggs, she was kind enough to replace my eggs with a side of fruit, which I enjoyed very much. To drink, I had the Peach Arnold Palmer. Everything was very good, and I had an excellent time. This is the definition of a great neighborhood restaurant, and I was very pleased -- until next time! read more

We ordered at a counter and bussed our own table. I CANNOT BELIEVE they ask for tips. For what? Maybe they should give me a tip for putting in my order and cleaning my table. I picked my coffee up from the counter. All they did was bring out 2 plates. EVERYTHING else is self serve. Portions were big but my burrito was not good at all. Stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday around 3 p.m. and the place was not packed. We even got a parking spot. It's a plain table-and-chairs type of establishment. You order at the register and the food is brought to you. I hate when they ask for a tip before you are served, and this place does just that. Hubby tipped 15%. Service involved having our food brought to our table. There are no garbage cans; you can't clear your leftover mess. You leave it. So, they deserve a tip. We had a pulled pork sandwich, a steak sandwich, ribs, a sample platter, and chicken salad. Sides included sweet potato fries, cole slaw, and onion rings. All were very good. The ribs were so spicy we thought they were Jamaican-jerk style. My daughter, who ordered them, was not pleased. Hubby and I ate most of them. Went here with friends. Had the buffalo chicken salad. chicken was moist. Ingredients were fresh. The on the side dressing (a ranch? ) was too watered down. I think a regular dressing with a thicker blue would be better. Nice staff. Dog friendly. read more

My friend has been coming here for years and she finally broke the secret by inviting my husband and I. We came on a Saturday morning at 10AM. A third of the tables were taken and there was only 3 parties ahead of us in line to order. There is ample outdoor seating (some shaded in the vine-covered pergola), which is great for dogs and watching horses trotting by. There are about a dozen tables inside if you wanted to escape the elements. The only drawback is the limited parking. This place reminds me of East Austin - rustic, converted spaces turned into a dinette or cafe. And, the service reflect the laid-back atmosphere - counter ordering, beverages you pick up at an adjacent counter before sitting, food delivered to tables by order number placards, and self-service leftover boxes. The cashier was friendly and the bussers chatted with regular customers & smiled often. I ordered the Brisket Breakfast Burrito - tender smoked brisket with egg, cheese, beans and hash browns rolled into a grilled tortilla. I could have done without the beans and a side of sour cream along with the side of salsa would have made the dish perfect for my preferences. My husband had the Mom's Biscuits and Gravy - pepper gravy over crumbly & buttery biscuits, flavorful chopped sausage, and instead of eggs they allowed a substitution of fresh cut fruit. The diced seasoned breakfast potatoes were really yummy too. As a sharable side, I ordered the Parm Garlic Fries - crispy thin-cut wide fries that was the perfect vehicle for the salty parm, fragrant garlic, and herbaceous rosemary and basil blend. The only downside was the fries arrived warm, not hot (probably cooling at the pass while the runner waited for another entree). I'd order it again with the request for extra crispy fries. I also enjoyed the cold brew coffee that packed a lovely amount of caffeine. My husband liked the peach arnold palmer a lot - it was well mixed and sweet. As we sat inside, we watched the steady line grow while was enjoyed the meal and caught up with you dear friend (2 hours long). A former spin class buddy who my friend hadn't seen in 7 years happened to be there too, so this place really felt like a welcoming, neighborhood spot. By the way, my friend ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla, which looked really good and well stuffed. Recently, I had Sunday breakfast at Basecamp Dinette with a friend, who previously dined here and recommended it. We parked nearby and arrived at around 9:15am. There was a queue, but it moved quickly. We ordered at the counter and picked-up our drinks there as well. After finding a table, our food came out in about 15 minutes. The service was fast & friendly, and the ambiance is casual & homey. For my entree, I ordered the Chorizo Skillet with a sunny side up egg ($15.99). The skillet was flavorful and filling. It came with a side of corn tortillas, which were warm, but stuck together in the foil, making them hard to pull apart. The skillet can be sharable, so I ate half and took the rest home. There were self-serve takeout containers by the entrance of the restaurant. For my drink, I ordered a hot Chai Latte ($5.00). Unfortunately, their steamer wasn't working at the time, so I had to get it iced. It was fragrant, but a tad too sweet and milky for me. read more

Came here for coffee and a quick breakfast with friends. A lot of people stop by to grab some coffee and a pastry before headed to work. It filters through pretty quickly. Their pastries were the star of this place. So many I wanted to try but I had their homemade biscuit and I've been thinking about it for days. Other than that had their latte which was solid and their English muffin breakfast sandwiches that were tasty. Quick, easy, solid all around. Tried this place out near my work and I really kiked the overall vibe. They serve both food and coffee which is great for a lunch break. The breakfast burrito was pretty good, and the coffee tasted great! Only complaint was that it took a long time for the food to come out and they weren't that busy. We visited base camp dinette after a morning at Griffith Park. Finding parking was a breeze. There was a long line but it moved quickly and it gave us time to look through the menu. They have an array of pastries with vegan options. The person taking the orders was knowledgeable on what was dairy free, which I appreciated. This charming retro-modern restaurant with its novelty camping decor is adorable. It's like I found a sliver of R&R tucked neatly within a residential neighborhood. I could easily get lost here for hours in just the decor and menu alone. All it needed was horseshoes, s'mores, and ghost stories to complete the ambiance. Instead, it's got all that and more. Great coffee, easy service, and seriously delicious breakfast. First, I love how they branded every inch of this space with the Basecamp theme, including the menu. The front signage is brilliant and you can spot it from the street while driving by. The outdoor patio is made to feel like you're chillin' next to a parked RV. And it's lush. The picnic tables and outdoor greenery feels like you've escaped the concrete jungle, and you're somewhere out by a lake with lots of tall trees and maybe even a bear. Or rather, as hungry as one--which I was. As I walked up to the front of the line inside, I didn't mind the 10-minute wait since there were so many good choices on the menu. Chilequiles looked good. The portion looked like it could satisfy a lumberjack crawling out of hibernation. House-made Pasties? Yes, please. Bring on the fresh fruit cronut. Yes, it tasted as good as it looked. Flaky, buttery, and topped with a crystal sugary glaze, it beared fresh bananas, blueberries, and strawberries like a badge of honor. Huevos Rancheros - It was a fiesta of spices mingling with over easy eggs on top of warm corn tortillas, and topped with a ranchero sauce with just the right amount of heat. I like that they aren't shy about avocado rations and that the hash browns are perfectly crisp and buttery. I'd say the whole plate comes together like a campfire song everyone already knows the words to. Kumba-YUM!!!!!! Verdict: Hangry campers walk out feeling fueled up and happy to start their day. Lunch review! Pretty tasty! Friendlier service at this hour too (i know its strange but ill make note of it.) I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad which was very good and a tad spicy with delicious cut bits of fried chicken. I noticed everyone else's food choices in the restaraunt also looked very well presented. A new note for this lunch was the line got pretty busy for the weekend noon hour; but that is expected for how good this place is. It wasn't a quick line though, slower than usual, but we got there :) There was still a good amount of seating with their picnic style benches which some folks shared and the inside with smaller seating. I'm not sure why but this is one of the places I loved to come and do work for long periods of time. Dinette is a nature/hiking themed brunch and cafe in south Burbank near the LA River. The restaurant styles itself on the small, inconspicuous little joints seen in US National Parks. While a decent local place with personality, and a slight hipster vibe, I left slightly disappointed. On an early Friday morning, an old friend and I caught up; you order at the front register, and I asked the staff what Dinette was most famous for and what she recommended; she suggested the Basecamp Breakfast Burrito ($13); this came with a side of hash browns. Accompanying this was a rather generic cappuccino ($4.50). The burrito was disappointing, which was fairly dry, filled with too many hashbrowns, and a little overcooked. While thankfully saved by a decent, slightly spicy salsa, I would suggest more eggs, bacon, cheese, and to drop the hashbrowns altogether. The hash browns were fairly generic, and a little overcooked as well. The ambiance is relaxed and outdoorsy, and the staff friendly but not effusive. The food came fairly quickly (10-15 minutes). The prices, while not extortionate, were fairly middling for somewhat lackluster food. Perhaps I would have been better served by a better entree choice or one of the many tasty bakery items in their window, but alas I try what was recommended. Nice little place. It is mainly self serve. I did have high expectations but maybe too high. I got the French toast with a side of eggs and bacon and for my coffee an americano. All of the food items were a 3 at best. French toast was dry and not a lot of flavor. Just very sub par for all of it. The coffee was good. Definitely a 4. It took a little while to get the food, like 30 minutes. Over all I will probably not come back. My wife got the avacodo toast and she said it was a 3 also. Great spot! Friendly staff and food is amazing! I came by during my break from clinical and was in a time crunch, the line was long because it was a Sunday during lunch time. Maybe pre-order online and pick up if you're ever in a rush. They have seats like picnic style outside, and more seats, bar style and couches inside. They also have pastries right by the entrance, which I will probably try next time! I had their Base-ic burger and Iced Matcha Latte! The burger was juicy and the portion is great! I had the fries and the cut is not the usual ones you see out there and I enjoyed it. This place is just not good. Service is extremely slow, and staff is indifferent. I ordered a salad along with the rest of my party, and didn't get it until about 20 minutes after everyone else had gotten their food. After I got up to request an update, the cashier didn't seem to care to look into it. After that, I saw someone else walk out with my salad and instead of taking accountability, said "don't worry we didn't forget about you". Not a good way to handle business, and Burbank alone has a lot better, more attentive restaurants. The breakfast here is amazing!! I've only ever had breakfast and coffee and both were delicious. I'm a big coffee person and like my coffee really hot. Come here once a year for the past 3 years when I have an annual meetup nearby. So far, have tried a few things on the menu which were all decent. - Grilled Cheese - Standard - Brisket Breakfast Burrito - Has the potential to be great-- the ingredients all seem good and it's cooked well, BUT there's no flavor! The only flavor is from the salsa, which helps, but it would be great if the burrito itself had some seasoning too. - Garlic Parmesan Fries - the fry texture and cut is really nice and unique! However, wish that the seasoning was a little more integrated with the fry, and could use some more salt and garlic flavor, rather than those ingredients just put on top - Seasonal Lemonade - got one of these but don't remember which flavor it was, maybe Lychee, but it was decent! My friend got the Peach one which was better though. - Candied Matcha - not a huge fan of this, it wasn't very sweet or strong, and the cinnamon flavor was too overpowering and grainy. No issues with service, and ambiance is always a fun chill place to meet up with people, usually there is enough seating (but barely), and parking is hit or miss to find. read more

The cheese was cheap and had no flavor or moisture. Couldn't even eat it. Definitely threw half our plates away. Omelette was disappointing and full of nasty slimy mushrooms. Cheese was foul. Today we went around 12:00 PM and there was long line to get to the front. However while standing in line we were able to spot a table to sit at before ordering. We did have to wait a tad longer for our food since it was very busy. However we got our beverages right away and pasties. The chocolate croissant is ALWAYS banging. I tried the lavender waffles with chicken sausage for the first time. I would t say it was my Favorite. I thought the sausage would provide enough savory flavor to combat the lavender sweetness and I don't think it did. Not an item I will order again but always love their other food. read more

I invited a couple of friends to meet up on their way to NorCal from OC. I paid $96 for 4 people. Each one had an entree and we got 3 coffees. Sorry, but totally not worth almost $100. Iced pumpkin coffee was watered down. I chose their Basecamp Burrito with confidence as their name is on it. It was dry and 1/3 was hash browns plus additional hash browns on the side. First time at Basecamp/Scouts Honor BBQ! It's a charming spot with nice service. We were initially confused about parking, as both share the same building. Basecamp's food ends at 3 PM, but beverages are available. Scouts Honor BBQ was delicious and affordable. The BBQ falls apart easily and melts in your mouth. I loved the breakfast tacos, you can sub for beyond meat and the hazelnut latte. You can sub the milk with non-dairy. read more

The sauce tasted a bit like green play doh, the quinoa patty was tastless, and the side of home fries were fried so hard that they were mostly inedible. I ate maybe 6 pieces.
