We came here with 4 friends before going to a play at El Portal. We've been to the Granville in Studio City many times but the first time here. My wife and I split a Santa Barbara chicken sandwich and Lettuce Cups and it was more than enough. Dre was a good and helpful server as we asked her to put cheese and basil pesto on the side and grain wheat toast and she was open and helpful and checked on the six of us consistently in the hour or so we were at our table. The other two couples also enjoyed their food. We were seated on the top level with a view. As a note, they put a 20% "service charge for 6 or more guests," even if we each paid for our own meals, but it was perfectly fine. I have been to Granville a couple of times and have had an enjoyable visit both times. My partner and I have stopped by here for drinks and appetizers before enjoying the rest of our evening and have been very pleased with the taste of the drinks and the attentive and friendly service. For a rather large restaurant, we haven't found ourselves having to wait around for staff to take our order or check-in on us which is always appreciated! I would recommend making a reservation to ensure seating as it seems to get busy Friday and Saturday evenings. We decided to celebrate Easter with an early dinner at my favorite Granville, located in the charming Boho Arts District. I've visited a few of their locations, but this one really captures the artsy vibe that I love. Thankfully, we made reservations, as it wasn't too busy when we arrived.I always order the salmon, and it never disappoints. The addition of corn elevates the dish, making it incredibly flavorful. My boyfriend opted for the hummus pita, which he found to be a light and enjoyable meal. Although I didn't snap a photo of the artisan bread, I can assure you it melts in your mouth. Our server Rene was super sweet and gave awesome recommendations based on the kitchens speed, which helped since we were short on time. We ordered the steak taco trio and sweet potato fries. All of the staff was extremely friendly. Our server, Jenna, was amazing! She took extra care as we had questions navigating the menu. We ordered the Shakshuka and Wagyu Birria Brisket Breakfast Tacos as well the Granville Berry Lemonade, Black Cherry Tarragon craft soda, and Agave Vanilla Cream craft soda. Of the meals, the Shakshuka really shined! They grilled the sourdough to perfection and cooked the Shakshuka with care leaving it robust and full of flavor. We ate it up before thinking to take a picture for this review (sorry!). The Black Cherry Tarragon Soda has a unique herbal, borderline medicinal, flavor that I really loved (my partner wasn't the biggest fan, though, so your mileage may vary). This time I opted for a non-alcoholic drink and I tried their black cherry tarragon soda. It's a really unique flavor and I enjoyed it! It is on the sweeter side so I recommend putting some soda water in it to dilute it a bit. Parking can be a bit tricky here since it's located within a busy area of NoHo, but I found street parking a couple blocks away. They do have valet parking and validate inside too which knocks off a few bucks. read more

I came to Granville for the first time before seeing a movie screening. First off, this area of NoHo was super artsy. You'll find many murals on buildings, old school theaters and overall cool vibes. I was really impressed by this restaurant. You step in and are immediately transported into a very upscale and romantic atmosphere. The bar is the center piece and absolutely stunning. There are actually 2 levels to this restaurant and both the 1st and 2nd floors are equally beautiful. Even the bathroom was nice! Our server was very kind and helpful. We received A+ service. And, the food and drinks were delicious. They have fabulous cocktails and zero proof mocktails as well. I loved the butter lettuce cups...they had a bit of a kick and were really refreshing on a hot summer day. My friend ordered a sandwich and fries and the fries stole the show for me! It was our first time there. We met up with 2 of our friends to celebrate my birthday. The place itself looks fantastic. What a tasteful and unique interior! We were led upstairs by the very friendly hostess and had a table with the view down to their snack bar and this incredible and awesome huge light fixture hanging from the ceiling. Our waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming and professional. Our food was incredible. Now, the reason why I am giving this place only 4 stars is because it is so extremely loud. When we walked into the restaurant, the bottom floor where also the bar is located, it was very loud and noisy. When we were led up by the stairs into the second floor dining area, it was a bit less. At the first moments compared to downstairs. But still so noisy that we had a very hard time having a conversation without yelling at each other, which we tried not to do, as we did not like the majority of the other customers. It was very unpleasant. It actually gave me a headache. I was going to take some photos of our food. But I was so turned off by all this I didn't feel like it. The service was flawless and good. But at the end, when we were leaving and were at the bottom floor to get to the exit, there was one table full of people literally screaming. All of us 4 were so turned off by this. I do not understand the management that they wouldn't step in and. Advise those unruly customers to lower their noise. After all, there are still other customers who like to enjoy their dinner. That, I must say, made me/ us decide not to go there again. If I want this kind of noise, I can go to a nightclub and not a restaurant! read more

Came in on a Monday about an hour before closing with a decent sized group. We sat at the bar and the bartender quickly took our drink orders. My friend ordered an extra dirty martini, but it seemed to come with a lot of vermouth and very little olive juice. The receipt ended up saying "extra dry" on it but the bartender insisted she "doesn't use vermouth" in her martinis. Their espresso martinis are SUPER strong in both coffee and liquor, so if you typically like sweeter coffee or espresso martinis, this isn't that. This is the kind of place that will have you wanted to come back the next day! My husband and I have seen this restaurant so many times and honestly it wasn't until we tried to go to our usual spot (fat dog and found that it had closed down) that forced us to try out a new spot. When i say the artisan bread and butter is the most amazing bread and butter ever...i swear I'm NOT being dramatic. The butter is whipped duckfat, and while it is extremely rich...it is sooo delectable and a must try. The first time I visited, I got the Cesar salad and added shrimp. My second visit is went basic and got a veggie burger and fries. Both were amazing choices. There are a ton of options to choose from, the ambiance is really something else! I recommended this restaurant thinking its a premium food and service. However, soon after we were seated, we started noticing flies and pest activities! There was so many flies and other flying bugs that we could barely have a conversation or even enjoy a bite of food! I am not sure how such a chain with this price range can allow such unsanitary conditions to exist without investing in proper pest control and basic food safety. This is one of those places that I've been a dozen times and don't understand how I don't have a review of it already. It's obviously a great place to go, because I'm there a lot. And I'll tell you why: It's easy for people with food allergies. It's pretty. It's not super noisy, so it's good for older folks. It has a well-marked menu for people gluten-free or vegan, etc. And the staff is usually well-versed and amenable to discussion about adapting for food allergies. I really appreciate all of that. That being said, brunch is my favorite menu. And this location in NoHo is my favorite one. It's so pretty. And the staff is so cool. All the restaurants have a similar menu, so you can go to whichever is convenient for you. But if you can go to NoHo, go. They have valet parking, but there's street parking too. I will say, they screwed up my order today, which is unusual. And I'm lucky I'm not allergic to what was still in my food. But the manager did comp me without my asking. I started off with a cocktail called California Love, which was incredibly refreshing. The mix of Gray Whale gin, melon, cucumber, mint, citrus, and the touch of the micro flowers made it light, crisp, and perfect for summer. I also tried the Espresso No-tini, their non-alcoholic take on an espresso martini. I've never had one before and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was -- smooth, rich, and bold. Toward the end, the bitterness came through more strongly, so I downed it pretty quickly, but overall it was a really great and unique drink. For my starter, I ordered the Uptown Mac & Cheese, and wow -- the blend of aged cheddar and gruyère gave it such a rich, savory flavor. The addition of chicken, asparagus, and peas made it feel both comforting and elevated. I also tried the Santa Barbara Chicken Sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy and tender, paired beautifully with the smoked mozzarella, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, basil pine nut pesto, and garlic aioli -- all tucked into fresh ciabatta.
