    Rigatoni Vodka Pasta
    Maura C.

Olive & Thyme is always such a great spot to grab lunch in the Glendale/Burbank area! My go-to is the rigatoni with vodka sauce, and they have an amazing assortment of baked goods as well (the lemon bar and pop tarts are a favorite). It is a beautiful space with lots of natural lighting, some outdoor seating, and a section of retail products like cute trinkets/cooking things which I always enjoy browsing. Ordering at the counter is easy, and you just grab a table while you wait for your meal so it feels super casual. Seating is fairly limited and parking on the street can be challenging especially during the lunch rush.

I had a matcha, and honestly, it's one of the best I've had in LA.

This place meets all the requirements. It was totally comfortable hanging out there all day on my laptop and the food and drinks I had were all good. The employees are also friendly. The ONLY reason I'm giving this place a 3 is that last time I went, the bathroom was FILTHY and there was no toilet paper. I'm not even kidding - it looked like the sink hadn't been cleaned in months, there was grime everywhere and even a dead cockroach, belly up on the floor. This is first thing in the morning when they opened. It had me looking around at other parts of this coffee shop like behind the counter and on the floor and I don't know what happened since last time but it was grimy. Their grab and go fridge was also nearly empty, which I thought was weird. Did something happen? Anyway, I hope they fix all that because otherwise, this is a great little place with a good menu and nice people who work there.

Oh my merch! They have a lot of bits and bobs for you to peruse. Such cute little coffee themed items that would possibly brighten the gloomiest of days. I ended up grabbing a "you can sip with us" crop & I'm excited to wear it. Service was quick and friendly. The barista took the time to engage with me a bit & genuinely seemed to care about my experience. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch which is flavorful and not too sweet which is a plus in my book. This is a bustling little cafe with some room to bring a buddy and chat, cozy up with a book, or get some work done (WiFi available!) I hope I'm in the area again so I can visit sometime soon.

My only feedback here is that the shop looks little beat up through years of wear and tear. There are visible tears on furniture and dust on decorations. I guess it could add to the homey vibe. It would also be nice if they cleaned the seating areas more regularly. We went when it was moderately busy, but there were clear spills of a sweet drink that had been sitting for a while and crumbs. Baristas were well-trained and they provided a great experience. Overall, this place has all the basics you're looking for in a cafe. A decent drink selection, some pastries and some seats both indoors and outdoors. You can also use this place as a pick-me-up and go on a walk along Magnolia.

Staff was welcoming and polite. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a book vending machine and even a rack of free books. That alone made the place feel extra charming. They also have board games, which is such a nice touch if you're coming with friends or planning to stay awhile. Since it was a pretty hot day, I ordered the guava lemonade, and it was delicious. It was refreshing and exactly what I needed to cook down. This is such a perfect place for study time, catching up with friends, or just relaxing with some tea or coffee. 10/10 will def be back.

I've ordered lattes each time, and they've all been good. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently lacking. Every visit has felt unwelcoming. No greeting, no acknowledgment when you walk in, just silence. It's a small thing, but it really affects the overall experience. I'd also skip the pastries. They look good, but they weren't worth the money. Overall, it's a nice neighborhood coffee shop with decent drinks, but nothing that would make me go out of my way to come back. If you're nearby and want a latte, it's a solid option. Otherwise, there are plenty of coffee shops with better service and the same quality drinks.

Do you have any sense?! Anyway, turns out that person was upset that their order got canceled on DoorDash. If that person ever saw the line at Lou's, she'd understand why. Better yet, if she ever tried Lou's, she'd never have the gall to post nonsense like that. If you haven't had it, don't review it. Simple as that. As for ALL of the items at Lou's "Oh, aimé-je" it does NOT get any better. The croissants are hands down the best in America. The sandwiches (all of them): finger-licking good. The éclairs are the most delectable in town, as are the other pastries. And with ALL of that, somehow the best thing is still the customer service. I have yet to walk in there without seeing Lou personally chatting it up with customers, the man is everywhere. On sunny and rainy days he's passing out umbrellas, and on Mother's Day he's handing out wonderful gifts for all the ladies. The staff take their lead from him and are every bit as splendid. If you haven't tried it yet, it's not too late -- run, don't walk, this weekend. Your taste buds will file a formal complaint if you don't.

Got here early Sunday afternoon because the line was not absurdly long -- about 6 ish parties in front of us and waited around 15-20 minutes. The interior was really small and there's really only room for to place your order -- if you ordered a drink or sandwich you'd have to step outside to wait. There are a couple of small round tables covered with umbrellas for small parties if you want to do a small meet up or wait for your goods. We had wanted some croissants and apple tarts but unfortunately they had run out of the Apple tarts by the time we ordered (another excuse to return next time). We were convinced by the nice lady at the register to pick up not one but two almond croissants because they were fresh out of the oven and I'm SO GLAD we did. It was still hot/warm when we took our first bite after walking back to our car -- flaky amazing lamination with a steaming frangipane filling, for sure the best almost croissant I've had. The regular croissant was also good but not fresh/warm like the almond croissant so it left less of an impression but I can imagine it also tasting amazing if we got it fresh. Burbank is not necessarily close to where I live but I'm so glad we happened to stop by to finally try this spot out! I'd love to try the sandwiches and tarts next time!
