I've driven by Patys many times over the years. Rushing on the way to set @Disney or Warner Brothers or a fitting across the street. And I've always made a mental note to stop in and we finally did today and it didn't disappoint! Parking was easy pezzzy, in the parking lot directly behind the dinner, sandwiches by the 134 fwy. We sat in the wrap around patio on a sunny winters day. My husband ordered a chicken patty and hash and I, a vegan Cobb salad! So many vegan options and meat substitutes! Thank you, it's amazing. Both dishes arrived quickly, and were delicious, straight forward diner style. Love that! You don't find many diners around LA with healthy vegan options. I appreciate that! The price point for the two of us, my husband appreciated: It's 2x the cost at any adjacent local restaurant for lunch. We came in for breakfast and were seated inside, love the diner vibe. Seating is also available outside and street parking is available. Friendly customer service and we were served pretty quickly. I liked the decor with old photos of celebrities visiting the diner. There's a display case of desserts up front which is very tempting and they all looked delicious. My husband loved his chorizo with scrambled eggs and even though I ordered a standard breakfast, it was hot and cooked well with crispy bacon. Patys! A Toluca Lake, Los Angeles must located on Riverside Drive just a beat away from Burbank off the 134 Fwy. They have parking in the rear off Clybourn Avenue as well as a lot of street parking. You can enjoy their outer covered patio as well as their patio patio when weather permits. Popped in on a rainy day after setting up for an event at night with my friend Shaun and realized I hadn't been to Patys in years and shown them the love they deserved. Patys offers a variety of American dinner style comfort food including some choice healthier options, gluten free options, plenty of vegetarian and an extensive amount of vegan eats including their Vegan Chicken Salad, Vegan 'Chicken' Tacos, Vegan "Chicken" Sandwich, Impossible Burger Melt (hold the cheese), several sides and starters. Most can enjoy their Sandwiches, Salads, Soups, Tacos, Entrees, Chilis, Lunch section, huge Breakfast section and Favorites. I don't believe any of the Breakfast items are plant-based, several vegetarian by default, but do know that you can get creative and they will accommodate. They do offer gluten free French Toast or Pancakes where applicable and it even says so right on their menu :) It's always five star service from the moment you walk in. You can enjoy classic booth, classic counter or classic table seating. Great lighting, tvs in their corners and loads of pictures from/of Hollywood legends. Expect touches of seasonal fun around holidays and various times of year as well as general full case of pies, pastries or desserts near the main counter in a nice display case. Patys has an extensive beverage menu with all the musts, from juice, coffee and tea to water variety, soft drinks (fancy speak for soda), milks (including almond), lemonade, beers, wines and other favorites. I feel like I've been here once many moons ago. After a hike, trying to figure out someplace for a meal is always a hassle. This wasn't our original plan but as we were walking to what was supposed to be the place. We saw Patys and said what the heck. The outdoor patio looked nice so we walked in. There wasn't anyone at the front so we waited for a bit till someone saw us. Even though there were loads of empty tables, they gave us one that still needed to be cleaned. It didn't take long for the cleaning. The gentleman also asked us what we wanted to drink while we were looking through the menu. Shelly, I believe that was her name was our waitress. Very sweet which is always a nice thing. For the menu, they pretty much had everything on there. Classic sandwiches, salads to dinners and breakfast. Started off with a nice cold beer after the hike. Food wise, the Cobb salad. There was plenty of grilled chicken on top the mix greens with bacon bits, crumbled blue cheese, avocado slices, and a hard boil egg. Also the tuna melt with a side of fruit. And one of the classic breakfast. Eggs, bacon and a stack of pancakes. Not to outdo the meal but a side of onion rings was also needed. Food wise, it's your traditional diner meal. Didn't take long to arrive. There's nothing fancy to it. Basic Cobb salad, but plenty of grilled chicken. Then the tuna melt, it was basic but did the trick. Breakfast, that was nice. Plenty of bacon slices which were really nice. And the pancakes, nice and fluffy. You can't go wrong with breakfast unless someone ruins it. But the meal, it did the trick. They did have a nice counter with amazing pies and dessert which we didn't have room for. Years and years ago, a friend and I would come to this place ALL the time. I'm obsessed with the fact that they have bran muffins. They have a ton of gluten free options, which was the appeal back then. Today, I came back with my boyfriend and can confirm it is still awesome!! I got the build your own breakfast burrito and practically inhaled the thing. I don't think my iced latte was anything to write home about, but my boyfriend enjoyed his! The food was great, the service was incredible! For a busy spot, I never felt overlooked. Servers all made sure we had what we needed. Such a fun spot. I LOVE this restaurant so much that I have done few reviews/ updates on Patys. Their service, food , maintenance, is always a plus! Can't get enough of this ICONIC place. It definitely is a staple in my heart. Restaurant is CLEAN, with booths/counter top seating with celebrity photos on the walls. Lots of familiar faces too. Patys offers variety; vast, extensive menu options from breakfast, to lunch, to dinner with consistency & friendly service! They have so many options of food with great, generous, portions that you really don't know what to eat? Depending on my mood & craving, that is what I will order. I have tried a lot of their menu options over the years and love everything that I have had. Also, including their beverages of every kind. From hot to cold, to shakes, to soda, lemonade, iced tea...just to name a few. Let me not forget to say that in between all the updates that I have done on this lovely restaurant, I frequented there numerous times, but didn't write a review. This time this review is based on our Thanksgiving Holiday meal. We have had Thanksgiving at Patys few years back, & it was much better than this time around. We ordered their Thanksgiving Dinner that came with tender white meat, salad, mixed veggies; corn, green beans, & broccoli; with a side order of either mashed potatoes or yams. We opted for yams. Great portions, affordable prices. Food was good and hot. Thanksgiving meal was $21.99 a penny less of being $22.00. They didn't have pumpkin or sweet potato pie. NO PIE ON THANKSGIVING?? However, the fridge is full of pies and the day of the holiday it was kind of empty. Edson R, gave us a prompt, great service with a nice smile. Being new to the addition of their great employees, he was good. Although, he forgot to bring the cranberry sauce which came with the meal. I had reminded him once. I don't understand why they said on the phone that they did offer dark meat when they didn't. I like DARK MEAT!! Jessica, is a jewel.The best manager that Patys ever had. On the other hand their GM Maria was NOT! Great, chill ambiance with nice patio seating all around the restaurant and overall this time was a LACKLUSTER!! Ample parking in the back and 2 clean restrooms! Restaurant was open until 3pm due to the Holiday hours. Normally closes at 9pm. Didn't take any photos, because there was no need. Classic diner is correct. Very dog friendly is correct. This is our go-to for easy diner food. We always get great service, this time thank you Nicole, a welcoming and warm host, thank you Jessica. All the food was delicious. I had a tuna melt, with french fries and ranch dressing. Sam had their famous broasted chicken with rice pilaf and sauteed vegetables, along with white gravy. We each started with their great clam chowder, which I could make a meal of. We topped it off with a cookies and cream pie, which I understand is new. Even our busser treated us very kindly. We always look forward to coming here. We miss Corky's in our neighborhood, but we don't mind traveling a bit further to be treated and fed so well. I forgot to take pics. read more

I love Paty's! I was there today eating my favorite thing - a tunamelt with cheddar cheese on gluten free bread. I had coleslaw and fries with that. I don't live near Paty's, but I crave that sandwich and they have gluten free bread, so I try to get there a few times a year. They make great omelets, too. It's diner food but better than most diners. The service is excellent. Such nice people. Today we were lucky to have Emily helping us. She's always so friendly and kind. I'm surprised to see this restaurant is rated below 4 stars. I had a great lunch here. I got the chicken bacon avocado sandwich and it was amazing! The service was fantastic. I wish I got the name of the lady who served us cause she was really funny and nice. She let us move tables and we gave her an umbrella someone left at the table and she made a funny joke about being Mary poppins and flying away. The place is super cute. Staff is very welcoming. They are able to sit you right away for dinner. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a parking out back with many spaces or you can easily find street parking. This is a great place to grab a bite and catch up with an old friend. Many people who work at the surrounding studios tend to hang out here. The menu has a variety of diner classics. Half Broasted Chicken Special- 8/10 Great value and great food. Was juicy and tender also very filling. I would probably skip the side of vegetable. Skirt Steak Chimichurri- 7/10 Tender cut of meat but was over cooked. The rice pilaf was nice and buttery. A diner that's gone through numerous renovations to not being a capable indoor/outdoor dining experience with an extensive menu that's modernized with the times. Burbank/Toluca Lake has many great old diners like Patys, Coral Cafe and Bob's Big Boy, but Patys stands out because of its diverse menu. It offers traditional diner selections like pancakes, eggs, burgers, etc...but it always has gluten free and vegan options along with hearty dinner options like spaghetti and meatballs and chicken pot pie. They have expanded their footprint post pandemic shutdown and now has an extensive patio section which makes the waits on the weekends more manageable. Parking can still be an issue with this location with so much space being taken up by the areas multitude of construction, but you can park in the neighborhoods during the daytime. The service is usually on point, but I've had some occasions where it was slower than expected YMMV. Overall, a great family restaurant or gathering space for large parties and traditional classics with a few nice twists. read more

Originally opened in 1960 Paty's is a true classic diner and one of the best in the valley. There are a lot of other restaurants very close by so it's a real breakfast hotspot. Fans of the show Barry on HBO may recognize this location as it's featured in the show. It was extremely busy when we arrived for a Sunday brunch, but we only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table inside. Most people chose to sit outside today because it was sunny and warm. Our server was really polite and all of our food items came out super fast. Inside is pretty large with booth and counter seating or the other option will be one of the many outdoor tables. They have a large parking lot behind the restaurant or otherwise it will be one of the other many free street spots. As always I started off my meal with a coffee and I thought it was especially good and strong here. For my meal I chose the Eggs Benedict but added avocado and substituted chorizo instead of the ham. I think that combo is really great and I would definitely recommend anyone. I also ordered a Single Biscuit & Gravy on the side and it was a real delicious fluffy biscuit with authentic gravy. Overall a great breakfast, and I definitely would say Paty's is one of my favorite diners in Los Angeles. I would recommend to anyone searching for a great place to have breakfast, but I would suggest going early because it can get very crowded. read more

The associates are prompt, knowledgeable and they're focused on making sure that they have variations to their entrees.
