Then I ordered Lavender waffle with chicken sausage and my husband ordered the brisket burrito. Not impressed at all, had me wanting to go to IHop for my breakfast fix. My waffle tasted like it was an ego popped in the toaster and sat out too long and chicken pieces were cold and hard. The restaurant is hidden in a cute neighborhood. We stumbled on it as we were crossing from Burbank to Glendale. It gets busy. Customer service is great! I really enjoy eating here, and I place orders for delivery pretty often. EVERY single time I order food they do not include napkins, ketchup or ranch. These are always requested when I place an order, it's obvious they just don't read the note section of their orders. Typically this would not bother me as a one or two time thing, but every time? On the bright side, their food is consistent, and taste pretty good. I really enjoy the grilled chicken wrap and their salads. I have stopped by here a few times for coffee while cycling by and breakfast when driving by. The food portions are generous and I end up with half of my meal in a takeout container to finish off for lunch or dinner. The ambience is chill and relatively quiet when full. I feel like most folks are there to hang, have coffee, and share stories over breakfast. Ordering is seamless. The menus hang on the front doors and a cashier is there to take your order. Our last visit was exceptionally pleasant. The young man at the counter was Disneylandish friendly and patient. The barista was quick and efficient. They aren't chatty with the customers. This isn't a TV studio set. This is real life. You order. You pick up. You exit. Table service is smooth with numbers on stands for them to find you. I don't find anyone rude but I am an average Joe who just wants to get my food, eat, and bounce. Unless they are total jerks, I don't mind if the servers don't talk outside of asking who got what dish. The servings are quite hefty and their hash potatoes take up half the plate so be forewarned about the carb count. I like omelettes but have now discovered the very simple yogurt and granola bowl. Yes, I can make it at home but the point is being out with friends and it won't leave me in a near food coma. Like I said, I am a simple guy who wants simple good food and doesn't need all the fan faire of a fancy place. I live in the neighborhood and have been a big supporter since it opened. Even through the pandemic I made sure to order take out and left extra large tips for the staff. Today, I was so disappointed at how I was treated. We took a walk and decided to pop in for a coffee. I asked the cashier what was in the London Cream because I wanted to know if it was sweetened with anything. The cashier didn't know so she asked the barista next to her. The barista rolled her eyes at me and said "I don't know. It's on the menu on the door over there." I walked about half way to the door, stunned. Then I returned and told the cashier I didn't want a drink the barista didn't know the ingredients to. I honestly would have walked out, but my daughter was so excited for her chai latte. I won't be going back, I'll go to Pricilla's, Sotta or Commmissary where the staff are nice. P.S. My husband's vanilla latte was also pretty mediocre. read more

We came here on a Sunday after church to brunch around noon and the restaurant was not crowded at all. We placed our order at the register, payed got a number and took a seat. There was plenty of seating outside and in. We decided to sit at the the High horse area since they do serve alcohol on that side. Their menu gives you the option to order breakfast or lunch items. Now to the food: Chilaquiles 10 out of 10: The chips were crunchy like I like them, they had a lot of sauce but not too much to make them soggy (yuck), the plate had plenty of queso fresco, eggs were not overcooked/undercooked. Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich: 9 out of 10. Big portion of crispy warm fries and a delicious giant tender chicken sandwich with mozzarella, bacon, tomato and avocado. Sparkling Flight: A trio of peach, guava and orange mimosas. They were pretty big to my surprise and refreshing. They were about 4 ounces each and were not to sweet. Victory Golden Monkey: 9 out of 10 looked like an Allagash tasty! Parking situation: We found parking right away and if there isn't in their private lot there is plenty of street parking. VIbes: I really loved the relaxing and pleasant vibes. We saw a couple of horsies pass by which was a big plus. Very, very cool atmosphere with tons of seating in and out and a gorgeous design/ cool theme. I'm absolutely obsessed with the vegan, gluten free pumpkin donut. It's more like a breakfast bread - really hearty and filling when you're having a chaotic morning and need something on-the-go. Not too sweet so there's no crash, and it's saved me on several occasions when I didn't have the opportunity to even catch a meal later in day because I was so busy. I love an oatmilk latte, but I really appreciate the extensive tea list at Basecamp. Usually cafes can only be counted on for one or the other, but Basecamp can make both a tea drinker and coffee addict happy. It's got a cozy, neighborhood feel and the prices are moderate. Street parking on Riverside or up the nearby neighborhood is easy - otherwise they have a dedicated parking lot! You won't find anywhere with a motif more committed to. Can't believe we have never discovered this place before now. Came with a group of six of us and we waited a few minutes for a table. Most of the seating is outside, however there is some seating inside. Very cute and hip place to come get coffee and hang out. It was very hot so maybe go early in the morning. As I can't have sugar, prior to ordering my breakfast I asked and was told by the one taking my order they do have sugar free syrup and even told him I can't do sugar. We receive our meals, meals weren't hot, and there wasn't any syrup. When I asked the server for the sugar free syrup, I was told she didn't think they had any. I love this place! It's owned by the founder of the Republic of Pie- another favorite of mine- so you know it's going to have great quality food and a chill atmosphere. Base Camp is, "a staging area used by mountaineers to prep for a climb", and this one is filled with snowy mountain scenery via their gorgeous curtains. The place is filled with beautiful paintings & inspirational quotes (restrooms), funny takes on politicians (they're liberals or at least Democrats) and various tchotchkes. There's a lot to look at. Food & drink: First of all, this is the best dirty chai latte I've ever had and I love-love-love the quinoa eggs Benedict so much that I find that I can't order anything else! It's 12.25, and comes with poached eggs, steamed spinach, quinoa patties, avocado, Basil sauce with fruit, salad or potatoes. I've also had the charcoal latte steamer and the lavender latte with espresso- both delicious! I haven't had the courage to try their beetroot latte yet- but I'm sure I will! Their other breakfast and lunch items (courtesy bites from my friends) are tasty too. The food presentation is quite nice. The equestrian center is right down the street so there will be horse people in da house along with millennials and local Burbankians. A trio of us met at Basecamp Dinette X Scout's Honor BBQ for brunch on Super Bowl Sunday and we had a "super" experience with the customer service and food. I ordered the Bagels and Lox with a Latte and both were delicious and hearty. The place was crowded and there was a short line to order. The inside ambience was nice and comfortable with many seating options to hang out and "shoot the breeze" with friends. I really enjoyed the artwork and cool furniture. There is outdoor dining too with dining tables, chairs and picnic tables. It was a cold day and finding a warm spot was not easy. I recommend a warm blanket, jacket, shawl or sweater if you dine outdoors in the winter. The customer service is friendly and attentive. My bagels and lox was delicious and tasted very fresh. The salmon was served in the shape of a rose and came with a sliced bagel, cream cheese, tomatoes, and capers. Our trio was happy with their food selections and we stayed until it closed, which was about 3 pm. There is a parking lot and some street parking available. This place is so cute! Staff is super friendly. You order up front and eat outside. They have limited parking but there is plenty of street parking which is easy to get access to. I got their french onion soup and was really happy with it. It was a cold and rainy day so the soup was perfect! The cheesy top and sourdough bread underneath was so good. The soup was also super hot. My friend got the panini chicken sandwhich and she really enjoyed it. Her dad got the same sandwhich but with parmesan garlic fries. The fries are DELICIOUS but they are VERY strong in garlic content. They also have self serve fruit infused water. It was VERY refreshing. My friend and I love fruit infused water! Super cute place for lunch and the outdoor seating is great for summer! I met up with a girlfriend here for a weekday lunch since she works in the area. You order at the counter, grab a number, and then seat yourself. I ordered a chicken cobb salad and she got a burger. Not sure what was in it but she seemed to enjoy it. My salad tasted super fresh and everything in it was of high quality. A minor pet peeve of mine is finding even slightly wilted greens in my salads, but this wasn't the case here. The egg, the bacon, and the avocado were well done and looked appealing. The salad was very nicely put together. The dressing was very tasty and surprisingly light. The parking lot is pretty small so you might have trouble finding a spot during the lunch rush. There's usually street parking a little further down in either direction. read more

Drink: My friends got coffee and I got a Moroccan mint tea. Hmmmm! So hot water + a mint teabag that tastes just like any other mint tea bag for $4.70?????? I'm shocked. That's laughable. The audacity to charge nearly $5 for tea is insane and then give the option for an 18% tax too? Hilarious! The only upside is that the tea was super hot which was great on a cold rainy day. Also, the teabag is open so you'll be drinking your tea with the tea leaves in your mouth. Cleanliness: It was the start of the day during a rainy day so it was clean other than the shoe marks. First time at Basecamp Dinette on January 22, 2024. Ordered, breakfast and 2 lattes. I went to get a table while my girlfriend waited for our coffees (as directed). She came out with the two coffees and as we were getting ready to sit the Birista came out and asked if our name was Anna. We replied no, he said you took someone elses coffee. We apologized, he was less than happy and said now I have to make them over. We sat down, my friend shared that she was told by a staff member that those were ours. I had already taken a drink when he informed us of the mistake, I went back in to let him know that we would just keep the drinks that we had taken and not to make our order. I then told him about my friend being told that the drinks were ours and the Brista proceeded to tell me that he was there the entire time and that he told her that the drinks were not hers and she took them any way. I then said maybe she didn't hear you, and regardless it was a mistake and he was being rude. I walked back to my table. He then comes by our table and says to my friend, I wasn't upset and I thought he was appoligizing but then he says believe me if I was being rude you would know it......and started to walk away. I pointed out that the very statement was rude and unnecessary. Rather disappointing experience. The food was great and all other staff that we came into contact with were great. My go to bbq spot in Burbank! BBQ is on the weekends and it's great. The food: my go to orders are: the tri tip sandwich, brisket, ribs, and spicy coleslaw. Everything here is really good and since it's been smoked all day, it comes out pretty quickly. The meat comes out very soft and tender. And their sauces are great too--my favorite is their house sauce (over the spicy one). Dining area: intimate outdoor seating with plenty of bench seating and heaters. The food is delicious, though it's very stressful to figure out logistics when you order your food. You need to sit on the right to wait for people to leave, and then people seem to hover once you're ready to go to get your table. There are a lot of families with dogs.
