The patio is nice. That's about full I can say about this place. The service was ok, our waitress did not check in to see if we wanted another drink after dropping off our food. The soft pretzel was ok as was my Swiss burger( no taste at all) the fries and the black bean burger were also just passable. It. My belief that all the good items are cooked from frozen. Only had a couple drinks here for apres. That alone would probably have garnished three stars, but there was a dog sitting at the bar drinking a beer (at least he had one in front of him). That alone is worth an extra star... even though the service was a little slow. Originally I sat down at an open table, but then noticed other people 'being seated'. I was road tripping through Colorado and made a quick stop in Vail just to check it out. I looked up a few dog friendly places and decided on one. It was closed. Another was full. I walked around and saw Bart & Yeti's with a few dogs on the patio and grabbed a seat. I couldn't have made a better decision. The staff was beyond friendly. They gave my dog some water and treats. Easy in, quick table service and great quick lunch food. The place seethes of nostalgia and hasn't changed in years. Burger was great, Green Chili was perfectly warming on a snowy lunch break from the slopes and washed it all down with a Colorado brew. Prices were reasonable especially for Vail. read more

We came at the end of Ski Season and after my husband had a day of skiing, we were looking for pizza and found this place. What a wonderful local place. We came here not knowing they were closing for two weeks the next day for the dead season so maybe food and service would be better during season. The bacon on my BLT was the only thing good on BLT the bread was barely toasted and a placement of butter right in center it turned the hole middle section fall apart bc it was so soggy so I couldn't eat the sandwich. The chips were lays out of a bag so nothing fresh cooked. We also got chicken noodle soup that was good. My husband had the roast beef sandwich again bread was very soggy. His fries were okay. We only had two options as we had our dog with so we had to sit outside on the patio which was nice as far as clean the patio area was clean and tables. The staff was nice, didn't use the bathroom. It was quite pricey for food I could have made much better in my own kitchen to serve guests. It's vail it's touristy so I guess you have to lower your expectations in touristy areas not known for food but scenery instead. Would we go again likely not. read more

Okay first of all - YOU CAN HAVE YOUR DOG AT THE BAR! Yes, you read that correctly, you can walk your sweet furry friend right inside, sit down at the bar and toss back a cold one! My husband and I stopped in for dinner, so we skipped the bar and sat a table, but would have loved to have our dogs here. Im not sure of the rules - but I didn't see any dogs in the dining area near food. The atmosphere of this place is fun, quirky, and family oriented. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. We ordered a chicken sandwich, the ribs and a couple beers/cocktails. The food was tasty, but definitely not out of this world. Their version of a Moscow mule wasn't my favorite, so if you're a Moscow mule fan, I would not recommend it. Great little hole-in-the-wall pub in Lionshead village. Totally local feel inside. Staff was awesome - they all run food for each other (love that) and constantly check to see if you need anything. Food is typical pub fare - no complaints. We had chips & dip, salads, wings, and chicken tenders. You'll be happy to pay the check here - HALF the amount you'll spend anywhere else in Vail (a.k.a. Lynn has always been, and continues to be, a wonderful server and is very personable. Reassuring to see a lot of familiar faces over the years - customers and staff! The food is delicious; portions are amble. BLTS, burgers, wings, onion rings, soups, and specials are always sure bets. There is full bar; but this place is also very family friendly. A little deception. Enjoyed a meal with 5 others and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. But they put an 18% gratuity on my bill with no mention of it. I added a 20%+ tip on top of this, not realizing the automatic gratuity. Yes, it's my fault but this "practice" of not informing the guest of the auto gratuity is a bit deceptive. Did not realize issue until a couple of days later. So don't make the same mistake I did. And, as far as the owners and servers here, your customers deserve better. Disappointed in them. read more

Port at best. This is a local hang out. If you want to feel like an outsider, go here! If you want to be treated rudely and like you don't belong, this is the place. It is sad too, as this could really be a gem. I have been here on different occasions for several years and still get the same experience, not a pleasant one. As if you walked in on an invitation only party, crashed it then demanded food and drink. Food is ok, which is why this isn't one star. I stood for about 15 minutes before a waitress asked if I wanted to order anything. I ordered a beer and it came in a 20 oz cup. I would have preferred the option for a pint sized glass since I drink slower. My beer was warm half way through it. There was a dog sitting at the bar on a bar stool. It's pretty much a casual, anything goes type of place. The next time I'm in Vail, my preference will be to check out some other bars since this one didn't impress me at all. read more

First time in Vail so we stopped by to have a bite for lunch. The atmosphere looked cool and it was a beautiful day so we opted to sit outside. Our waitress was immediately attentive getting us drinks and taking our order and the food came out quickly. Then things went downhill. Drunk people everywhere screaming and having inappropriate conversations, shouting words that shouldn't be said and the food was just terrible. I had chicken tenders with fries and my boyfriend had chicken wings. Neither were very tasty at all. Not fresh, tenders tasted freezer burnt and my boyfriend said that the wings had a very weird texture. The only reason that I give this place 3 stars is because the staff was very friendly and attentive. There were also 2 people who I think we're the owners walking around filing drinks, taking orders, clearing tables, etc. That shows that they at least care about their place which is always nice to see. Overall, food is not good but the service is great. Because of the crappy food, we will not be back. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at when I travel to Vail. I love the atmosphere and the food is great! I have been coming to Bart & Yeti's since I was a kid, and I make sure to go at least once a trip. In my dozens of times eating at the restaurant, I only experienced poor service once by a particular waiter, but that was years ago and I treated it as an anomaly. In Vail, there are few options for cheap eats. A salad will set you back $13 every time and there may or may not be meat on it. Our hotel shuttle driver suggested Bart and Yeti's as a local watering hole that also served a good meal. He also said their food is fresh and not straight from the freezer like most of the other shops. So, we ventured in. It's not much to look at from the inside. Typical lodge dumpy style, but homey. I ordered a green salad with grilled chicken and craisins. The chicken was a bit sparsely added and dry, but the salad was flavorful enough overall. Bart and Yeti's is my kind of place. Dark, no frills type of bar with locals and tourists alike. We strolled in later in the evening on a Thursday evening after dinner to find a group of guys at the bar who were clearly feeling good. The bartender had apparently been about to close up until they walked in. So what did we do? Bought 7 fireball shots and passed them around and made some new friends. It was that kind of bar...talk to everyone and have a good time. We also met some locals there who had initially been the only two in there. Basically everyone in there was a friend by the end of the evening. And that's why I'm a fan. No frills, friendly people, and a bartender who stayed open a little bit longer even when he was so over it! read more

Best burger I have had in a long time. Very simple down to earth place. Expect to find all the local dogs sitting by the bar with their owners. Stopped by Bart and Yeti's for lunch on my way through. It's in the Lionsgate village center, so you have to park and walk to find it. Park in the Lionsgate lot - its free for two hours but then jumps up to like $15 after, so just keep an eye on the time, 1 star - ambience - this is exactly as advertised, a rustic feeling "dive" bar (though I agree that Vail's definition of dive bar is a little more upscale than what I was used to). Loved that there were two dogs that just roamed around and owned the place. Very relaxed feel. 2nd star - service - we came on a really busy day, and some folks that came after us had to wait, but we were greeted and sat promptly. The server was with us in just a few minutes and our drinks came right away. Because they were busy, none of the staff chit chatted or anything, but I'm fine with that. They did a good job taking care of us, 3rd star - food and drink - small draft beer list, but some good options like New Belgium and Sam Adams. The menu is basic pub fare. We ordered and split them buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were only kind of lukewarm and the sandwich was basic. Would only give .5 stars in this, 4th star - value - Vail is expensive. Probably a little overpriced for what you get, but that's just the way it goes. Another .5 star 5th star - overall - I enjoyed this spot and would come back. Recommended. read more

What a fun après place! We were in Vail for yet another ski weekend a few days ago, and it also happened to be "Pink Vail," a fundraiser for breast cancer research, so the village was packed and Bart & Yeti's was no exception. We were actually able to get a table inside right away despite the patio swarming with people since it was a beautiful spring-y day. I can't comment as to the quality of the food, but our beers were cold and our server was solid - despite being visibly stressed at how busy they were. As mentioned below the Thai chicken wrap was not what we'd expected, they took half off the price - we tipped it right back, but it's a rare thing nowadays to have the customer FIRST. Edit: Came back and ate lunch for something different - pretty much what I expected. $14 for a burger and fries. Nothing special. Service was excellent. Daily special Thai chicken wrap was kind of a mess - the combination of a Thai fish sauce, chicken, and cucumbers is a little weird. A Thai peanut sauce and no cucumbers would have been better. The chicken itself was well prepared Old: Ended up only having drinks. Menu is super expensive, and looking at the food they brought out to other tables it didn't look like anything special. Service was excellent - seemed like the owners themselves were taking care of tables. Great place to hang out with some food and beer after a day of snowboarding/skiing. I highly recommend getting the hot drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my Irish Coffee, one of the best I've had (though to be truthful, most of the other one's I've had were made by my friends). We stopped in for lunch after a morning of skiing, and the experience was just what we wanted. The decor is classical western style, and the attitude is appropriately laid back. They have a limited draft beer selection and lots of traditional comfort food, ranging from burgers to chili and back again. My brother gambled on the black bean burger, and was quite pleasantly surprised. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich and, while it was nothing special, it was exactly the way I like it: lightly breaded and soaked in Frank's wing sauce. Service was very slow took 1.5 hrs for 3 people to eat, had to flag someone down to get refills, and ask about our order after 40 minutes. Our food was never cleaned off table after we ate and then took forever to get our check. Food was below average at best. We had Garfinkel's early in the day and the food and service was top notch.
